Hey fellas,
Got my hands on the new Speck FitFolio case for the Nexus 7. As the name states, this is a folio style case that offers great protection and also added functionality. Due to the hard plastic and leather design, your Nexus 7 is kept safe and snug within the case. Similarly, you can use the included flaps to prop your Nexus 7 up into several angles for typing and viewing movies, which comes in really handy! Although the case is 35$, which is a premium price to pay, the high quality build and increased functionality really make it a compelling buy.
Check out the full video review below;
Its a great little case, I love mine. You can get them on amazon for $19.95. For that price, well worth it.

Thanks guys. It's definitely the best I've used for the Nexus 7 so far.
good review and it look pretty solid for the price
I got mine in on the 23rd as well and the quality of the case blew me away, by FAR the nicest case for any phone or tablet I've seen. Very ultra premium look and feel and functionally it does exactly what it should.
Another benefit is when its closed it looks more like a notebook/journal than any kind of device so its a little safer sitting out. I would recommend this case to anyone without hesitation.
I have this case and love it as well, but I have to say the quality control isn't the best. My first case looked amazing from the front, but on the back, the part where the plastic shell meets the leatherette front flap wasn't the neatest looking. Not terrible, just a bit of excess glue and the upper left corner wasn't glued in uniformly and there was a small section that was raised up. I ordered a replacement case, and that one was perfect looking all the way around, but the magnet must have been in a different position because it never woke my screen. I ordered a third replacement case, and that one had an even uglier back than the first one, with lots of little uneven areas where the flap wasn't glued neatly to the case.
I'm not expecting perfection or anything, but 3 cases with 3 quality issues is kind of a bummer, so I emailed Speck to let them know, and ask if there was a way to ensure I'd get a case without any issues if I took the plunge and ordered a 4th one.
I never heard back from them, so I decided just to keep the first one since it was the best of the 3, and return the other two, but I still wish I would have received SOME kind of response, even if it was just a "There's always going to be small defects because X manufacturing process" or "We weren't aware of any quality control issues, we'll look into it", or even "Sorry, we can't guarantee you'll get a case without some raised edges/extra glue/a functioning magnet, etc." Any response at all would have been nice.
It's still my favorite Nexus 7 case so far, I just wanted to let people know that the quality control might be a little lacking. It seems like nobody else has been reporting any issues with their case, but I think 3 for 3 might be indicative of an issue. Either that or I'm just insanely unlucky.

It sounds like either you're insanely unlucky or I'm terribly lucky! I was sent out 3 for review from Speck, and all of them are in great condition. Some of my viewers have purchased the case as well, and haven't mentioned any issues. I would continue trying to get a functional model, Speck is usually great with their customer service.

I just received this case in the mail today and thought I'd share my thoughts with you all.
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-ELEMEN...qid=1346087013&sr=8-3&keywords=poetic+element
I bought from Amazon and got it within a few days of it being shipped. The case looks and feels really high quality and doesn't add too much bulk at all as you can see in the images below. It also leaves all ports open, dock connectors, speaker openings, everything you should expect from a case made for the nexus 7.
I'm really pleased with the case. I hope I don't regret going with the white. I've had white cases before that just end up getting dirty and I'm unable to clean the dirt off. I can't comment on the claims that it reduces the devices heat levels, but everything else about this case is rock solid. One more thing I really like, is that it fits in my Exact brand folio case even while I have my hard case on. The one things I don't really care for are the Poetic logo on the back and that it doesn't cover the top and bottom of the trim. For that, I give it a 4/5 and not a 5. If any of you have any questions/comments/concerns about this case, I'd be more than happy to try and give my thoughts.

Thanks for the review.
But I dont like the back, it is ugly with that big Poetic text.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the big Poetic logo myself, but its still a really nice case for the price that you pay. I'm going to add that as a negative in my review.

This is the ideal case imo. Except for that ugly Poetic on the back as others have mentioned.
Here's my "First Look Video":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrmfbKQ--3Q
It is a very nice case. I highly recommend it. Maybe just not in white, the black looks quite sexy.
So I received my DODOcase last week and I've decided to write a review about the case for everyone.
You can find it here: DODOcase for Nexus 7
Price/Shipping:
First off, and the shipment was pretty quick to me. I was impressed since I ordered it on Monday and had it by Thursday. I believe they hand make these cases by order basis, and so to have it turned around in under a week was nice. The box it came in wasn't fancy lol. It was just a cardboard that was cut out and folded to protect it from shipment damage. It did its job though and got to me in perfect condition. Price was steep for a case, at least for me. Came out to $48 with a 10% off coupon with shipping and taxes. You also get another 10% off coupon for someone else to use when you buy from them and if someone uses the coupon and buys a case you get another 10% back. I got another 10% back because someone used my coupon recently and ordered a case.
Quality:
The quality of the case is very high. I was impressed to say the least when I first removed the case from the packaging. You can tell it was created by good workmanship, material is good quality. Feels nice to the touch and it looks very nice to carry around. The color was spot on with what they had on the website, I couldn't be happier with the quality of this case. The elastic band is the same color as the inner panels, I was kind of assuming it would be off a lot but it is really spot on.
Functionally:
Well sure it is pretty but how well does it function at its true core, a case. First the tablet is secured to the case by a doubled sided sticky tape. You peel the top layer off the tape and stick your tablet in place. I had to reset the case about 2 times to get it just where I wanted it. The tape never lost its strength and still holds very very well. I read you can reuse this tape as well by just wiping down the tape with water and it restores the stickiness to it. Haven't tried this yet though.
Next the fit of the case. The case itself is very thin and sleek, and just hugs the Nexus 7 perfect. As you can see in my pictures, the case is very close in size to the Nexus 7, it leaves a little boarder between the edge of the tablet to the edge of the case. Just enough so I would be confident that it would protect my Nexus 7 from a drop. I really like the fit of this case, can't stress that enough. Plus it is pretty light. One thing that kind of bugs me is the Power/Volume buttons are a little harder to access with case on. The case is so low profile that it comes very close to the buttons - the way ASUS place the buttons on the curve of the back panel causes this little problem, so you kind of have to angle your finger different then you normally would to push the buttons.
Lastly, the perch modes and carrying. The standing up perch mode works well for viewing movies at your desk, browsing the web and controlling your playlist for music. I stick the elastic band under the back to give it better support on slick surfaces. The laying down perch mode is okay. I wish it had a wider angle but I understand that to keep this case low profile, it had to stay at a lower angle. Usually I am carrying this case in my hand. It feels good to carry it in one hand and do want you need with the other. I can also thumb type very easy with the case on and folded back. I am typing this whole review actually from my Nexus 7 with the DODOcase, feels comfortable still.
I love the smart cover feature (sleep/wake) this case has. It works perfect, turns off and wakes the screen as intended. The elastic band is a nice feature as well. It looks great when the case is closed and it holds the case shut very well. I guess looking down the line, I can probably see that the elastic band might become dirty from always taking it off and on. I guess I could use try to wash the band if it gets to that point but I have only had it for a few days.
(TLDR)
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this case. It's very low profile which is always something I look for in a case. It's sleek and sexy and yet adds that protection for your case if you ever happen to drop it, also very light weight. The sleep/wake functions were just the icing on the cake and really completes this case. The price is steep but you do get a high quality case that is sure to get some questions, coworkers and family have really recognized the quality of this case in the few days I've spent with it and really like it. I would recommend this case for anyone that is looking into it. :good:

EDIT Nvm, refreshed lol...
Thanks for the review! Was thinking of ordering one while I waited on my Treegloo case. Didn't like the idea of the strap being the same color as the inside cover (blue) but it actually looks good!
Thanks, you just cost me $48.00+ because I ordered one of these cases to go along w/ the tablet as a Xmas gift.
Where do I send you the bill? (I would have ordered a cheap Amazon type case because I didn't know about this company until I read your review - so, obviously, this is your fault! )
Handiwork looks beautiful. I just can't get enough of these bookcases!

And also very satisfied about it
I got the case in black when I got my N7 and it's a nice case.
Loving it.
Awesome review! I've been waiting around to see if I could find any thing better but every time I see the dodo i can't resist
Ahhhhh the price is sooooo steep lol. Does anyone know if it will fit the 3G model?? Basically access to the Sim port. Gooosshhh I might get one. Nothing but positive reviews!!!!

There are a few on Amazon UK, you seem to need to search for ""xperia t" case" to get them to come up, perhaps because they are so new and not ranked correctly in search

I'm on the look out for a good case and I'm sure others would appreciate it too.

This looks like it may be the best of the bunch thus far. Gonna order one this weekend.
Got this one also from MobileFun.
I'm hoping a better quality TPU case will come along.
The one I mentioned above from Amazon does the job but its not a good fit. There is a clear gap near the headphone socket viewed from the front, and it doesn't sit flush along the front bottom.
Will keep it safe for now though

Just reposting something I posted in another thread.
I bought a Terrapin Solid Black Hybrid Rubberised Back Cover / Case / Shell / Shield + 6-in-1 Screen Protector Pack for Xperia T from Amazon and it arrived almost a week earlier than estimated (2 days delivery!)
Best bit is it was only £4 so it's amazing value for money. It doesn't feel cheap at all and the material feels very smooth with a matte finish. Almost the same texture as the T's back case. The fit is perfect too - it snaps on to either sides of the phone with only openings at the top and bottom and the device feels very secure in the case.
The aforementioned sides of the case also raise slightly higher (about a mm or so) than the screen so if you were to rest the phone on a flat surface face down the screen never touches. In regards to accessing the side buttons (Power, Volume controls and Camera button) they're all very easy to press - unless you have fat fingers or overgrown nails.
I highly recommend getting one from Amazon since the delivery came earlier than expected and even if you want something more protective (leather flip case, bumper etc) this is only £4 and makes a great temporary case.
Link to the case can be found herehttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009HRVW7W/ref=mp_s_a_4?pi=SL75&qid=1350000465&sr=8-4

My apologies if the photos aren't very clear. They were taken with my girlfriend's iPhone 4 - at night - in the kitchen. If you want I can take a few outside tomorrow morning in the sunlight at whatever angles you want. As you can see the case hardly adds any bulk to the phone - about 1.5 mm either side and 1.5 mm on the back.
The Rock naked case is really nice, have no issues with it so far and looks great.
Just bought the Krussel one, very handsome, well fiting and comfortable touch...I really like it and don't regret my money...
Next week i gonna get my Xperia T and i gonna order this case
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/Protect-Sili..._PDA_Taschen_Schutzhüllen&hash=item3f1caf26d3
love the design :good:
Quick question: What kind of case is best for impact protection, a hard case or a TPU case? Also, how badly will each type affect the phone's ability to cool itself? I've never used a case for my phones before, and I'm kind of worried about exposing the softer TPU case to the hot afternoon sun when I use my phone as a GPS, so I would like some advice if possible.

Glad you like it. I haven't found anything better yet, which could be a good thing - it really is a nice case.
That said, I sent a message to Incipio on their facebook site and I got a response to keep an eye out on their company website in the next 2 weeks or so... I like their other Sony smartphone cases. Another great company is Krusell, they already have cases for Xperia T but they don't seem to deliver to the UK.

I got my Rock case last week, and I have to say I love it. It feels tough, while not being obtuse or overbearing size wise. The edges on the screen side are tall enough to prevent the phone from resting on the screen itself when turned over, but don't stick up too much to be in the way.
Yeah I have the white Rock case and it's easily one of the nicest cases I've seen
I don't know if this case has been reviewed yet or not but I just got it today. I had to find a case quick and it needed to be cheap since I don't know if I'll be getting the HTC 10 or LG G5. It also needed to be available for same day Amazon shipping since I couldn't go another day without a case. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to use this phone without a case but it's design makes it a little difficult for me. My palm is always touching the screen which causes some minor issues but my biggest complaint is while playing a game such as Trials Frontier. When playing a game like this, it starts to become uncomfortable after just 5 minutes of play. It's most likely due to the phones thin edges which are rounded but still sharp when holding it horizontally.
Anyway, this case fixed all of my issues. It still keeps the phone very thing but it provides just enough thickness to the edges to make the phone feel more comfortable when using. The case itself feels well made but I suppose there isn't much to screw up with a TPU case. All of the cutouts match up and the buttons stay very crisp. The case provides a nice grip without providing to much grip to where it becomes an issue sliding your phone in and out of your pockets. The actual fit of the case is very snug but it's still easy to remove. I suppose if you keep on removing it and installing it, there is a possibility it could become loose.
In regards to protection it's not going to work any miracles but I'm sure it would provide some kind of protection during drops. It's a super thin case that has the corners slightly raised. They are raised just enough to keep the display off of a hard surface if the phone falls face down or if you like keeping your phone face down on the table. These raised corners however only slightly sit above the front glass so dropping it on an uneven surface such as asphalt could have dire consequences. The back is no problem at all as the raised corners give the back glass more clearance.
If you're looking for a crystal clear super thin case that offers nice grip, decent protection and allows you to showcase this nice looking phone then you might be interested in it. If you care more about protection than the way your phone looks and feels then this probably isn't the case for you.
You can pick it up on Amazon for $12.99 (PRIME Eligible.)
Side Note: The Edge display keeps full functionality if that's important to you.

Does the back have texture? Does part of the phones glass back stick to it at all?
Also btw the sale on these cases (including the normal clear one) are still going on with the code SLICK007

Yes. The back sides are textured. I also just removed it to see if it stuck and no it doesn't.
I don't know what kind of deal that coupon code gets you but it its $10 or less then I'd definitely get one. I needed the case same day shipped through Amazon Prime so I just paid full price.

can you detail your opinions about the build and pros cons of the Luvvitt cases.
Bought sleek armor and aside from the lack of lip it seems like a nice low profile case with some protection. Just dont like the fact that the phone when face down with the case does not have enough lip to protect the screen.
The home button rest directly on the surface.Testing this out I caused micro scratches on the home button which is naturally a bit raised.
Would love pics and opinions on what yours are like...
I received tons of cases as usual, but i am pretty impressed by the leather case i received.
I actually used their case for Galaxy S8 for 1 month, liked it, but it was a little bit too thick
When i received the note 8 case, i found it is 1/3 thinner, and they finally add the magnetic closure.
i will update it when i receive my phone at Wed
BTW, the company is looking for testers to provide feedback for their products, if you are interested, you can go to their page www.facebook.com/artech21 ask for one.
the link of the cases i received from amazon :

Very nice, quality leather!!
First off, the presentation. The way the product is package, you can tell it was shipped with care! I was quite taken back by the hand-written note I found in the case, it was thoughtful and really present the quality of the company.
The case itself is nice made. It feels nice in the hand and does not come with any odd smells I tend to get from the so call leather cases I have bought in the past from others. The texture is nice and is true to the leather. It is genuine leather, do not let my bad pictures present otherwise. The stitching is good!
What I love about the case is the wallet part about it. I have stopped buying regular cases for my phone since the s4 and now only get wallet cases. This is by far one of the sturdy ones that I have found, making it perfect as a phone stance. The wallet part is tight but you can put a good 3-4 cards in there, including your ID card. The cash pocket is really night as well, it is not completely loose and I can tell with time, it will retain the shape.
I also really like the case itself, where you can place the phone, because of the edge raise. In the event the wallet falls open, I am confident my phone will stay intact along with the screen. Additionally, the magnet on the case is good, it does not open doing your typical everyday movements, unless you open it yourself. Lastly, the cut outs for the camera, charging, microphone, the pen, and the head-jack are all point. I have not received my phone yet but I was able to test it out with my friend Note 8.
This is simply a quality product, I love it! My friend will be ordering the black one as well.

i got this case, don't have the problem
The magnetic clasp is on the side, so it won't affect neither s -pen , nor wireless charging

i don't have any problem with this case.
Bought the Nomad Leather case from Best Buy. A really good Folio type case holds the Note 8 very secure, yet easy to get out when needed. Buttons and S-pen are easy to get to as well. Does a good job of protecting camera lens too.
My post was more than a month ago folks before the phones actual release date, they were quite a few of us that received them early as you'll recall. At that time I had already returned one case because of the magnet and had a second that was canceled by the manufacturer before they sent it. So a valid warning in its time but more than a month later I would expect most cases that had problems with the magnet have long since sorted it out. I'm on a black DavisCase now, it's exactly what you would expect from them with both superior leather quality and above average construction.
