In battery ?
Thank you
A quick search in the general IncS section would bring you to the same topic you just posted, The answer is deppends on what you are using it for, what brightness of screen you use, which OS do you want and the list goes on and on and on.
ARHD4.0
In terms of Battery , Performance and stability, go for Android Revolution HD 4.0 !
its the best i have tried ! nothing is needed !
just flash it ... tweak those parts which u want and its all good with stock look and stock kernel ...which doesnt causes any errors ... ever !
if u talk abt other flashing stuff ...i dont prefer ..untill everything is working ! like wifi , calls , bluetooth ...! so i found ARHD 4.0 IDEAL ROM for daily purpose !
Sir there is not such thing 'best rom or best kernel or whatever'.
Try them for yourself and find out which one suit your needs better.
And is the wrong place to post a question .This is development forum.
Thanks and thread closed.

Hi guys...I'm Italian and my english is not perfect...excuse me! I have a Samsung Galaxy S and I want to mod it...I think that my phone is not fully exploited... I need a ROM that exploits it. My parameters of choice are stability, sensitivity and speed... What is the ROM that you suggest me? Thanks guys!
All new roms based on jpy are really fast and awesome. Just read the features of all the roms and choose one.
My favorite ; darky"s rom
The best rom is always someone else's rom. ..

You're right.
@OP
If you want a modular ROM where you can add pieces of components together, go for Doc's ROM.
If you want a great JPY ROM, go for Jim_Panse's ROM.
You can switch between ROMs as you like
Happy flashing & merry X-Mas!
I started of with the Darky ones, runs fast and smooth. Except for crappy GPS but thats not his fault, just samsung that ****ed somthing up.
Havent tried DOC's one though.

I think in terms of speed, all JPY ROMs are the same.
It's just about the customizing the ROM chef did
Not another best rom thread
We appreciate your willingness to start playing around with your android phone. However, to fully have the android experience, you will have to do what most of us do and that is flashing roms. Lots of them. Then you will know yourself which one you prefer.
BTW, this questions should be in the General section, not Development.
First you need to mention a few things more , like the firmware versions you are curently running.
Anyhow , Your first choice should be the official kies update that you may have in Italy at the moment. Maybe if you has in an eclair rom and you update to froyo is enough for your needs. Latest roms as said before are very good in terms of stability, sensitivity and speed.
If you need something beyond that , i would suggest Darkys rom ( no offence to the other guys ) which is easy to upgrade to and had a lot of goody's pre-installed
After that you should be able to fully understand the differences of every rom and make your choice.
Almost all guys here support their roms ( updates ) , they have detailed instructions , FAQ e.t.c. and you can also be helpful too , as a 4rth layer tester*
*
1rst layer = creator
2nd layer = mod creators that the rom include
3rd layer = Testers following the rom that know most of the common issues
4rht layer(us) = Testers that have fully read and understand the instructions and despite following them to the letter , they experience some kind of bug , so they report it
P.S. no actual layers exist , i just made them up to explain
IMO, i'd say last Darky's rom and Doc's.
hi you all...
first of all i have to thanks all the devs that help people with their mods...
I have a few questions that maybe someone else can have them too...
- What is the difference (it terms of capcability to be modded) between stock JPY and Doc's or other cooker JPY?
- i tryed a few mods and some of them "kill" my phone soo i have to reflash the stock rom... most of them related to battery % (i think that could be related to the mod be designed for modded roms)
- what mods do you recommend to stock ROM... (i'm searching for extended power menu, and 4 locks... since i already have android stock lock and % at battery indicator)... i'm also searching for ginger battery indicator with %.
- should i change (and how to) to a modded ROM?
I do some research before make this post, but i think that could be a very good help to people who have the stock rom.
Thanks and Regards,
Carlos

Stock is as came from the factory cooked roms have been changed in one way or the other generally for better usage .

If a mod killed your phone you have done something wrong more often than not

Just read the main posts is all you can do see what is being offered in each rom .

I know-all that. But I ask for help so if you wanna help good, if you not, please don' t reply. It's all very simple for you, but I made this thread with the intention of merge all info on one post.
About the kill, I know I don't do anything wrong, simply the mod was probably designed for deodex ROM and original ROM is odex

its impossible to tell you the 'best' rom for SGS there is no best, its all down to what the user wants from the rom...
give me a list of things that you would like and i will try and suggest a 'good' rom for your needs.
there are loads of roms out there, ones for speed, ones for battery, ones for customization, the list is endless........

Like JJEgan I think the kitchen of Doc is perfect. You can create the rom you want !
If you want a small rom, just don't check any apps !
Look at the thread in "developement" names something like "kitchen school" ;-)
well i had a look on it its seems intresting.. well could u tell me a rom which have some nic animation & which have good bettary life
they all have good battery life if you keep it as close to stock as possible... the more addons you choose the more battery will be consumed. but there are many ways to increase battery life. look in the general section for Yet another battery drain YABD
hello guys i am a proud owner of ob for about o month and after playing with the stock rom i am looking for a custom rom.
i previously owned an samsung omnia 2 windows mobile phone with a wide selections of roms of every kind to play with. for ob i only find about cyanogen rom and nova rom.
i am looking for performance and maximizing the battery. i read about nova that is a light rom with a lot of tweaks but it is based on android 2.2. on the other hand i read that android 2.3 is a little bit faster and better for the battery and cyanogen is based on 2.3 and it has more potentials for tweaks than nova. what is your opinion? is there any other rom that i should consider? should i consider the stock 2.3 chinese rom that has some bugs?
and one final thing i want to ask. i read that with smart flash u can flash to the stock rom. from what i read it can unbrick your phone or replace the custom rom if i don't like it (in that impossible case!!!). i just want someone to confirm that.
thanks in advanced guys!!!!
1 post.. did u even used search?
Best at the moment is zeus rom

Best ROMs are suggestive. Go into the Development forum and start reading. I look for the ROM with the most active developer. Do your own research and you'll learn a lot.
Hi friends,
Am using Xsp, can anyone suggest me a best stock or custom rom for my device? Am experiencing lots of bugs in my stock 4.3,,, between am in rooted and unlocked bootloader,,, Thanks in Advance....
I Test All Roms and Already my rom is ExistenZ black v1.0.5 .
for best performance go to setting-existenz-overclocking-memory and set minfreetaskkiller on light or very light . allthing are ok with this tweak and this rom .
We do not allow best/rom kernel threads on XDA. What's best for someone else may not be what's best for you. Best advice is to head over to the development section, try some out and see which best suits your needs.
