Cases without magnets - Galaxy Note II Accessories

So I'm looking closely at a couple of cases (need one that converts into a stand), and these two have my attention:
Case 1
Case 2
I'm about 99.5% sure case 1 doesn't have a magnet based on its design, but case 2--which I really prefer--looks as if it may or may not, and the seller hasn't responded to my email. Anyone ever used one of those brands for a different phone's case and have some thoughts?

Leather/folio-type case with see-through window for ID?

I have been looking for a case, first for my S3, but since I broke the glass, I got a note 2. Many of the spigen cases are nice, but I can't find the one feature that I would like.
I'd like a leather case that for one of the card slots, allows me to have my ID visible, w/o taking it out of the pocket.
My dream leather case:
4 card slots, 1 visible
money slot
genuine leather, quality stitching
*no* snap closure or magnet, just fold it shut.
stand.
The $'s themselves aren't really an issue.
I can find those features on individual ones, but not all in one place, or at least, not with all my googling and shopping around.
I got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009N5OX2E/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00. Seem to fit the bill on what you are looking for, with the exception of the small flap. If it irritated you, it *could* be removed.

My i-Blason case failed me in only 8 months! Any other suggestions?

A few months ago I was looking for a case for my M8 that included a belt clip/holster and would offer some protection for the phone itself... but preferably WITHOUT a screen protector since I have never seen one, whether it's stick-on or part of the case, that didn't add a rainbow hue/discoloration or make the image look less sharp.
Ok, so everyone seems to go on about i-Blason. i-Blason this, i-Blason that, and it's one of the best selling and highest rated HTC M8 cases on Amazon.... and it was only $10, so I got one. Everyone seems to think they are great..... until something goes wrong that is. The belt-clip snapped today, and I figured, well, they do have a one year warranty.
... turns out, they only honor the warranty if you purchased it from their own site... at about twice the price. Their FAQ on their own website basically tells you "It's Amazon's problem" if you purchased it from them.
Ok... so i-Blason is a no-go. Guess I couldn't expect much from a $10 case..... problem is though, I seem to have almost no other options.
There are very few options that have a belt clip and aren't just a pouch/holster with no actual case, or a giant bells-and-whistles overpriced ordeal. I have only found three, and none of them seem any good:
First there is the Otterbox Defender. A brand I used to swear by..... until I had to do a warranty replacement on my previous phone, and was told it was on it's way...... then never heard from them again. And in the case of the M8 specifically, I have heard a ton of people say the M8 version of their Defender case is horrible.... and despite the overall positive score on Amazon, it's full of negative reviews. Also, it has a built-in screen protector, which o my previous phone drove me crazy with it's discoloration. The fact that this normally $50 case has been knocked down to $20 doesn't fill me with confidence:
http://www.amazon.com/Otterbox-Defender-HTC-One-Frustration-Free/dp/B00IL7BG5C/
Then there is the Puregear case for about $16. No screen protector and simple.... problem is it's TOO simple, there is barely any covering on the phone, especially across the front and most of the sides. It's almost just a place for the belt-clip to snag onto:
http://www.amazon.com/Puregear-Kickstand-Case-Holster-Combo/dp/B00JCS054M/
And finally, the last one I could find that was both a case and had a belt clip was the Encased "Pantera Series" for around $17. The case certainly looks nice, and promises a two year warranty. Problem is, the reviews mention issues like the case putting the window for the IR blaster on the wrong side of the phone, leaving the real IR blaster blocked, and blocking the notification led as well. Also, despite the two year warranty.... I couldn't find any information about their website no matter how much I Googled it! ... it also has a built-in screen protector like the Otterbox Defender:
http://www.amazon.com/Encased®-Pantera-Case-Warranty-Black/dp/B00PHL9DBE/
So, that's it. That's all the cases I have been able to find that are both a protective case and have a belt clip/holster, and none of them seem to be any good or fit the bill. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Or have they used any of these three and can offer comments about them?

Official cases line a failure?

I think there are real big problems related to the lack of good accessories for S7 edge.
Facts:
- The best OEM protective cover (at least in my opinion) – the Leather Cover is nowhere to be found, only in pictures; there are several weeks of estimated delay for this product all over the world!
- The slim Clear Cover (transparent back cover) is mediocre designed, you should test them carefully before buying! Margins are awfully finished (very rough), the case comes already with scrathes on the transparent inner part (just like the case of S6 edge) and the lateral support (added also for lateral protection, a new redesign vs the one for S6 Edge/ Edge+) is very shaky, making the use of this case an absolute awful experience! At this price and with such high expectations, this is outrageos
- For the non-OEM cases: many have really big problems of proper compatibility and there must be 2 alternative reasons for this:
 Samsung has made a “last minute” redesign (eg: on top, a possible switch between the extra microphone hole vs the sim tray position)
 Samsung has rushed things too much and the non-OEM suppliers for accessories have failed this rythm... Even SPIGEN has big problems, there are many clear rumors that they have recalled all their accessories for the S7 Edge delivered to the market (you can start by checking amazon USA – there is no Spigen product for S7 edge!). The biggest problem: the clasic Neo Hybrid case, where the lateral polycarbonate frame was way too loose... Also the Rugged Armor, way too loose.... you should check reviews and facts including here on the forum!
- I must add that it-s a huge dissapointment regarding the non-existence of the Glossy Cover that was available for S6 Edge+, what a pity! And that design was clearly much much better and what a beautiful slim-line!
What do you think? What have you experienced?
I agree with your points on the Samsung cases. I think they could have been better. I have the Clear View and whilst it's an adequate case, it feels very loose. The front flap doesn't magnetically lock in place which I thought it really should. It's UI feature hasn't been implemented well.
I disagree with the Spigen comments. I have two Spigen cases and have had no issues with misalignment or them being too loose. In fact quite the opposite. I have two Spigen cases and one more on order. The two that I have in hand are:
Slim Armor Air
Neo Hybrid Crystal - Gunmetal
Both are seriously tight fits. The latter being tighter then the former. Whether the issues you mention are limited to a particular market, I don't know. But certainly Amazon UK still have all S7E products from Spigen.
I've also got the Spigen Thin Fit on order from Amazon.

The OP isn't wrong about Spigen's cases having fitment issues; take a look at my case OP if you want to see pictures of what he's referring to. On the other hand I disagree with why they're out of stock everywhere. This is speculation: Spigen likely had to revise one thing or another hence why they had a sale to clear inventory. Spigen's done this before, so it would not be surprising to see it happen again. I've seen then revise cases randomly, and then not tell anyone that they changed the case design. Spigen had never recalled a case, but I think it's certainly plausible they're revising the line up. I know my screen protectors from them had issues, and the new ones won't ship until the end of the month (maybe the cases will too). Only time can tell at this point, so there's no reason to really speculate further.
Ordered 2 spigen ultra hybrid's on amazon - 1 was loose on the sides not gripping phone and the other is slowly becoming loose.
Ordered 2 spigen neo hybrid cases on ebay. Silver has the loose PC frame the gold seems OK for now.
I will be contacting Spigen to see about replacements or if there are known fitment issues and if they are working on fixing them. I've had mostly spigen cases in the past with 0 issues. Hopefully this gets fixed.

I'm not saying the OP or you are wrong, I'm just saying my experience of the cases has been different. Maybe I've just been lucky.
I have a clear spigen and the plastic screen protector is being pushed off. There qare no glqa1ss ones available. And the battery cases not available

I'm definitely bummed that you can't get the Samsung leather case they show off on their websites so prominently. I love leather and always thought the Apple leather cases for iPhones felt good and had a nice minimalist look to them, so I was exciting to see Samsung rip that idea off. But since they weren't available at launch, I already have a case now and will question the worth of me buying another one if and when they come out.
I had the clear view cover and returned it mostly because of the fact it disables always on display. Instead i bought the keyboard case from samsung. So far i am happy with it. I always had problems while typing on the touchscreen and with the keyboard its really cool to type. Response on buttonpress could be better specially at the edges (my 'p' gives really bad resonse) and sometimes it acts crazy and the software keyboard or google voice thing is popping up. Also always on display does not work while keyboard is attached at front, but thats ok. The feeling of the case is really nice. A soft rubbered but not to rubby finish. I like it

Just the leather one? Not the LED leather one? It's weird because in the UK on the 8th when the S7E was released in the Carphone Warehouse I went in to they had just the Leather case by Samsung not the LED one. Now though, I see the LED leather case everywhere online etc. but rarely see the just leather one anywhere now!

Y'know that's weird. Sometimes 'P' on my touchscreen keyboard can give a bad response. Wonder if this is a common software issue...
I'm a big fan of the Clear Cover. No problems whatsoever and love the corners.
I've had my Spigen Ultra Hybrid crystal clear (ordered from Amazon) on my S7 Edge since March 5th (when the case arrived) and it was a perfect fit. Yesterday I took the case off (my first time removing it) to install my Skinomi screen protector. I put my Spigen case back on this morning and the case went on with the same feel as when I first got it.
All of the official cases are a failure, Samsung's and Apple's equally. I was looking forward to the release of the ARA phone but Google backed down. They released the Pixel which is just an improvement of the other competitor designs. There's nothing new and I am really disappointed in the whole industry. And now the poor excuse of an "official case" for their products. There are so many possibilities for making great cases for the phones. It is like the best car brand starts producing official ****ty tires for their cars. No offense they can invest and make great tires but they don't give a f**k.
On the other hand, I admire small companies that struggle to make great products like I-blades, Nexpaq and partially Otterbox that can continue and improve the modularity paradigm. Google realized that modular phone is a dead end. But they could join projects and release at least modular case for the Pixel.

Review of Full Grain Leather Galaxy Note 8 Wallet Case

I received tons of cases as usual, but i am pretty impressed by the leather case i received.
I actually used their case for Galaxy S8 for 1 month, liked it, but it was a little bit too thick
When i received the note 8 case, i found it is 1/3 thinner, and they finally add the magnetic closure.
i will update it when i receive my phone at Wed
BTW, the company is looking for testers to provide feedback for their products, if you are interested, you can go to their page www.facebook.com/artech21 ask for one.

Very nice, quality leather!!
First off, the presentation. The way the product is package, you can tell it was shipped with care! I was quite taken back by the hand-written note I found in the case, it was thoughtful and really present the quality of the company.
The case itself is nice made. It feels nice in the hand and does not come with any odd smells I tend to get from the so call leather cases I have bought in the past from others. The texture is nice and is true to the leather. It is genuine leather, do not let my bad pictures present otherwise. The stitching is good!
What I love about the case is the wallet part about it. I have stopped buying regular cases for my phone since the s4 and now only get wallet cases. This is by far one of the sturdy ones that I have found, making it perfect as a phone stance. The wallet part is tight but you can put a good 3-4 cards in there, including your ID card. The cash pocket is really night as well, it is not completely loose and I can tell with time, it will retain the shape.
I also really like the case itself, where you can place the phone, because of the edge raise. In the event the wallet falls open, I am confident my phone will stay intact along with the screen. Additionally, the magnet on the case is good, it does not open doing your typical everyday movements, unless you open it yourself. Lastly, the cut outs for the camera, charging, microphone, the pen, and the head-jack are all point. I have not received my phone yet but I was able to test it out with my friend Note 8.
This is simply a quality product, I love it! My friend will be ordering the black one as well.

Lots of this style of cases are being recalled because the magnet is affecting the S-Pen...

i got this case, don't have the problem
The magnetic clasp is on the side, so it won't affect neither s -pen , nor wireless charging

i don't have any problem with this case.
Bought the Nomad Leather case from Best Buy. A really good Folio type case holds the Note 8 very secure, yet easy to get out when needed. Buttons and S-pen are easy to get to as well. Does a good job of protecting camera lens too.
My post was more than a month ago folks before the phones actual release date, they were quite a few of us that received them early as you'll recall. At that time I had already returned one case because of the magnet and had a second that was canceled by the manufacturer before they sent it. So a valid warning in its time but more than a month later I would expect most cases that had problems with the magnet have long since sorted it out. I'm on a black DavisCase now, it's exactly what you would expect from them with both superior leather quality and above average construction.

Let's talk about cases!

I'm looking for 2 types of cases (not necessary to have both features at same time):
1. Something with an in-built magnetic grip, in order to use it with magnetic car holders
2. A really rugged case.
I found these cases:
A. https://www.armor-x.com/bx3-nk19-9p...oof-rugged-case-for-outdoors-w-carabiner.html
B. https://lastu.co/collections/nokia/products/lastu-with-ring-stand
Is there anyone who got one of these cases and could give a very short real-life review?
Any other brands or models?
Thanks in advance.
I'm using this one and it is very thin light and useful

Ah well , i will see what i get quality wise before i order an improved one.
Remains to be seen if they get the alignment correct anway.

Interesting! Can you report back on the quality?
I have a case thats almost identical to your Armor one. I like it, its rugged but its just a little too slick for me. I wish it had some side ridges or grips. I always feel like its going to slide out of my hand, ofc it never does.
My Case is the Cruzerlite Carbon Fiber Shock.
I use SLEO Case - hard rubberized, very thin, light, grippy, excellent fit.
Here's a quick video of some cases I picked up.
Looking for Wallet Case
I have a tpu bumper case with a transparent hard acrylic back. It's fine. I am looking for a wallet case so I can carry my metro cards and work ID as well as use it to watch videos. Many cases fulfilling these requirements are on Amazon and Alibaba but they ALL USE MAGNETS! I will probably punch six holes in my old leather wallet case and call it a day.
Bought a beetop clear case , very happy with it. Thin, truly transparent and cutouts are nicely done.
Also bought a imak cleared case witch is exactly the opposite, thik, yellowish and cutouts are a bit messy.
The beetop was cheeper as well
I'm waiting for a proper heavy duty case that covers front and back, like Pelican/Otterbox.
I don't have this case, but it looks a bit more interesting than everything else I've been able to find. Thought I'd post this here for others looking for something different and to see if anyone plans to get it and leave a review here for the rest of us.

My guess is that wireless charging is impeded by this case.
For those not sporting cases, have you picked up scratches? I am currently using a transparent case, but it's not the same as case-free.
Also, anyone noticed any impact of cases and photos? I.e. cases effecting the light/shine in images?
I sue this one:

fits perfectly, lite and slim!
