I have a download problem following installing the MIUI rom.
Here is what I can't do:-
Download from any browser - download unsuccessful message(Opera/Chrome/Stock)
Download Swiftkey 3 language files
Run Vignette app - error message about storage
Here is what I can do:-
Download Swiftkey 3 Tablet language files
Download all Apps from market, of any size
Any advice? I'm quiet experienced on flashing, unlocking, build props etc but this has me stumped and Google hasn't helped.
Had same Problems with CM9.
Formatting SD card and reflash helped.
Spot on - thanks!!

I finally made the jump and rooted my Droid 1 today and installed CM6. I had issues with Rom Manger giving me an error when trying to download CM6 with Google Apps, so I downloaded the ROM from the web and installed it manually. Works like a charm.
I tried to go back to ROM Manager and just install Google Apps, but it keeps giving me an error during downloading.
I still need the Google Apps installed... I have downloaded the zip and moved it to my SD card, but can't figure out how to flash it. (been searching the past hour for an answer) I have gone to recovery mode but it looks like that is only to update ROMs (update.zip) am I missing something easy here?
Thanks

It depends on what Recovery image you are using. For some reason ROM Manager gets a bad CRC or other error when downloading the GApps addon update zip. Don't know why. However if you get the latest file directly from the CyanogenMod site (hardware appropriate of course) you can install it from the recovery screen.
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1 and it allows you to specify a .zip of any name and directory on the SD-card (you have to mount it first). I'm not sure if normal SPRecovery allows for that. Make no mistake, installing the GApps is basically a ROM update, as it installs them to the System apps folder (which is essentially read only).
One thing to note once you get it installed. Sometimes you get issues with updating the ROM's apps (including GApps). This was notoriously noticed with the new Car Home and the new YouTube apps. In order to fix it, you have to use RootExplorer, TitaniumBackup or another SuperUser enabled browser or app manager to forcefully remove the system app, then get the updated app from the Market.
I hope that helps.
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1 but didn't see a menu item for installing zip files. I ended up renaming the Gapps file to Update.zip and flashed it in recovery mode. Worked like a charm.
Thanks
Do any of you have this error itself?
I'd like to see if I could make sense of it. Back when I installed Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 on my new phone, about 2 weeks ago, I was able to install it with GApps with no problem.
Is there a way to "grab" (maybe in the cache) a market app download that does not install and errors? What I would want to do is capture the download and then try to side load it as this is the only way that some apps will load.
Any Ideas? I know downloaded and installed apps can be captured from Titanium, but not sure about apps that download but fail to install.
Thanks
I you have an android phone you can install it on that and rip the APK.
If you are having trouble with an app not installing, try unmounting the SD card, the go to market and try downloading/installing it again. With some of the ROMs, that has been a quick solution to that problem.
Hello,
I've generated a zip with romkitchen.org, for my Galaxy S.
It's a wipe version, and to avoid problems, I made a factory reset and wiped cache partition before flashing.
I had no problem for flashing the rom. But my phones reboots without a reason (for exemple after downloading an app in the market, just before installation).
Is it possible to know a little more about the problem or if someone already had the problem ?
[Edit]
I don't have that problem using Darky's.
The Doc build is composed of :
- XXJPY v8.1.1 WIPE
- JP9 Multi CSC
- Hardcore's Kernel
- JPY Modem
- Android 2.2.1 Browser, Zeam Launcher 2.8.7, Go Launcher v1.41
- Swype JPU, Samsung EURO Keyboard
- Unified Inbox, Flash Player, FM Radio App, Maps 5.0, Memo, MMS AOSP, STK, Screen Capture, YouTube App
- Quickboot, SGS Tools
- Non Increasing Ringtone, Voodoo Sound, Damian Tweak, LCD Density Changer
- WPA Supplicant Standard
- XXJPY AOSP theme

I know it's not cool the bump his own topic, but i've an update :
It's not just happening on market downloads, also on other apps (tried to launch titanium backup && MMS app, same problems).
Could it be a kernel problem?
hi, when i install a new rom I do this steps:
1) factory reset
2) format card (internal+external) - before this i move the titanium backup folder on PC
3) clear cache/dalvik
5) install wipe version
I never had problems. try to do this and see what happens. after installing the rom from kitchen, update the kernel to 13c, the latest one on hardcore's topic. After that connect to PC an copy back to the root of the SD card the titanium backup folder. Install TB and restore.
If you still have problems like reseting, then it's a fault hardware.
To be shure, try to install a stock rom, if it still resets it's hardware
I'm using Darky's and I don't have reboots atm.
I didn't format my Internal SD. I'll try it. Thanks for the advice. (Altough I didn't think it was possible to be the source of the problem!)
Yes the ROM kitchen is having problems right now. The problem seems to be certain themes, which make the entire ROM defective. Several of the themes work fine. Try Andromeda. Hopefully the problem will be fixed before long.
Also, make sure you use the most recent version of the ROM
I am using the latest version of Overcome Jupiter 3.0.1 and used the StockSafe V5. When I installed it I did a wipe install and everything is fresh on the install. For some reason when I try to download apps (The first app I download works any apps I try to download after that do not download) from the market I get "Error downloading. There is insufficient space on the device."
When I download through the amazon app store it seems to download them fine and install without a problem.
Its a brand new fresh install so there is plenty of space on the device. Things I have tryed to fix this include in this order;
Clear cache from recovery screen (This works for one app then I have to restart in recovery and wipe when I want to install another app and keep repeating to get more apps)
Clear data
Used app "move cache for root users" this didn't seem to change anything
Re-Stock and Re-Installed Overcome Jupiter 3.0.1 for a 2nd time
Installed the Jupiter Market Patch
Any help that you can provide or ideas for a way to fix this would be great.
Thanks
*Seems to only get this problem when I download apps that are bigger then 10-15meg from the app store (Cant tell an exact size but its about this)
*Any apps bigger then 30meg there is no way for me to download them at all no matter how much I clear the cache
Install the patch from Team Overcome:
http://www.teamovercome.net/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=15
Nope still get the same error when trying to download anything over 15 meg. Applied the patch and still get the same error.
Thanks for trying, Any other ideas ?
i just flashed 4.0.4 ics to my A855 milestone, at first it seems that everything is working fine, but boy was i wrong
the phone feature won't work. so i assume text doesn't either. when i try to call it says "mobile network not available". in the stock froyo i remember on the lockscreen and notification pull down it would tell me my network at all times (telus canada), now there's nothing about it there.
and i tried to install the latest google apps which i found in rootzwiki, the download page was goo.im so that's legit right? i can't post the link to it because it won't let me..
all it installed was gmail, google talk, and google search. no play market. what are all the apps that come from the gapps zip?
anyways i tried to download apk installer from the browser play store, then get the play store apk file into my sd and install play store that way, but apk store just won't download for some reason, it says something like "this app will be downloaded to your device shortly" but nothing happens.
1. set Canada(Telus) baseband under Settings>Device>Advanced>Baseband selection and reboot
2. Use the gapps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445209
Regular gapps won't do any good to Milestone because of the limited space in /system. That's why I have to provide special gapps package for Milestone - most of it is installed to /data/vendor instead of /system (as mentioned in that post I linked).
Note that if you applied the gapps from goo.im, you will have to re-apply the CM9 update zip first, then install the gapps I mentioned above.
