[Q] Help to compile kernel SGT7-P1000 - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Forgive me if annoying to open new thread..
Yes, theres awesome github source for P1000
But please can someone give proven tutorial to compile kernel for P1000 from samsung source ??
Kernel Source: update2 (opensource.samsung) & voodoo (github)
Initramfs Source: stock & cfroot (extract with unpack-initramfs on cygwin coz on linux always failed) , voodoo (github)
Toolchain: arm-2009q3-67-arm-none-linux-gnueabi gcc 4.4.1 , arm-2009q3-68-arm-none-eabi gcc 4.4.1 , arm-2011.03-arm-none-linux-gnueabi gcc 4.5.2
Trying combination source kernel, initramfs, and toolchain but still device cant booting
Thank you before for helping..

Still dont know what happen..
Compiling without problem but still not luck to booting..
Trying with alterbridge source..

Using old ubuntu8.04 Hardy Heron to build..
Is this one of problem even i have all tools??

At least can go to recovery now.. but still cant mount anything

Once you are successful, need you to help look at incorporating TWRP recovery into our tab. Their site seems to say easy to port to any device that already has cwm.

found the kernel but its 2.26.26

I got the old kernel. Can I guys help me.... I am using linux to provide me with latest android update... I was think that if I create rom I will just send u guys a script that bascilly wget my rom... or I could put a script in the zip and u just unzip and run the script... I could provide the latest rom with the apps. This woudn't be a direct download but its up to the user to download it....
It would be nice to know where the sources are for the update cyan. Currently I am using the source by the devs of android(open source which doesn't have the latest kernel)... is there any other sources???

You are VERY far behind when it comes to ROM developments......

EDIT: here you go
http://github.com/cyanogen
Is this another I got the kernel thread.
I HOPE SO!

as you can see i rooted my device so i can use CyanogenMod Roms
the question is , these roms .. isn't it supposed to be rooted ?? & if it is rooted why RootExplorer doesn't work ?? the rom let's me to INSTALL root explorer(just install) NOT USING it , keeps giving me FCs ... same thing with any root-needed applications
i tried every thing , tried to re-root it if it is already rooted in the 1st place ,even i unlocked the BootLoader ( as u can see i am on nAa kernel ) , then i tried every thing & every option in all rooting tools ( superone click , z4root , flashtool [all versions])
it makes me loosing my mind & i think these roms ( tried many ) are semi-rooted or not rooted at all , or may i am the one who didn't know enough
( by the way i tried to figure out is it rooted or not by using the Terminal emulator [ su orders ] ===> permission denied )
sorry for my trrbl English , as u can c i am from z sunny half of z world
try to flash back to stock rom n kernel n start again

hi
hi there, i got your pm.
1st:i think you should try a full wipe.
2nd: if you have it, try flashing a rom that is compatible with xrecovery, with xrecovery.
3rd: i have the problem with root explorer. it lets me open it, it does however ask me for root rights but when i accept it just closes so i dont use often.
But all my other root apps work just fine... i await any reply
-wilbso
I tried all ur tips guys with no result, same problem
anyway thanx alot every1 ...
by the way i falshed the old 2.1 again with the stock kernel too, i figured out that it is the only way to make 3G work [ another problem ] .. i think i am going to buy another phone

[WIP] [BUILD 1] [9.1.13] Firefox OS (B2G) - NOT ANDROID, SOMETHING DIFFERENT

General Info:
More information about Firefox OS (B2G) is available here and here. So... I saw this and couldn't resist having a little sneaky play around with it. This is NOT a daily driver. This is NOT stable. It's pre-alpha. If you want something to use as a phone, this isn't it. If you just want to use your phone as a phone, you need android rom.
With that aside, and with the clear understanding that while this won't brick your phone, it's nothing to do with me if it did for some reason, or likewise if your cat (or other cute pet) suffers a painful death as a result of flashing this. At your own risk, like everything else here on XDA-Developers!
So without further ado, WTF is this? Well, it's a project from Mozilla (the lovely people behind the Firefox browser). I won't go into details, suffice to say I suggest you read a lot over at their wiki - start off at https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G and work your way through the pages.
These builds can only be installed with CWM!!!

[Q] Menu and Back keys not working with custom kernel

Hi !
I've been trying to build a kernel from samsung's sources. I included an initramfs extracted for a stock ROM.
Everything seems to work fine except for the sensitive buttons (menu and back keys).
I also tried to repack the initramfs by included the drivers that were compiled alongside the zImage but I get the same result.
I haven't found any topic about this here, but I see a lot of people building their own kernel. What did I do wrong, or if someone stumbled upon the same problem, how did you solve it ?
Thanks !
have same issue with custom kernel.... I guess you are using m3_00_defconfig?

Try
Code:
*#2663#
to see your touch key firmware my firmware is 0x6
I am using the m3_00_defconfig.
It seems that Samsung's kernel sources are note quite up to date for the I9305. However it works perfectly if we use the latest I9300 kernel sources with the m3_00_defconfig found in the I9305 sources.
I found it easier than trying to fix the I9305 sources by comparing the two.

Lineage Recovery

Hi note 3 neo users. I am trying to build lineage-17.1. I am not a developer.
I am just a fan of Aman Kumar (Firelord)
And trying to understand what he did and how he did without having this phone.
All credits goes to Firelord and hard working devs of Exynos5420 team
I am just trying to apply their and other devs work to our device
Made our device tree look like devices from this site, its a different cpu but not so much different from ours https://github.com/exynos5420
Taking logcats of errors and applying patches from this site to our kernel and device tree https://review.lineageos.org/
Finally i built a working lineage 17.1 recovery. You can flash atached image directly from twrp. Its not a big thing but first for our device. I worked hard to make it work and fit to our recovery partition.
Next step is a working twrp with android 10 support.

Hello bro how r u doing? so the recovery you uploaded is fully working means in last thread you told there are many problem to be solved is that all problem solved now? and also currently in my phone i flashed twrp 3.0.2 and its working fine so should i have to flashed this file? sorry for asking this type of questions but for my understanding i am asking.
There are different types of recoveries to flash roms like twrp, cwm, stock an lineage.
Its not important to flash this to your device becouse its just a step to working lineage 17.1.
Its interface is like that;

Nope, working on kernel. Trying to upstream. Twrp 3.5.2_10 is ready but rom is not booting. Stuck on this error; your kernel is not supporting ambient capabilities. Trying to fix.
Our kernel version is 3.4.39. I am upstreaming it to 3.4.113 step by step.
Now i am on 3.4.41. Patching updates, solving conflicts, compiling kernel and testing it for every incremental update like 3.4.40 to 3.4.41.
After we got a working 3.4.113 version kernel i think everything will be more easy.
I will share every 10 step like 3.4.50 - 3.4.60.... if anyone wants to test. We can use upstreamed kernel on lineageos 14.1 either.
