Hi Folks
Well, here start the great thread of graphics tutorials.
I open this thread at first because I want to share a tutorial with a friendhere, then I think about made it my tutos thread. But, hey ! Why not turn this thread in a bible here on XDA by sharing yours here too
Rookie or expert if you want to try or share your tips, this is the place to post.
Only recommandation : if you post, add a title with the concerned software like [PS] or [GIMP] or else for better user experience.
I go on with a first one...? Let's get straight to it !

How to make a gradience from color to tranparent (or another color) ?
Like I did to create this effect on this Mint Rounded Iconset.
We are going to work on a layer style options. I do it this way to have full control on the gradient effect.
In my exemple I add a background layer (Towelie ) for this effect to be more explicit to you.
First, create a white round shape (press U key, select shape tool each tools have a key assigned).
Tips : shift+key and you will navigate thru "sub-tools".
On the layer list double click on the shape to enter layer style.
In the style window, click on the gradient label to enable it and enter gradient style settings (should appear on the right side of the window),
On the gradient style settings, click the gradient color to open gradient editor window
Everything we have to do (or most part of it) is in this editor window.
1 - click on the left starting color,
2 - pick a color if needed,
3 - click the opacity control,
4 - change opacity,
Do these 4 steps for the ending color. Knowing that you can add steps (colors) to your gradient by clicking under the gradient preview, delete steps by click / hold / swipe away.
Ok now I validate all my settings, here is what I get now after I set my gradient from pure white to pure black each with 20% opacity.
We see the 20% black but not the 20% white, obviously because white is the color of the shape itself.
... But how can I turn this to let my wallpaper appear ?
Here is one of my favorite and not that much used tips.
1 - return to layer style window, ensure the "merge options : default" is highlighted in left column,
2 - then, as you all know, in RGB pure black is 0, pure white is 255. So we're going to ask the layer to display only color between 0 and 250. By setting the slide to 250 (as seen on the following screen capt).
3 - Valide, et voilà !
Tips : Regarding the slide button you set at 250 on previous step 2, This method is very usefull to deep-etch models hair !
Just click ALT key before click /slide the little triangle button, this will split it in half and you can tweak it to your needs.
imagine now I put on top of this gradient another white shape with drop shadow + gradient inverted effects...
Ok you've got the idea ? Now go create !

and then how to customize this base with clipping mask and fusion mode to create an iconset !
Thank you to BBB for the inspiration, but I finally don't took your button, and wanted to show you guys how to quickly create it too.
So bonus for you here

Tutorial made with Photoshop
[PS6] Tutorial made in Photoshop CS6
First open new doc like 600x290 for the dimensions and 96dpi for the resolution
Tips : on old screen dpi was 72, but now we have some nice IPS and LCD screens we raise the default to 96dpi,
In order to "dress" your creation you can made a gradient background like I did (layer effect gradient set to radial gradient).
I also add some Noise (Filter > Add Noise) but not too much.
Now create a round shape in the middle of your doc.
Press U (to select shape tool) select the round one, now click in the middle of your document then press shift+alt and slide bottom right
(normally a perfect round must grow from the middle of your screen)
... And as we want to develop good habits you will name the layer "base"
Now double click the shape layer to enter layer styles,
- select the gradient overlay effect (1)
- set the style to angle mode (2)
- then click the gradient overview to open gradient editor (3)
Now set the gradient like this :
Click under the preview to add steps to your gradient then change the colors.
press alt+click/slide to duplicate step.
(Shouldn't be a problem for you now you followed the first tutorial your a gradient chief )
Ok, now your steel button start to look like something
Now, just give it a real brushed steel look by adding some noise.
Press CTRL and click the shape layer in this specific zone,
(This will make a selection of your actual round shape).
Now look at the bottom of your layer list and create/add new layer by clicking this bottom icon.
Your selection is still active on the highlighted new layer so now,
press CTRL + Return to fill the selection with white (background color).
(tips press CTRL + Return to fill with background color (default white) / press ALT + Return to fill with foreground color (default black))
Now you should have another white round layer on top of "Base" layer.
- Select Filter > Noise > Add Noise,
- Select Uniform, then set amount around 50%.
- Press Ok.
Now click Filter > Blur > Radial Blur
- Set amount around 100, the blur method to Spin, and quality to Best
- Press Ok.
Now you can press CTRL+D this will desactivate your selection (not needed anymore),
and set the layer fusion mode to multiply.
Fusion Mode is a drop down menu, it's located at the top of your layer list, at the left of your opacity setting (it's set to normal by default).
tips : you can navigate throught your fusion mode by pressing SHIFT+ALT+ + or - and see live result on your document
you can rename your new layer and, if needed, decrease the opacity if the top blur/noise layer if effect is too much (personnaly set my opacity to 70% after taking that screenshot).
Now, button need to be realistic, what about an edge !?
Double click the Base layer to enter layer styles
- Select Stroke (1),
- Set the size (2),
- Set position (3) I personaly choose Inner,
- Set fill with gradient (4),
- Set angle to 90° (5),
- Enter the gradient editor and set your gradient colors (6).
Now you should have something that looks like this :
Last thing concerning the button, the shadow.
- Press CTRL and click the base layer shape to make that shape your selection again,
- create new layer then press ALT + Return to fill the new layer (with round selection) with black (foreground default color),
- press CTRL + D to desactivate selection.
- Then select Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur
- Set it to 4.0, hit Ok.
- Move the layer down a bit.
Now you should have something like this :
Ok Steel button done Now let's quickly customize it !
First, hide the background (we don't need it no more)
Ok, now choose an app icon. I took Gmail one.
- now open your icon image and insert it in your steel button document (on top of all your layers)
- change the app icon layer fusion mode to multiply.
- right click on your app icon layer (in the layer list), then choose create clipping mask,
(this will automatically hide the part of the app icon layer that is out of the layer beneath) et voilà !
... Be curious, Photoshop is a great tool, this tutorial is not just an "how to". You will surely reproduce the tutorial, keep in mind that Photoshop is nothing without the main ingredient : your overflowing creativity
It's 5:00 am here, my creativity needs a rest, have a good night !

**UPDATE (v2)**

**UPDATE (v3)**
[new (most likely final) UPDATE AUGUST 07]
...changed contact edit view (see screen preview right below)

version above is black. Blue version is blue tinted where this is black tinted (header, bottom soft keys etc)

...Press "Select theme" and choose "htctoucher wm7-inspired black" in the drop down menu
...Restart PocketCM (you may not have to do this step, but it is recommended. First load may be slow, but second will be very fast (new version caches images)
there is a blue as well as a black version (black version in preview)

**almost every button has a popup.. just hold down a button and find out what is hidden!**
***PocketCM Keyboard INSTRUCTIONS***
...Drag the two files included in the .zip attached into your PCMKeyboard folder on your device
...Go into PCMKeyboard options by holding down the *return key* and navigating to the "Opt." button
...Under "Keyboard layout" choose "Eng htctoucher most" in the drop down menu
...Under "Keyboard skin" choose "htctoucher wm7-inspired" in the drop down menu
...If you want, change the feedback time etc., and once you are done, press ok to exit the settings
...You may have to reset your device, but probably not
EDIT:
The curved version shown in the preview in post#1 is the first attachment (htctoucher wm7-inspired skin.zip)
There is landscape support, but it does not look very good. If you like the curved top, you can't have it in landscape view until PCMKeyboard is updated to support landscape images!
The straight top version is the second attachment (htctoucher wm7-inspired skin straight top landscape support.zip)
As this says, it supports landscape, but has a straight top.
Enjoy!

Ive been talking to a guy who has an HTC Diamond (huey), and as soon as his device is fixed (apparently it is now in for repairs) we are going to make some VGA themes. Once we make one, it should be easy to churn out more because we will have the settings file as a base.
hopefully it doesnt take too long

Great job htctoucher I really liked v1 graphically but was missing the features added in pocketcm.25c as far as contact pic and the flip to contact info page. Then you added it into v2 and then v3 changed up the options page. Very excited to continue to use your theme, however, the only change I could forsee would be to make the time show in non-military time.
Very nice theme! I used the PointUI forever, and now think this one looks so sharp I had to switch. One question though...
Any way to make the bottom "link bar" on the contacts page dissappear? I don't really use it ever, and I really liked how it wasn't there on PointUI theme.
Thanks!
Problem on the Mogul
I keep getting a red screen when i switch to your theme. Help Pleasssse.

if that doesnt matter to you, though.. you can do the following:
to hide bottom bar change the following lines:
(Open settings.ini in notepad, press CTRL+F to use the find function.. find the following lines and change them to what you see below. When you are done.. press CTRL+S to save)
portrait.iconpanel.*.box=0,0,100%,100%
landscape.iconpanel.*.box=0p,0,100%,100%
if that doesnt work.. also change the following:
## main four buttons layout fav, sms, contacts, keypad
portrait.iconbutton.filterbutton.box=0,0,0,0
landscape.iconbutton.filterbutton.box=0,0,0,0

Ok, just as I suspected... now I can't get into options at all.... and this is what it looks like after editing all the above steps. When I did only the first step, it just had the orange ALL CONTACTS bar at the top, and still had the bar at the bottom. Now, it's gone nuts.
I have noticed a slight problem I think at least on my phone. The icons seem to be a bit ...off. When I click the icon that takes you to the options area (AllContacts, Conatacts with SMS, Go to options....etc) You have to click slightly above the go to options icon otherwise it will click the little person with the magnify glass icon. I think it's only the very bottom bar though, not the rest of the icons.

Tapping System again brings up control panel
The Menu button on the far left is replaced by Home button, which closes the dock
IMPORTANT! Download the weather icons here: http://rapidshare.com/files/217925270/Concept_Moderne_Weather_Icons.zip
Also, I have found a small error on the weather page. Tomorrow's Forecast is not set right and is actually only reading off Today's Forecast.
Open the full weather page by clicking on the weather pic at the bottom of the Home Page.
Go to Author Mode and hold n' tap Tomorrow's Forecast text. The "Text to display" should read %MultiForecast1%. If yours is not, change it to that. Now your Tomorrow Forecast is going to show tomorrow's forecast.

AGENDA PAGE
Tap on HOME or on the clock on the left hand side to go back to the HOME PAGE

New Note: Opens up Window's Note app
Agenda: Opens up Agenda One
WEATHER PAGE

Reserved for future use
megabeautiful.
simply perfect.
Sorry, ive gotta dissagree with everyone else here. Its beautiful sure.. but isnt it a bit cluttered? and also it looks like its a tad unconventional and might be difficult to use. But still a very great looking UI
not good

I really like the layout, but I do think you could incorporate more of a color theme to this to glue everything together a bit better. Another item to note is the use of (or lack of) docks.. The homepage has a lot going on which could be solved with a top down swipe to remove some clutter. Music integration with song information would be nice as well.

Can you go more in details in what you are mentioning? I believe I do have a color theme going: white, light grey, dark grey, and orange. Do you see something else otherwise or lacking?
As for the docks, the Software, System, and Contacts button on the bottom open up their own perspective docks. The Agenda and Weather has their own docks. What other docks/features do you propose? What do you consider with the top-down swipe?
Music integration is something I will add later. The only thing is that there is no relatively universal music integration for the main apps out there. I use exclusively Pocket Player, in which I can add the fast forward, rewind, play/pause buttons. Other people wants S2P, Nitrogen, Core Player, or WMP. Perhaps, there's an app that can mimic A2P functions?

Ok, can you go further with that? In what ways is it not good? How can it be improved?
excellent theme very different from the usual.
great work
thanks for the effort you have put in.
need some installation instruction though it does not show on my atom as it does on the post.
where do we put the other 2 files.
It does abit annoy me though that you havn't even mentioned where you got the "inspiration" for this theme from. Atleast credit the original creator.

Sorry, I had this thread in the WAD2 forum, where the original Concept WAD for Omnia was pretty well known. I did update my first post to include that thread: http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15005
As you can see, I was inspired by the theme and color palette, but my overall design is very different from the original Concept Omnia version.

Which 2 files are you having problems with? The folder "Concept Moderne" goes under \Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance Desktop\Themes
The folder "Concept Moderne Images" goes under \Storage Card\Wisbar Advance Desktop\
I posted my remarks in the WAD2 forum, but to keep the xda community informed, here are my remarks: I am so incredibly impressed with your design work, your graphics and the WisBar software. The software alone has opened a new world. My problem is I don’t understand the WisBar programming technique enough to know how or where to “program” it to have the same outcome and appearance as your design would dictate, and frankly I don’t have the time to teach myself. I am a computer hacker so I know a fair amount, but not the intricacies of a new program like WisBar. Can you find time to describe in slightly more detail, in what directories (or even if you have to make new directories) how to make my phone operate as the YouTube demo I watched. I think your knowledge would be a real gift to the community.

I know there has been a little talk about it, but does anyone know of a WVGA version of either jamboj0e or destri's theme?
Not that I think I will get time to do it, but if there isn't a WVGA version would either of you mind if I had a go as a homage!

(Seeing as there's no General Thread for tablets, I've re posted this here.)
Hey guys I finally ported my "hubs" set up to Android Tablets and I have to say its 10x smoother on our 1.0 ghz dual core device. The general idea of "Hubs" is to create a dedicated screen for each piece of media/productivity while providing a visual eye candy. "Hubs" is easy to emulate, and even easier to create your own style. Despite the lengthy tutorial, its actually easier than it seems. The fun part comes with setting up you layout!
What you'll need:
Main
Adw Launcer EX
Launcher Pro Plus
Multi Live Wallpaper
Minimalistic Text
Simple Text
Optional
Pulse (for widgets)
Cowon Clock/ BobClock Widget
Mizuu Movies
Launcher Pro Plus (Widgets)
Video Tutorial
Part I
Part II
FINAL
WALKTHROUGHADW Launcher Users[/U][/B]
-To remove top bar-Press and hold and empty area on your home screen then click on "Launcher Actions" > "Hide/Show Action Bars"
-Enable Widget Overlapping-"Menu"> "ADW Settings"> "UI Settings" > "Screen Preference"> Check "Overlap Widgets" in the Advanced Settings Tab
-Increase Retail Space on your screen-"Menu"> "ADW Settings"> "UI Settings" > "Screen Preference"> Increase the desktop "Rows" and "Columns" in the "Desktop Layout" Tab.
Launcher Pro Plus Users- while not optimized for 3.2, it still runs perfect.
-Increase Retail Space on your screen-"Menu"> "Preference" > "Homescreen Settings" > Increase the "Number of columns/rows" in the Homescreen Grid.
-Remove Icons From Right Dock- Hold your finger on the icon you wish to remove> "change shortcut"> "Blank"
*You may add screen transitions for each launcher if you wish, however my advise is to leave it at default as you can set transition for Multi Live wallpaper. Doing both launcher and MLW will make your screen look "too busy" IMO.
To set the "Bars" (Titles for "Home", "Music", "Movies" etc.)
Minimalistic Text
-To set title- Press and hold a free space on the screen > "widgets" > "Minimalistic Text" (size may vary per style however I use either 4x2 or 6x1 as long as its horizontal > ensure that "background color" is checked > "Predefined Layout" > "Custom" > "Custom Layout" > Click on the plus sign > "Misc" > "Static Text".
-Black Bar Tutorial click here
Wallpapers
-Set up - Load up your wallpapers on your sd card/internal memory and placing them into seperate folders and name them based on the images (ex. Music, Movies, Games etc)
- Long press an empty screen on your homescreen > "Wallpapers" > "Live Wallpapers"> "MultiPicture Live Wallpaper"> "Settings"
- For each "Screen _ Settings" Select the picture source as "Picture Folder" and navigate it to point to your corresponding homescreen.
- Additionally you make select the screen transition here that reflects your particular taste. You may also set a default wallpaper for your lockscreen.
Despite the dozen of widget on the homescreen and live wallpaper, battery use is minimal.I have provided wallpapers below to help you get started.
NAVIGATING BETWEEN HUBS
There are two methods in which you can navigate to each individual homescreen.
Method one: Prior/Alternate way for navigation text was achieved using this methodby trekkie0927. Using invisible icons in tandem with minimalistic text can make it easier to flip to each hubs. Please rate/comment his video.
Method two: I found a great alternative to Minimalistic Text in terms of using the text buttons to jump from one screen to another called Simple Text. Since it's only an icon and not a widget, it consumes no memory and provides a great minimal look.
User AcIdC0R3 has posted a great tutorial. (Please thank him!)
Make sure you have ADWLauncher EX
Go to the market and install Simple Text
Long press on the screen and select 'Custom Shortcut'
'Pick your activity', select 'Launcher Actions'
Choose which screen you want, 1 - 5 or 1 - 7 if your using seven screens
Click on the picture of the 2 screens side by side
Select 'ADWTheme IconPacks' and select 'Simple Text'
Select the grey box named 'Simple'
replace the word 'Simple' with whatever of your choosing like 'Video' for your video hub or 'Social' for your social media hub and so forth
Adjust your text size, Y and X coordinates, your shadow settings etc.
Click the little blue 'A' in the top right side of the screen and select your font (more on fonts further down)
You also have the option to select the color wheel next to the 'A' and adjust your text color
Select the menu icon on the task bar at the bottom and select 'Save Style' if you want to keep what you created for later use as well.
Click 'Save Icon' which will create your icon for you
Back at the black edit screen remove the text from the text field and click OK
You should now have a custom text icon that will activate whichever screen you chose for it. You can click any app icon on your screen and follow the same procedure for your apps so all your apps also have text icons.
[FONTS] In a file manager go to /sdcard/Simple Text/ and create a folder named 'fonts' (that is plural with an 's' at the end). Next go to somewhere like dafont.com and download you some kewl fonts and place them within that 'fonts' directory you just created. Now when you go into Simple Text to do your editing you will have more fonts to choose from.
That's all there is to it.
You can also work with layers within the creation of your Simple Text. Notice below where I created a new layer, rotated my new text layer and intersected where both words have the letter 'E'.
However you may notice that simple text does have it's limitations:
Icons can only be 1x1
Works best on adw
No way to resize; it is only an icon after all.
Miscellaneous
ISSUE: You may experience widget being placed "behind" the black bars. If so try this method provided by user SwiftLegend
1. Put the widgets/icons you want on TOP of the blackbar FIRST. You need these before anything.
2. Select a Minimalistic Text Widget, I usually use 1x1. Clear out the text options (Predefined layout > Custom, delete all of the things there)
3. Once you're back at your homescreen and see the MT Widget, just long press and re size it to your liking.
You HAVE to make sure that whatever you want on TOP of the blackbar is put on the screen FIRST. Anything put on after will go underneath.
ISSUE 2: Users have reported that Minimalistic Widget refuses to post/ show up on the homescreen.
1. Turn your tablet into portrait mode.
2. Add the widget whilst staying in portrait mode as you apply you designs.
3. Rotate back to landscape.
ISSUE 3: You can no longer take full advantage of the screen real estate using adw ex (particularly the corners)
1. Recent update kills the use of every inch of the screen. In his attempt to emulate ICS, anderwebs made the edges of the screen inaccessible.
2. Revert back to an older version (1.3.3)
here's the original layout from the nook color if you guys are interested on putting this on your homescreen HERE
and here it is in action HEREhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8DxCVzARfE&fmt=38

I can't get Multipicture to work. I have my wallpapers in path: sdcard/DCIM/Wallpapers
Within that Wallpapers folder I have 5 folders. Each folder is named and contains one wallpaper image. I go to set the live wallpaper and point each screen to it's corresponding folder and when I click set I don't get anything. I get a black screen telling me I have to set it up in settings. It's frustrating because I can't for the life of me figure it out. Did I put the images on the wrong path? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was advised a few weeks back that the full sizes of the first versions of these icons - pretty much what's seen in the sample layout below the version pics in this post - are too small when applied using DVR in certain setups. All versions except the pink are up and resized. Also in progress is a DVR TUT, stay tuned. These newly bigger ones look best at a 2 row 1 column ratio, and the DVR option you select for widget size - 2x1, or 4x2, or 6x3 - should be closest to the display size you want in advance. Resizing am icon from 2x1 to a 4x2 will stretch the image, but selecting 4x1 and expanding it 1 row will do the trick for a larger icon. Please let me know if this makes sense
Here's V1.2: grey toned buttons with colored glyphs. Contains the same icons as V1.1R
V2.1R & 2.2R
V4.1, .2, & .3: White, Color, and Smoked Glass
V3 is Monochrome Glass

Please post your screens or links to them - I'd love to see what you've done with the icons
On applying the icons: I use a photo editing program to put the icons on whichever screens I'd like, directly on the wallpaper. Not only can I then space the icons however I please, but this also allows for different wallpapers on different screens.
One of the easiest ways to apply whatever icons you'd like (without a computer, or on your phone) it to use Desktop Visualizr: these icons will come out best at 2 rows wide by 1 tall, depending on your layout. I am in the process of writing a very in depth TUT on doing so for a variety of setups, so please stay tuned Here are the very basics
1. You can save the icon image(s) to your SD card and apply it as a widget anywhere on the screen. 2x1 works best. Long press, choose DVR 2x1, select the image on the prompt, and selection the app/action that corresponds to it.
You can apply the icons to wallpaper via photo editing, then simply use transparent .png pictures to put your shortcuts/apps in the areas over the paper using DVR.
Here are some tutorials and discussions: click, clicky, click, clicky, and click.
If you haven't seen PaulMZ's Windows Phone theme for Android over at Android Forums, his first post gives a huge amount of great info on Desktop Visualzr and image editing for custom icons on your homescreen.
To use different wallpapers on different screens, there are two applications I know of to do this, both free on the market: MultiPicture LiveWallpapers and Super Wall Lite. I prefer Super Wall because it hogs less memory and it MUCH more stable in my experience. Please ignore the bad ratings: those were given by users who were not informed about how to apply the super paper: you must access the app via the 'Live Wallpapers' setting on your phone; the same is true for MultiPicture.
There is another benefit in using 'panoramic papers' of Super Wall- that is, one extra wide paper styled to use on mutliple screens. In MultiPicture, however, you must apply one paper to each screen. Since I am always changing screens, and can often be testing icons and themes on 7 screens at one, I prefer the ease of Super Wall in just making one big paper to span all the screens.
If you aren't familiar with a lot of image editing practice, I am glad to apply the icons to a paper of your selection - just post the paper and which icons you'd like applied, along with your phone's resolution/model and your layoud grid for columns and rows.
If you like what I have done and would like to show your gratitude, Leo is pretty hungry...

Blank tiles for applying live info to are in the the post below and included in each set above (9/22).
Draft of Instructions for Live Tiles: more info/screens soon.
The font closest to what I used in the V1 icons is Jersey M54- click here to download from DaFont.
The font for the serif tiles is DejaVu Serif Condensed.
The best way to make 'live' tiles, frankly, is to apply the icons to your wallpaper, then put whatever text widgets you'd like on top. You can put the icon down as a widget using Desktop Visualizer then apply another text widget on top if your home launcher supports 'overlapping widgets' during customization. This will work...or it won't. Often, people say it works until the phone is rebooted - then presto, chango, the widgets are unstacked.
I am sure that some of you have mastered 'make your own widgets' like Chronotopia or M-clock, and can then use the icon as the backdrop with the desired text on top - I hope to give these or other similar apps a try in the near future, but I myself find it preferable just to mess with the wallpaper
There are blank email, gmail, call, sms, calendar and clock icons enclosed within all versions.
I have used SMS unreadcount mods on all the tiles- the easiest way is to apply the icons to your paper, then put a transparent icon for the SMS unreadcount bubble. I have done the same with ADW Ex notification bubbles, using ADW Ex to make the icon for the gmail/phone/sms icon a blank image over the top of the paper. I am glad to help out with this process

Sorry, I was just updating the thread with another color scheme and instructions.
Basically they icons are:
1. png's to apply to your wallpaper in a photo editor - put them wherever you want, then use transparent icons/shortcuts/widgets on top - a lot of people use Desktop VisualizR to do that.
2. Apply with Desktop VisualizR using the images as the actual widgets; you can use any image to as a widget/shortcut. This limits the size of the icon to whatever your grid layout is for you screen. So if your grid is a vageuly squarish setup - like 4 columns by 6 rows - then the image would be resized to fit in this space. That means you're somewhat restricted on how closely you can place icons/images together, and where they can go on your screen. That's why I personally use method 1.
3. Also, some home launchers (like ADW) will let you replace default icons with your own images. This has the same restrictions as 2.
I promise to do a step-by-step and link TUTs for this by tomorrow with screen shots.
In the meantime, I am happy to apply the icons to a wallpaper of your choice if you are familiar with using Desktop VisualizR- that allows you to put transparent shortcuts on top for anything you want. I would need your paper, grid layout, and phone model/resolution.
Come back soon for more, sorry for the delay MP

}
2. Touch your screen and select "widget".
3. Search "UCCW" widget and selected.
4. Search dimension if you need.
I choose for explanation "UCCW 4X4".
And here I think we must clarify some things.
Whatever launcher you are using, in his settings you will find "homescreen settings", where you can choose the number of collumns and rows you want to use on your screen.
It will form a grid on the screen.
You can create any configuration you want.
For my example, I choose a 4collumns and 8rows configuration, so I will show you how to arrange 2 4x4 skins on the screen.
I always work with the same settings of the screen.
- no statusbar
- no dock
- no margin (vert. and horiz.)
- disable nav bar
The example you see has those settings.
From the moment you start to create a skin you must decide what settings you will use.
There is no problem in using other settings, but if you share the skin with someone, that someone must respect you settings exactly for the skin to fit.
5. Once you open the 4x4 widget you will see "new" which you will select.
After you press the widget on the screen will open the work space.
Exiting the app, you'll see how the skin looks on the screen.
I always covered the entire 4x4 grid.
Press the skin and choose the "resize" option to see how does the skin fit the grid.
See how the skin sides must be resized.
6. Touch the skin and go back to editing.
Press "edit object" and select "background".
You will find all the options which you csn modify.
Search "dimensions" and select it.
With "width" you will resize the background's lenght and with "height" the height.
Increase the "width" till the skin fills the side margins.
Do the same with the "height" too.
Definitely you will retry many times, till you obtain the wanted result.
How do you check the dimensons during the edit ?
You always go back to the skin on the screen and press "resize".
You will see what modifications are needed "width" or "height".
When you reached the final form, go back to editing and press "save" - "save skin".
Rename it and press "ok".
In order to cover the entire screen add again the skin on the screen.
You will have two 4x4 skins.

Reserved 2
"octa" S4
Everytime at the begining, you must decide your screen settings.
My settings are:
4collumns and 8rows
no statusbar
no dock
no margin
disable nav bar
I decided to create 2 4x4 skins.
1. Add the widget on the screen ucc widget - uccw 4x4 - "new".
The 4x4 widget will appear on the screen, than you would have to resize it to fit your screen.
For this, go to "controls#3" and change "width" and "height".
2. Add in the skin "shape1" which you can fit by "x-0" and "y-0".
In "controls#4" set "width" 500 and "height" identicly with the height of the background you have created the first time.
Mine is 754.
In "controls#3" set "radius" 8 and "dx" 8. The color must be black.
("dx" moves the "shadow" horizontal and "dy" moves it vertical)
Add to skin "shape2", which you resize and position identicle with "shape1" without adding "shadow" in "controls#2" set "see trought effect".
4. Repet exactly the same steps for the second 4x4 skin used in your screen.
5. You will see a discontinuance of the "shadow" on the screen.
For corection you will have to move "shadow" for "shape1".
At the bottom skin; "controls#3" "dy" -7 (the shadow will rise).
At the top skin; "dy" +7 (the shadow will fall)
6. Now, to the right side of the skin, you will respect the used steps (1-5).
Add "shape3" to the skin, wich you will resize "width" 200 and "height" identic with the dimension used in "shape1".
At mine 754.
After redimensioning, fit it soldering to the right edge of the background.
For "shadow" use the same values as you did for "shape1" but "dx" will be with "-" and the "shadow" will come to left.
Add "shape4" and repet step 3.
7. For you to create "appdrawer" add to the skin another 6 "shapes" which you will resize 30x30 and fit them where they belong.
8. According to the wall used change the color of the skins background.
9. Add in the bottom skin "image1, 2, 3, 4".
Fit them as you want and select the "image" you want. ("controls#2", "image")
Resize if neded ("scale")
10. In the top skin add
Fit and resize them as you want (chose your own font)
11. With the "hotspot" you will make the skins functional.
Fit, resize and set the apps you want.
(For "appdrawer" select "shorcut" and chose "appdrawer shorcut" of the launcher that you use)
Finaly, enter uccw settings, select "lock widgets" and set it "on")
That's all !
I hope this will be helpfull for someone !

In this tutorial I will show you how to make a part of the screen, not all of it.
And with this knoledge you can make your own type of screen.
After you have set your screen settings (collumns and rows), add "UCCW" widget on the screen.
(For this type of screen I used 2 4x4 uccw skins on a 4 collumns 8 rows screen.)
After the widget is added on the screen, open it and add "image1"
Select "image1"
and resize it with "scale" from "controls#2
(You must use adequit images for "UCCW". For images I use DesktopVizualiseR app. DVRImageCrop)
With position "controls#1" you put it wherever you like.
Select and add "shape1", than press "sort" and drag "shape1" under "image1"
(As a rule, in "sort", in order, the last ones in the list, are the first that appear in front of your eyes.)
With "position" move "shape1" on top of "image1"
In "controls#4" resize "shape1" (width and height) till you cover completly "image1"
In "controls#3" set like this: radius 10, dy 20, dx -20 and chose a dark gray color.
After that press "sort" and change the order
The rezult is this one
Add "static text1" and arange in this order
With position set the text on top of the image and select color white for it (use whatever font you like)
As a visual trick for "static text", go to "controls#3" and set this way: radius 2, dy 3, dx 3, color black!
By learning those steps, you can create a full screen!
You can use whatever dimension, colors, fonts, radius, ... you want!
I hope this will realy help someone.
THANK'S !

Hi my friends!
UCCW app has changed the interface design, but still remains the same exceptional app.
This tutorial is made on the new interface.
I have decided to use the following settings for the screen:
- 4collumns and 8rows
- no statusbar
- no dock
- no margin
- disable nav bar
All those settings you set on your own launcher. (I use Apexpro)
I will start by creating two 4x4 skins.
Let's begin!
1. Add "uccw 4x4" widget on the screen, than edit (width and height) till it will cover the entire half of the screen.
The same with the other half, covering this way the entire screen.
I remain on my dimensions (848x754), perfect for my S4. Depending on your phone, change it till you obtain the wanted result.
2. Press the skin which you would like to begin with start the screen creation. (I present you the first one, top of the screen).
By pressing "add/remove objects" you'l see the entire list of "things" you can add to the skin.
Select "shape1" and press "close".
"Shape1" appears on the screen and for editing it you must select "edit objects".
A list with what you can edit will appear.
Select "shape1" and you will see the entire list with what you can modify at "shape1".
With "position" you will set "shape1" leaving a widther margin on horizontal than vertical.
With "width" and "height" set your own wanted measurements, so as the terminations for "shape1" to be identicle with the termination for the "background".
3. Now we will try to give effect to the skin.
Now back to "add/remove objects" and add "shape2".
After "shape2" appears on the screen, select "edit objects" - "shape2" and start editing.
With "width" we slim it very much (I set it at 40).
With "height" we make it longer at almost twice the height used at "shape1". (I used "shape1" 724 and "shape2" 1400).
We press "style" and select "oval".
Set "shape2" where we want with "position", than we go to "shadow" and edit: "radius 10" and "dx -10" (the shadow will go to left) and select a dark gray color.
Now we go back to "sort objects" and change the order. "Shape2" first and than "shape1" (drag "shape2" over "shape1").
Press save.
This is the rezult.
4. For the "window" effect we go back to "add/remove objects" and add "shape3" which we will redimension and set it identicly with "shape1".
Afther this is done, we add "special effects".
This is the rezult.
5. In order to make your work (editing) eazyer, my advice to you is to remove the "effect" from "shape3" (readd it at the end).
We go back to "add/remove objects" and add "shape4".
Set "shape4" in the right part of the screen, slightly higher than "shape1".
We are going to add "roundness" half of the setted "width" ("width" 200, "roundness" 100).
For the height, we can't stop anymore at the "background's" margin because of the round shape.
And so we are going to make "height" bigger with at least the dimension of theused round shape ("roundness" 100; "height" +100).
At "shape4" will set "shadow" 2 and chose the color black.
6. For the effect to be created, "shape5" and "shape6" must be added, which we will set exactly as "shape2" (the one with which we created the first effect) but we will set them under "shape4".
The "shape" set in the left will have "dx" with minus, so the one in the right will have "dx" with plus.
7. Go back to "shape3" and readd the effect.
Depending on the wall you use, chose a color for "shape4".
The skin from the bottom is identicle with the one from the top.
You will create them identicle (in the mirror).
After your screen is finished, add anything you want in the skin (image, text, hour, ... )
Do not forget to remove the "effect" from "shape3" till the end of your work when you can addit back.
That is it!

+1 same here, could you do-post that here pls?
Finnaly I got a phone on which I can realize this tutorial.
I made this on a Nexus4.
You just have to understand the steps and the idea of how this is done and than you can apply them on whathever phone you have.
At my skins you always have to respect some settings, in particular the dimensions (collumns and rows) so it can fit your screen.
After i seted the launcher on the needed dimensions (5collumns and 10rows) , I downloaded the skins and put them on the screen, the rezult was this one.
There are 5 5x2 skins. You can see that the margins are uncovered.
The first step is to create a 5x2 skin, made to fit your screen, so that when you attach them together they cover your entire screen.
Why so ? Because you will know the background's dimensions (whidth and height), which you are going to use on modifyng the skin.
Open the skin you want to start with (I chose the one on the bottom) and in the background settings (whidth and height) set the numbers you have used in the 5x2 skin realized earlier.
This is the rezult
Now you can see how the skin's background covers the screen.
For you to go on from here, you must know which is which (shape1,2..., image1,2..., text1,2...).
To know them I recomand you to use "opacity" (minimum - maximum on every objects).
Knowing which is shape1, try to move it where is belongs and reduce it's height to fit your skin.
The next step is to resize the image to fit the skin.
With position and reduceing it's dimension (scale) try to move it where it belongs.
We go back to shape1 to reduce whight, to fit the image.
Next, modify static text 1, reduce it's dimension and with position, move it where it belongs.
Next, pozition and resize the "hot spot" by changing width and height and move it where it belongs.
After creating the first "button", put in line the other two as well.
In my atempt to modify the skin, trying to resize shape 2 and 3, I realized that shape 1 was to big for them to fit the screen together.
From the next pic you will see the error.
(Shape 3 smaller than 1,2)
I told you this because it is normal not to get the right dimensions from the first time.
You can solve this by changing shape1's width so that shape 2,3 fit.
By making shape 1 smaller , obviosly we must resize the image that coresponds to shape 1
We will go on by getting the rest of the images to their spot , as well as the coresponding text
We will end by placeing the "hotspot" to the buttons
The final result is this one
Continueing to do as you learned with all the skins, you will get the final result, the entire screen.
