ICS Bionic now makes phone calls on its own - Motorola Droid Bionic

My wife's bionic updated to ICS yesterday. no problems that we know of yesterday. Her phone is calling "i assume the last person called" on its own while on a phone call with that person. This happened 3 times in about 2 minutes.
Today, mid conversation, she is talking to me then I hear the call coming in from other line. I look, its her. It happened near immediately. Idk if you can 3-way call the same person, but her talking to me to her calling me was near instant. She is disconnected from the previous call and when I answer the new call, she's back.

Stock OTA unrooted. No apps installed after OTA.
Any suggestions? Can you clean dalvik cache on unrooted bionic?

I might be incorrect on this, but the OTA, having moved from GB to ICS should have triggered a dalvik wipe on its own. It could have been a flaky upgrade process, or if you told Google to save/restore phone settings during setup, could have caused issues. FWIW, this has caused me quite a few problems in the past with employee phones after major OS upgrades.
Since she doesn't have apps installed, I would try a full data wipe, and when you set the phone back up, do NOT allow Google to restore your phone settings. She'll get her contacts and calendar back when she logs into her Google account, just leave the phone settings out of it. Of course, she'll then have to set her wallpaper and icons back up, etc.

I'll wait to see if it keeps happening. thanks

Can I ask for help please? (phone calls)

I'm not sure what the problem could be.
When I first wipe the phone everything is fine but as soon as I put a ROM on there I lose the ability to receive phone calls. Every call goes straight to voicemail. At first I thought it was an app causing the problem (YouMail, Timeriffic...). I uninstalled those but still no calls. I did a wipe, phone rings. Put a ROM (no apps yet), straight to voicemail. Right now I'm using Damage 1.5 but that doesn't make a difference because it happens with Fresh & Darch too.
Is there a common setting somewhere that changes and could be interrupting my ability to get calls?
edit.....
Now that I think about it, this all started yesterday when I changed that CDMA auto thing. But that setting doesn't keep after restarts right? And wiping the phone should have cleared that anyway right?

One word:
nandroid
That was the first thing I did
I've nandroided (is that a word?) all the way back to January. That's all I've done since this started yesterday. Wipe... New image. Wipe... old backup. Wipe, older backup.
I'm about to smash this thing lol
go back into the test menu and make sure your phone isn't set to evdo only tht will keep calls from, coming in
You only get to ask one question per thread, so I'll answer the one in your title.
Yes.

It says I'm on GSM auto (PRL). I'm afraid to change it again. I think thats how I got into this mess in the first place

Gee thanks! lol
After living like this for 2 days I'm thinking it's not so bad. I changed my voicemail message to say I'm having a problem, send me a text and I'll call them back. I dont have angry ex's calling, no kids needing money, no mother complaining. They text me! And if I want to listen to it I'll call them back. It's kinda quiet. I think I like it
I'll put it back to stock and take it to Sprint tomorrow. Let them deal with it.

[Q] SMS Htc Hero CDMA Problem

I'm postivie i received two text, from my self, and my friend sitting next to me; They were delayed until i made a phone call. Any fixes? Surely would appreciate it!
Rom - Stock 2.1 Rooted
I'm thinking of going back to Cyanogen 6.1 when this problem is fixed
Thanks!
Are you going through a SMS app, like Handcent, or using the stock messaging program? I had a huge delay in sending/receiving texts when I used those programs. If you are using a non-stock program, try using the stock one to see how it responds first.
Yeah, i am using the stock app, but ill try using handcent and see if it works like that
Sorry, Handcent was the one giving me problems, not the stock app. How is the other data flowing, like browser and what not? Seen any drop in data coverage or anything? Do you have the newest baseband radio?

Do you have a "low space" warning? I know I've had problems receiving mms/texts when I'm low on internal space. Once I cleared up the space (>19MB Free I believe) by uninstalling a bunch of apps I never use, all the texts came in
Just a thought
Well, i got it fixed, went to the sprint store, (unrooted of course) and they fixed it within an hour, they reset the entire phone, not the same reset as Settings>Privacy>Factory Data Reset.
text and phone calls not getting through
my wife and i both got HTC incredible with Verizon service, this been almost two months ago. my phone is completely awesome, hers on the other hand has an issue her phone will stop receiving text, and or phone calls out of the blue. we will be texting back and forth and all the sudden hers just stops getting my text, so i will call her and it will ring on my end, till her voice mail picks up. this has happen few times a day ever since she has had the phone. if she makes a call out or restarts the phone then she will get all the texts, and voice messages at once. this happen with stock phone apps and ones like handcent. it happen when phone was s-on and after i rooted and installed new kernels and all that jazz. i have talk to Verizon and they talk me through reset and few other things but still doing it. guess i am going to have to see about taking it in, unless anyone has any other advise i have not thought of. all of her software versions are same as mine.

You might have better luck asking on the dinc forums.
-----
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!
not just a dinc issue...!?
yea, i know, i put it here because, it seems like same issue this guy was having and i have been searching around and have found many instances of the same problem on many different android phones.
i am un-rooting it and reinstalling the original software and taking it into Verizon tomorrow to see if they can do anything. should have done it sooner but every time i would try a fix it would seem like it was fixed for a day or so and then back to the same thing.
i will copy it over there just for posterity, and hopefully i can amend it tomorrow evening with the fix and a solved!

invalid Sim?

soo this is my 2nd Droid 4 and i tried calling verizon and it seems they dont want to send me another one. i have ICS .213 (the same thing was on my last droid 4 but it did not have data/service problems just a bad battery and broken volume rocker)
every 20mins or so i will lose service and when i try to make a call it will say Sim invalid, well i went to the verizon store and got a new Sim card and it still does it, went back there again he gave me another one and still did the same thing so he told me to call tech support.
i called tech support and they pretty much do there normal stuff of rebooting and what not but now it seems they wont replace it as they just keep telling me to call back when it is happening (which of course by the time i get a tier 2 rep it will be working again) and i called back 4 times and they just say there is nothing they can do and i need to call when it is happening (which i do)
the last rep asked what my system version is so i hung up because i did not want them to flag my phone because i am on a leak ICS
has anyone else had the invalid sim? i tried a factory reset and wipe the cache and what not but it still happens
Do you have safestrap installed? You might want to try a 3rd party ROM, just to see whether that clears things up. Honestly, it sounds to me like a hardware issue, but it may have been better if you had waited to make sure your replacement phone was working properly before you flashed the leak
If a 3rd party ROM fixes the issue, I'd try reinstalling the leak.
If a 3rd party ROM doesn't fix the issue, I'd still try reinstalling the leak :silly:
Actually, before you do any of that, what mode is your wireless radio in? Settings-->More...-->Mobile Networks-->Network Mode
Assuming you are in the US on VZW (which it sounds like), it should be set to LTE/CDMA. When I first flashed the leak it was in 'Global' mode and I got all sorts of weird connectivity errors.
No i dont have safestrap. And Yea its in lte/cdma mode i finally got them to send me another one but wont be until thur
This new one im getting im just gonna leave it on GB and root it and wait for the official ics
Sent from my DROID4 using xda app-developers app
i might have fixed it... i reflashed the .213 ICS leak and right after that i did a system and cache format and so far no data drops as of yet and it seems i got more bars (was running on 2 bars now its 4) will post back in a few hours to tell if it really fixed it so in the future if this happens to someone else they can read this
came back to say after 2 hours of running fine it is back to dropping service like crazy, this is gonna be a rough two days with out a phone
does ICS leak .208 have a different radio then .213? if so can i just download the .208 file and then just flash it like normal?

[Q] SMS is near-unusable after 4.4.3 update!

I installed that update that upgraded the phone to 4.4.3 and enabled Wi-Fi calling about a week ago. And since then, the SMS app has been incredibly laggy to the point where it is near unusable. I am not exaggerating, it takes literally about 20 seconds from me tapping a letter, for the phone to vibrate that it recognized I touched the screen and display the letter on the screen.
I know that internally the SMS is working fine since I can get replies back on my Pebble before the message I sent that they are replying too even appears on my screen.
Also, this only happens to specific contacts, but always the same ones.
Everything was working perfectly before this update, but directly after installing it this happened. Any ideas?

Backup & do a hard reset will take care of it. I always recommend doing a hard reset after any kinda of big update anyway. I would also do a profile update once the hard reset is complete. There was some issues with connectivity for this update that a profile update should take care of, although it's not going to solve your sms problem.

Wouldn't restoring the backup bring the problems back though?

It's possible, doesn't really hurt to try. I usually try and restore as little data as possible and do everything by hand. One thing you can do if you wanna keep your sms, is export it, then import sms only back in after the rest. I have had good luck with it. Certain apps I use titanium backup to restore, but a lot of stuff I do by hand. I have tried HTC's backup on a friends phone, it actually worked better than I thought. Sometimes it's nice to not do a backup (other than like sms & photos) It will clear out the old apps you don't wanna use.

Text messages take a really long time to send

Hi. I have a dual SIM P9 on the latest software (EVA-L19C432B386).
I just got the phone around 2 weeks ago, and I did a full update and full wipe/hard reset when I got it. I finished setting up all my apps and settings and everything has been really great and I really like the phone.
Until two nights ago, I noticed that when I send texts, it would just say "Sending..." under the message bubble for 15 minutes or more (sometimes upto an hour). It's the same with both SIMs on two different networks. Calls would come in just fine, and I could still receive texts, so it couldn't be a signal issue (Signal was 4-5 bars on both networks)
I tried swapping out the SIMs, putting my sim on another phone, and on the same location, texts send really quick. I also tried putting other SIMs on my P9 and the same thing happens, the text messages take forever to send. Sometimes it works well, I could easily send texts on both networks. But after a few minutes it starts acting up again and it just says sending for the longest time.
I've tried clearing the data of messages app (it didnt delete the text messages), I also manually deleted all texts, I tried using another SMS app, and I also tried clearing cache and dalvik data, to no avail.
Any thoughts?
UPDATE:
Hard reset fixed the problem. I was almost sure it would fix the problem but i was hesitant since I didn't want to have to set up all my stuff over again.
I did a nandroid backup before doing a hard reset. Restoring the backup also restores the problem.
So hard reset fixed it, but I probably would never know what caused it. I didn't install anything new on the day it happened, and I havent installed any apps I havent tried before. To think it's only been 2 weeks since my last reset. I hope I wouldnt have to do another hard reset 2 weeks from now.
ANOTHER UPDATE 7/14/17
It's back again. Texts take a really long time to send. After I've set up all my stuff, apps, accounts, etc, it was all well. Less than a week later its back at it again. Didn't install anything new. It just started acting up on its own. Not sure how to solve this, or where to look first.
