I deleted the os on my Kindle Fire and I wanted to know if it is possible to install one I downloaded (.bin file) from my computer or from the kindle somehow?
You posted this exact same question in the original Kindle Fire forums, so it would be more beneficial for you if we knew exactly what device you have.

Hi all, I'm posting after weeks lurking here how to make my Kindle Fire HD 2 a real table. I followed many steps but now I can't even switch on the kindle so I ask you if I can solve my problem.
The kindle I have is the Kindle Fire HD (I guess 2) with Microphone and Webcam. The Version is 7.2.1
At first I rooted the device using the instruction on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891939
Eveything worked and not without any effort. I had to install the Android SDK and test many times the adb tools.
Before that I tried the KUF 0.9.6 but didn't work.
After the rooting I wanted to install TWRP, my purpose is to have a tablet with Android.
I followed the instruction on this page: http://finditmore.info/2012/09/19/install-team-win-recovery-project-kindle-fire/
I guess here is the mistake. I downloaded the twrp 2.3 and firefirefire 1.2 and installed as wrote in that page, but now I can't switch on the kindle. Really is like death.
Could anyone explain me what I did wrong? Could I still recover the tablet?
Thanks in advance

The post you linked explains a method for KINDLE FIRE 1ST GENERATION, there's no possibility for now to get a recovery working in our devices regardless of whether the device is a Kindle Fire HD or a Kindle Fire 2. So, you probably bricked your device. From my point of view you only have 2 choices: You can retUrn it to Amazon and pray, or you can try with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254.
But please, read everything before doing anything.
Hope it helps

Thanks. I'm downloading the system from the thread you pointed me out. But what make me very disappointed is the fact that the kindle isn't switching on anymore. This is really odd.
I'll try to fix it if I can't I'll send to amazon and I'll pray.
Anyway, where are the instruction to flash the Kindle HD 7.2.1?
Thanks!
There is no way you can get your device working now. As far as we know, only Amazon has the ability to fix a second generation device that has an unsigned bootloader or recovery installed.
Hi all
I'm toying with installing Android 4.1 on my new Kindle Fire (non HD) so that I can get access to all the bits that I have my Android phone. The only thing I'll lose is access to LoveFilm but that's not a biggy.
However, is it possible to go back to the Kindle Fire OS if I don't like using Android on it? I can find several 4.1 installations but I can't find any Kindle Fire OS installs to apply so I'm wondering whether it's possible to remove Android 4.1 and put the factory OS back again later on.
Any ideas?

If it is a new KF, I'm not sure where you've found these installs of 4.1 but I do't think they are for the new model. The bootloader was just recently cracked and CWM and CM10 are in the early stages of being ported to the new KF's, mainly the 8.9. There are definitely no stable versions yet. Using any roms, tools, recovery, utilities, etc... meant for old model kindles will definitely brick your device. Check out the development section for progress. For now though rooting, installing play store and custom launcher will give you a good android feel without compromising performance and stability. Nova and Apex launchers are based off ics/jb interface.

Oliver,
Can you go into the Menu, Other, Device, About
What is the Software Version? If it is 10.2.3 or 10.2.2 you have the new Kindle Fire 2
and not the old Kindle Fire. Having said this, you do not have any Bootloader options
or at least any stable ones, this Android 4.1.2 is Out on the Kindle Fire 2. Onemeila
is correct, most of the development (Custom ROM) is focused around the Kindle
Fire HD 8.9" not the Kindle Fire 2 7". This is not to say we will never see a Custom
ROM, it is to say, we are a long ways away.
Hi everyone, I just got my Kindle Fire HD 7" (Version 10.2.6) a few days ago.
I successfully got my device rooted from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125628
After rooting, I tried to install the android and jellybean OS into my device with the following help from these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2041694
https://sites.google.com/site/tomsgt123/videos/kindle-fire
http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/otter/aosp/jb-4.2.2-kfire-hashcode-2013-02-12.zip
http://goo.im/gapps
The main problem now is when I tried to install TWRP (Function 3). When the "run.bat" tried to fastboot; nothing happens to my Kindle. I tried turning on and off my kindle a few times and the problem still persists. So I rerun the "run.bat" file and used the function "1" to try to boot my kindle. My kindle got rebooted but then it just like a normal reboot and it went back to the Amazon homescreen. No matter how many times I tried to manual reboot from "run.bat", it is still the same.
When I am at the KFU menu, the statuses for my device are shown as follows:
ADB Status: Online
Boot Status: Unknown
No matter what I do, the Boot Status will always be shown as "unknown".
I am wondering is it even possible to install android and jellybean on the new Kindle Fire 7" 2nd Generation device? Thanks a lot and your help will be deeply appreciated.

First off, I have no issues with the device itself (not bricked, etc.).
I simply want to restore my Kindle Fire HD 7" to the system settings and specs as if I just unboxed the device.
Is there any way to do this? If not, what can I do to reach the closest specs?
Thank you!
Just flash it using kffa's restore then unroot it, that's pretty much stock. You can then make sure it's stock by manually updating by downloading the update file from Amazon's site and following their instructions.

Please help! I need to check for any root exploits I can use for my Kindle Fire (on Fire OS 5.3.1.1) before it updates to Fire OS 5.3.2 or whichever version it's updating to soon. I will disable wi-fi once I turn off my Kindle. Can I root Fire OS 5.3.1.1? Also, does the message system component needs to be installed, which I saw in the System Update settings, mean an update? Sorry if it's obvious...
