So besides its look, what does every expect from its lifetime.
I bought a second hand note about 6 months old and the new batterys from ebay were just as good if not better than the original hence im thinking a 6500ma battery would see possible 2 full days of heavy use? perhaps 4 of light use.. I hope they bring out the 12000ma extended battery

I prefer to buy another original or anker battery with a double charger for 30 bucks and put it the second in the wallet than use this extended in the phone.

I would rather get a second official battery than have this monstrosity destroy the look of my phone

I think you are all missing the point of this battery.
I was in Thailand with the arduos task of taking 3000 photos on my note. My small batterys didnt last that long and was also hard to grip. The big phone with big battery was far superior. Obviously it destroys the look but for usability it is amazing.
Can we keep comments to the use of thos battery, not the look it will give the phone.. Ovbviously its not a fashion accesory **** guys

I can see its usefulness, that's for sure. I just think the company could have worked on the execution a bit better. But no doubt, if you need a long life battery, it should do the trick.

Cheap no brand batteries are NEVER as good as the quality OEM products. I'll reserve judgement on this thing until someone's reported on its actual performance.

That is a good find.
I'll definitely buy one before taking a trip/vacation.
It'll be a very handy if not a life saver.
Be sure to let us know how it performs.

I don't understand why you these extended battery case makers make a lump,
rather than just making the entire case that thick. (maybe needing a bigger hole for the camera.
It'd look much nicer.

Cheap Battery from China works!

so a few of you may remember I took the plunge and bought an ebay extended battery. I'm here to report that not only do they work, they work great! I used my phone from 8 AM yesterday to about 2 AM and it still had about 20% left!!! And I was using GPS, phone calls, heavy internet browsing application installing, and more. Not to mention I just got the thing so it's probably not even broken in yet. The back is extended out a bit, but really it actually feels more solid than the standard cover. I'm 100% satisfied... for $15 shipped this is 1000000% worth it!
This is the battery I bought, it's 2000 mAh, so it needs an extended cover which this seller included with the order. I actually made a mistake and bought the P3050 version I guess it's GSM? Not sure exactly, but it didn't fit, so I emailed him and he mailed out the proper one for the Sprint CDMA version. If you email him, he should be able to help, nice guy.

Just thought I'd share my success! Everyone (including myself) thought these things were garbage, but in fact this is a pretty high quality product

Hit or miss
For me, buying batteries on ebay has been a hit or miss experience. 50% good, 50 % crap (out of 6).

I agree, but this guy did me a favor. I bought the wrong one (wrong battery cover) and he hooked me up!
Berardi,
That's a great news.
I'll get one, if I need a new battery.
My standard battery life is now much better than before. Last weekend, I used a golf rangefinder (GPS for yardage). My battery died right after I hit my 2nd shot to the 18th green.
can you take a picture of the back at a different angle?
From the picture it looked aweful... like a step and then flat on the top part
For now i've been leaving my phone charged most of the time and carrying aspare battery rather than an extended one but with the use of GPS/BT/ Internet i can hardly squeeze more than 5-6 hrs before i have to replace or charge mine...
I wish the Extended batter can "blend" in more with the phone rather than the protuding and funny looking cover ...

GPS definitely drains the battery like no other. I use my phone pretty heavily, not extremely heavy on GPS like you would with golf rangefinder, but I can't imagine you being able to drain this thing in less than a few hours. Compared to my 1500 mah Seidio, a Japanese brand battery that is supposedly a very good brand, this is a pretty large increase. I'd give it a shot I would buy from this guy if I were you, he's good about responding to emails and fixing problems. Like I said, I bought the wrong version accidentally and he fixed it for me.

Yeah it does stick out about maybe 3/8 of an inch? But truthfully, it feels more solid in my hands when I'm typing and using it. I don't know if it's because the old back cover was so beat up, or if it's actually that the extra back makes it fit better in my hand, it just seems to fit better. Here I took some pics.
http://picasaweb.google.com/berardi1111/ExtendedBattery?feat=directlink
It does stick out in the battery area and not the top area and a small area not sticking out at the bottom, but it really doesn't bother me in the least. I've used mostly larger phones in the past, like the Mogul so I'm used to a larger size and prefer it actually. YMMV but I'm extremely satisfied

HTC 2150mAh Extended Battery + Door for sale

I recently came to the conclusion that i wanted to sell my 2150 battery. It was great and lasted long but I just never really could adjust to the bulk and after rooting and installing a custom ROM on my phone, my stock battery was enough to satisfy me. It is only about 2 weeks old and I'm a light user to begin with. This battery should still perform to its max. I'm posting in hope of finding someone who can get better use of it than I could. If anyone is interested you can check out the link below .

3300mAh Battery by Mugen Power

Hello fellow XDA peeps...
This just popped up on my Google Realtime Homepage
(which is, ofcourse, set to search for "Nexus S" results )
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/google/google-samsung-nexus-s/mugen-power-3300mah-extended-battery-for-google-samsung-nexus-s-with-battery-door.html
Yes, it's pretty expensive, would need a different battery door (read: no NFC), and probably adds quite some weight..
but - it won't run out on you that easy
On a separate note - does any one have tips for a good replacement/swap battery that I could buy?

Yeah for sure, I want to compare battery life on both (obviously ) - bulk on both - time of charging taken for both - usability on both - if it's really necessary in the end, to be honest, I'm fine with a phone that gets me through 1 day, since I can just charge at night.
However I could see myself using something like this on a road trip where I'd be using phone nonstop or perhaps to tether to my MacBook.
Suggestions are welcomed

so true! I think most people generally follow that same rule, if you can get through 1 day on heavy usage, then battery life will be acceptable, anything short of that is where you begin to hate your phone since you have to carry charger/extra batteries lol

While we're on the topic of batteries, they both can be rejuvenated via microUSB. Thoughtfully, Columbia includes a single wall adapter with two USB ports, as well as two USB charging plugs. That means that a single wall socket can charge both packs up, and yeah, it'll charge your Nexus One and Garmin PND if you ask it to. Another killer addition is the inclusion of worldwide power sockets; if you're the type who jets off to Switzerland or France to catch some fresh powder, your charger will come prepared. A nice touch, indeed. Furthermore, one of the internal batteries has a USB port that can be used to charge any USB-enabled smartphone or PMP so long as you supply the cable, which is certainly helpful for those on the slopes with a dying iPod touch.

most likely eBay or Craigslist.
I was pretty fond of it but didn't like the development that was going on around there. All the ROMs were based off internal Samsung Froyo leaks and development was limited because Samsung took forever to release Froyo (kernels were closed-sourced, only kernel available was the I9000 and vibrant kernels based off I9000 kernels were awful battery life). This leaded me to getting a Nexus S and i don't regret it. Only thing I really miss are the video codecs, at the moment 720p mkv play fine but no audio is being outputted.

[Q] Fake battery?

Hey,
I purchased a battery on Ebay for like 8$.
Shipped from Germany and claims to be genuine.
My tests:
Weight- Old genuine battery 33 grams, New battery 35 grams.
The stickers probably weigh a little bit so the battery supposed to weigh even less than 33.
Voltage- Old is about 4.078V at 100% charge, New is about 4.123V at 100% charge.
I don't really see a huge improvment in battery life although my old one 3.5 year old one.. Yet it's not worse for sure..
The old one has to be genuine since I got it with my device from a big cell phone provider store.
I uploaded pictures of them both. My old one (with stickers on it on the first image) and the new one (with the "original" sticker).
Thank you.
PS: scanning the QR on the old one gives "GH43-03441A+EB575152VU".
Scanning the new ones QR gives its serial number instead.
German quality should be good.

"Should be".. But how is it in my case?
The seller also sells these batteries from Spain too.. So I dont know how it's done and how "German" are they..
Anyhow they are made in Korea.. So it's doesn't really matters.
Do the states and looks seem ok?
i've already had 3 batteries, the stock battery, then a polarcell and now a Anker, and as far as i can see i need to recharge every evening, so i can't say the autonomy is improving!
However, since i run CM rom, i feel that the battery consumption is huge, whenever i browse the internet while on 3g!

Hey,
Thanks for the comment and trying to help.
But TBH I didn't really get the point in your words and how it answers any of the questions.
Hey,
The one thing that's really throwing me off here is in the 3rd to last picture, which shows the top of the battery - 3 small grooves instead of 2.
To compare and see whether there is any variation I did a check with both my S3 batteries and they're identical at the top. I can't get hold of my mother's Galaxy S right now so I can't compare how her batteries look (one was bought recently and the other was from 2010).
However I'm thinking that a genuine battery would look identical at the top as well.
Hope that helps, but someone with a better knowledge of these batteries will be able to tell you more.

Hi there,
I'm in New Zealand and my battery looks exactly like your original, made in china etc.
and has the 3 patches on the bottom edge.
your new battery looks close enough to me, it looks good, it fits the phone and it works.
the question I see is for $8 does it matter if its a fake?
(not really helpful in identifying a fake, just my opinion)

i've had my share of batteries, and they are all the same as far as battery life in real conditions is concerned!
The interesting part in your pictures is in fact the manufacturing date! Since it reads that it was manufactured in 2014, maybe the differences come from a manufacturing process that has changed (improved?) over time. At the very least you could consider yourself lucky that they did not ship you a 2010 battery, because i don't think batteries do age well.

Hey mate,
Did you mean "the buttom" insted of "the top"?
Because if you are talking about the picture with the buttom of the batterires where you can see 2 patches on one and 3 on the other, then it's the buttom of the battery.
The one with 3 patches is the original one and the one with 2 is the new one.

That's what I thought, that the proccess might have changed or something.. Maybe just different factories make different looking batteries (small changes)..
Who knows?
I dont believe it's going to explode or anything.. Unless it ain't as good of a fake inside of the battery..
Thanks again

In fact considering that most of us do sleep with our phones next to our head, maybe she could consider herself..... rather lucky after all

Why is your battery so worn out? lol
And about the poor brod, fakes come in all kinds of shapes and qualities.. Who knows what kind of battery she bought..
Plus I dont think batteriess just tend to explode for no reason.. Extra heat would be a good sign for a risk of explosion.. As long as the battery is cool as the original and works as the original, I don't see any reason why it would do any damage.
I just want to find out if the battery is real cuz it's interesting to me. I wont throw it away if it isn't. It works just fine and cool.
Thanks

Why don't you simply ask the vendor to attach the guaranty of Samsung to the package. This is the only way you will know for sure if it is the real deal.
As far as i am concerned for things like that i always go for the real deal (i.e avoid Chinese products at all costs) even if it means paying an extra buck, because you know i don't have no spare legs!

I dont know.. I think that if Ebay sellers had any papers considering the battery they would add it.. I dont think they have any..
And all products are made in china.. Doesn't matter how much you pay for them.. You can't avoid it.
Again, batteries dont explode without a warning and genuine ones are not safe from exploding either..

More like a cinder block with that size case. Wow.
Thanks for the info though.
That's great! I would probably get that if I was keeping my g4
What's that, about 10 pounds?

Bad topic!
looks like they decreased it by 500mah vs the G3 and took out the included belt clip

If I can get 5 hours SOT with the stock battery about 13 hours with this one, that is ****ing impressive.

.84 inches is a thick damn phone to carry around. Part of me is telling me imwant. The other part says I don't want to carry it around. Especially when I have two spare batteries.
Say what you will, but I've had my old Galaxy S4 go over 6 days without a charge on one of their 7500 mAH batteries. it's not practical for everyone, but for specific situations it's quite useful.

Well I came from the nexus 6 which was my first nexus device and the development on a nexus device can really spoil you. So I'm thinking I'm going to jump to one of the new nexus devices that launch soon.
Ordered mine hehe
I would like to get it, but its WAY too big for me. Maybe 4500 MaH, 5000 MaH, or 5500 MaH would be the sweet spot for me. As good as 7500 MaH sounds, its just way too big for me.
The note 3 one was too big lol
So now I'm torn between the mophie and zero lemon because this thing NEEDS a battery. The dies wayyyyyyy to fast
