Made possible by my sexy LG Optimus 4X HD (P880)

This will allow development directly from source code. Which is much easier than doing it all blind. At-least

yup but for flashing kernels we need unlocked bootloader is that right??

old news..
been there since a while
its usless coz of the bootloader

With the source code, will we be able to create .kdz files? If its possible, thats one step done.
The next step would be to sign the .kdz file as an "official" LG kdz manual update, so that we can flash it through normal methods. Which in my opinion, is entirely possible. However, kdz files are encrypted.
I know this is not well explained, but really its quite hard to put in words with my limited free time. If someone understands, thanks would be appreciated.

If I'm not wrong, we can't edit kdz files because they are encrypted and contain a locked bootloader. Thus, we can't flash the custom CM10 rom. So, if we were able to use the source code to build an unlocked bootloader within the kdz file, then mark it as an "official" LG kdz update, we would be able to bypass the locked bootloader and replace it? Seriously speaking, thinking about this gives me a headache.

No, but you cannot flash a SU660 with P990 Firmware because the SU660 hardware slightly differs (more internal storage, TV receiver, physical button)
Here is super fast link:

SU660 is a different phone, it just shares the same chipset and processor. Worst case if you flash this you end up with a totally worthless brick

he is not in the wrong forum he is saying that it will be easier for devs now to bring it over to the p990 which has the exact same specs just without all the tmobile garbage on it which will be nice and it also means cm7 will get it working much better
Does that mean that Cyanogenmod 7 for P990 will now include Bluetooth audio support? They couldn't include it before because of missing proprietry nVidia/Broadcom drivers or something..... will this release include those?

Same as antonio1475, first you must root your phone, install ClockWorkMod, and make nandroid backup. Then upload and share the nandroid to us.. BUT, I'm also NOT suggesting you to do it, since you must have experience with hacking the phone, also your warranty will be void. So we don't want that risk and take responsible for it...
CMIIW.
Just echoing the question of if we can root the Sprint version or not. My EVO is having some hardware issues and I've been wanting to downsize a bit since I got the Asus EEEpad...don't really need that much screen on the phone anymore and would like to benefit from the slimmer design of the marquee. But, I need root for tethering since I travel a lot and not always sure where the next hotspot will be.
TIA for the first to take the plunge and report back to the community!

If only the radio is different, knzo told me that it would probably boot (theoretically speaking of course, anything can happen), just radio wouldn't work. If so, a nandroid backup can be done and maybe the radio changed (I have no freaking idea so can't tell if this radio thing can be actually done).
However, I consider that if LG releases official 2.3 for Black in some days as finally expected so far (yes, we know, they can and will move the dates as they want), it's not worth it. I will just wait.
Advice: get something to do, some task, and you will forget that you "need" Gingerbread now, as I have done as soon as I started university weeks ago.

because rooted v20N is not in KDZ format but in backup version of CWM or in zip version.

My package is still having completed LG app, so it still having "bloatware". Or you can use any other repackage based from mine that already removed that things. The reason of V20B still having bloatware, is because it hasn't rooted yet. And to remove any bloatware is mandatory to have it rooted.

hey no expert here but i will have to agree as th only way to root v21b for o3d was to make hybrids of it with v21a and if you consider the fact that we have more devs and more time with the fw in our hands i'd say it is a hybrid of all the gb versions (leaked etc). of course this is not bad as long as you have a working rom with the latest features, but admitting to it won't hurt. you'd still get the thanks meter up...
There is a very simple way to check: get the md5sum of all files from the backup nooby made and compare to the md5sum of the files from V20N. Case closed.

nVflash

Hello XDA world!
When I bought my O2X (P990) i had stock 10d BAL Rom inside it.
i had used to flash cwm, ICS, and a lot more Custom ROMs.
So now is time to go back at totally stock ROM.
I wanted to ask how flash 10d BAL Rom to my P990.
i know that smart-flash can't make my phone look like new for LG devs, but Nvflash might be able to.
Can anyone help me with this sitation.
1. How to convert KDZ, or SMART-FLASH files to Nvflash?
2. or anyone can do this and send me a link.
Please tell me how, because here are many nvfalash type roms and some of you know how to do that.
Using Win XP/ Best wishes from Latvia, Peter.
Hello people!? it's really important, please give me any useful information
