@CoolCatGetHome
I attached the systemui.apk.
I tried again to modify and now the status bar dissapeared when i rebooted the phone...
Maybe it is because i am trying to modify the files with notepad¿???
I tried signing, not signing, copy classes.dex, not copying .dex... don't know what else to do
Thanks in advance!
@CoolCatGetHome
Are you back from your vacations?? can you modify the apk please??

Thanks a lot for your response walter11av.
I must have been through 10 different roms since I posted this, but with the last ROM, the flashlight worked great, it was a CM10.1.
Now I have an UMI X2 and I have the SGA for replacement in case something happens to the new one.
Thanks again!!!

You need root to replace system apps, and some file explorer that allows messing with root files modding systemui should do the trick btw.

Try NinjaMorph and MetaMorph Android App.
But you must have battery icon pack.
and other icon pack like signal.etc
you want to change.
The simple and fastest Using UotKitchen but Work Online.
You must copy your systemUI.apk and framework-res.apk to sd and transfer to your PC then upload via internet connection.
You cannot using UotKitchen. if Full you must wait.
The best way is change systemUi.apk to systemUI.zip exctract and change every icon you like to change but make sure image file format and resolution size is same. (edit this if you want change signal.etc)
Note: Your systemUI(Notification/Stat bar) force close after doing this and work normally if you reboot your phone.
Same if you want edit framework-res.apk
(edit this if want to change batttery logo.etc)
after finish zip again and rename file extension to apk.
and how to install it?? you can push it via rootexplorer & root browser. to system.
Dont forget to change permission rw-r-r
Note: Risk to push framework directly to system/framework because if push direct to your phone can make your phone soft brick/bootlooph.
why bootlooph because you cannot change permission.
then How to push ?
simple and tricky.
move your mod framework-res.apk in system/(here) set permission rw-r-r
then after that push to system/app
just replace your old framework .
automated reboot after doing this.
then finish.
second make flashable.zip
All of this 100% safe if you not make a mistake.
Big problem if fail only bootlooph or soft brick.

Grab & push IZS's SystemUI.apk + LGSettings3_1.apk, or, you can flash whole ROM. Next time Optimus Black Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.

any another way?
Sry to ask, can moderator move this thread to Q and A section ?.
I try to copy the 2 files from IZS to /system/app and change permissions to rw,r,r o reboot and i got error when i try to open the notification bar, the error is system.ui.apk process closed unexpectedly.
Few secs later its back again and once again when i do something the error reappears.
For nowi copied back my backup files and all is good again.
Can someone tell me what went wrong or any chance of doing this with another files? Maybe from ultrasound v4

I think this is because of the permissions, as you cant change them as soon as you copy them. Why not just create a flashable zip and flash them? easy as toast.

So if i reboot, and then change perms, will it work, coz i really dont know how to make a flashable zip (i have to look for it), i wonder why i was able to change perms after copying the files? After i copy to system folder and chose the file i was able to set perms to RW R R.
The funny thing i started all this mess coz i went back from ultrasound v4 to marvel v12 beta, and i wanted to have the sliding brightness option and also the ultrasound FX to work on marvel. I manage to set the sony walkman, but the brightness and ultrasoundFX didnt work. I think the best thing to enjoy all of this is going back to ultrasound v4 and try different kernel, to get more juice of my freaking battery hehe

A reboot should solve it, if it didnt, then it is a different problem.
Maybe the files from Ultrasound And Marvel aren't compatible with each other. Sorry Couldn't help.
You could try making Dalvik and Cache wipes.
I made this for me but I thought why not share. I enabled data toggle for quick settings. Just flash zip and profit.
Any other toggles you may want just post request.Flashlight requires xml editing which I really dont want to do,so i might not get around to enabling this. If you like my work please give thanks.Enjoy. If you press reset in toggles you will need to reinstall this mod.
How are these .Zip files flashed since it can't be done through stock recovery. Through "Flash gordon"? Is that the most stable way?

Sorry to ask this, but does this work on the note 3 4.4.2?
And has anyone tried using flash Gordon to flash this? Does it work?
Possible flashlight toggle solution?

Hey @blaz1nr I found this thread in the Sprint Galaxy S III forum about modding SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk for the purpose of creating a flashlight toggle for quick settings. It's sprinkled with S4 and S5 users who (if I read correctly) had various levels of success.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617552&highlight=decompile
Anyway, I've been trying my hand at modding system apk's lately (I edited one of the xml files in PopupuiReceiver.apk to disable those annoying battery cover notifications), and I wanted to give this a shot because I'd really like a flashlight toggle in the drop down menu. Unfortunately every time I try to decompile either SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk, the directories and files I'm supposed to be working on aren't showing up. I've decompiled/recompiled successfully before, and now I've tried virtuous ten studio, apk-multi-tool, and apktool, and every time I have this problem decompiling. So what I'm trying to say is I'd be happy to try my hand at doing the xml editing for you, I just can't seem to completely decompile the apps in question. So either someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong decompiling these apk's (I've searched everywhere and none of the supposed fixes have changed anything) or even better, if someone wants to decompile those apk's themselves and share with me, I'll get to work ASAP. Or if I'm wrong/being a stupid n00b, etc. let me know. For anyone else interested, these two apk's are in system/priv-app, not system/app (I had trouble finding them at first, because, again, n00b).
TLDR: Help me decompile these apk's or do it for me and send me the files, and maybe I can make us a dropdown flashlight toggle
Update: I got the directories and files I needed and I've been able to edit everything, but there's a new twist. I had to deodex SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk using Universal Deodexer, in order to access those elusive files and directories. I'm getting compile errors when I try to recompile, and even if it did compile successfully, I have no freakin' clue how much I could potentially screw up the phone by replacing the regular old apk files with the deodexed ones I created. There's a plethora of information and guides on deodexing apks, but not so much support on odexing them (re-odexing them?). I feel like I might be close to getting this working, but if anyone out there has this knowledge and/or is as fixated as I am on a drop-down flashlight toggle, help would be appreciated.
Got it working. I was being an idiot n00b and forgot the relatively minor step of de-odexing my stock rom. Once that was done it was as easy as following the directions on that thread I linked to. The actual LED light lagged like crazy the first time I actually tried the new toggle, but since then it's been smooth and instantaneous. Hope this helps someone
Worked as a charm. Thank you!
Comfirmed worked on NH3 !
Hello!
After the "backup" of SoftKeyz deleted my softkeys and navbar I'm trying to get them back.
I tried a systemui.apk a user here uploaded, but I'm just getting errors when it starts up (Systemui stopped working). So maybe the framework-res is broken as well?
Maybe someone call help me
Regards
Just flash your rom again or fastboot the system image

You need this file also. It's inside a sub folder of system ui folder, named "arm".
Well crap. I'm having trouble attaching the file...

Hello,
I recently rooted my Walkman F886 (Android 4.1.1) and I did something wrong (messed with some system settings, I know my mistake.).
My main problem is that the SystemUI does not shown the statusbar as well as the softkeys anymore.
Does a systemUi.apk from a other modder help, if I install it?
I uploaded some files from my systemUI (Raw files and APK), maybe you can figure it out what happened.
Thanks for helping me out!

Simply undo whatever it is you have done, which is a guessing game for everyone else at this point.
