[Q] How do I downgrade from ICS to 2.3.6? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please, help me. I'm not happy with ICS CM9. I ofen lose signal and my camera is not working. I would like to downgrade to stock 2.3.6.
Can anyone give me instructions on how to do this?
I've download the official 2.3.6 from sammobile. The downloaded archive has two files in it:
P1000BOJU3_P1000CROJU1_P1000BOJP1_HOME.tar.md5
SS_DL.dll
Do I need other files? Is there a guide on how to do this?
Thanks a lot, cheers.

You do need the pit file to repartition.
Follow my signature for overcome method. Download the guide and the gb stock safe v5.
Unpack it. Read guide from page 7.
Flash it with Odin. Then when completed you can flash your official one on top of that, this time only selecting one file, the tar.md5.

[Q] JMK Firmware downgrade or Overcome move

Hello
I'm running the last P1000XWJMK firmware which seems to have a protected bootloader. I'm not very happy of this ROM.
I want to move to Overcome or downgrade my firmware.
I think i have to unsign my bootloader.
Can i use SGT6Bootloader-Patch to unsign my bootloader ?
Can i afterwards move to overcome ?
Thanks for your Help
Answers are here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888071
I've read this thread but i want to be sure before doing it.
It don't want to brick my SGT.
Thanks for your help
Just download the apk from the link, install it and run it on your gtab. The app first checks to see if your bootloader is actually locked and then provides you the options to follow from there ... you should be safe!
A good guide to follow would be the comprehensive guide provided under the overcome thread ... all the necessary information is provided there.

I had a lot of problems at first too.
The first step you need to do root it with super one click root.
Do a search in the forums. There are several tutorials that explain how to use it. It's really simple.
Using that programs getting the phone to root was easy. The problem I had was the flashing part and getting Odin to work for the first time to install clock work recovery.
Do you mind providing a link? I really need to know the step-by-step procedure and see the reliabilty.

1) download the latest 2.3.6 JW4 firmware (for GT-I9000) from sammobile.com. Also download ODIN and flashing guide.
2) For CF-root , following the instruction on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108.
If you don't want to upgrade to 2.36 then just follow link in the second step . That should have the instructions and the download link for your GB rom. Ensure that you pick the right tar file corresponding to your firmware version.
I am sorry but i am a little dumb and slow -.- I not quite get thr threadnposted by Chainfire, in which the link you provided. I am using a gingerbread 2.3.3 . So what am I supposed to do? Cos they say smth like CF-root Gingerbread (2.4 XXjvk or newer) . What does this actually means? And after that i couldn't get the whole chunk.

Odin is not that dangerous :silly: You just have to look that you put the files on the right place and then just dont touch the phone while flashing. Then it is quite safe Just search for a tutorial.
Visit - Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 - Flashing to Original ROM : https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum/threads/samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000-flashing-to-original-rom.46/
You can try to flash TeamwinRecovery/CWM with stock recovery than you just copy the stockrom to your sd card an flash it with the TWR/CWM... Afterwards you just flash the stock recovery again with TWR/CWM and you've finished without odin I hope it really works for sgs, cause i've tested that only with sgs plus

All these other people posted links for instructions and stuff to alternate websites.
If you still need help, use the xDa written guide on flashing the stock firmware for your device.

That link has AT&T provided, search the forums for the carrier/model GS4 you have and download the stock firmware.

[Q] Original 2.2/2.3 P1000 Rom?

I'm trying to follow the directions to get CM 9.1 on my GSM P1000 from the CyanogenMod Wiki
but the problem is I was coming from Kang's AOSP Rom. So I need to return to mostly stock. I have the .pit files and other files to return to stock, but I can't seem to find a working link of the original rom or some 2.2/2.3 rom that would work- they all lead to now defunct file sharing sites that are spyware. Can anyone help me out by pointing me to a link or PMing me that they have it and are willing to share? I would really appreciate it.
Use overcome method.

Just follow Dr Ketan's guide which has all the roms listed, you can't got wrong, just need odin and Samsung drivers (which are included with kies). Dr k's guide shows you how to use odin. Download any rom you choose, don't need pit ever except in extreme circumstances, connect in download mode and flash.
