Hi there,
can anybody tell me, how the signal quality of the Razr i is (compard to Galaxy Nexus)? I own a HTC One S and I´m not satisfied with it´s radio, at work I have no signal at all. I have a Galaxy Nexus for testing at the moment, it´s better than One S but at work I have only two bars and no internet.
All I want is receiving whatsapp and mails at work with a modern smartphone, maybe the razr i will do the job?
Thank for replays
I don't know how much my experience is going to match anyone else's, but the RAZR i has noticeably better signal strength than my Galaxy Nexus. It also has noticeably better bluetooth audio streaming and signal strength. Wifi is only slightly better, but I don't think there's anything in it.

Hi and thanks for your answer. I got my Razr today and did some testing. I mesured the signal stregth on various points in the office (desk, kitchen, toilet,...) with both devices on the same network (Vodafone). And here are the results (mean values):
GNEX: -101,5 dbm / 5,7 ASU
Razr i: -95,5 dbm / 8,2 ASU
I´m really happy that I finally found a device with outstanding signal quality. I have mobile internet nearly everywhere (some dead spots are ok). :good:
I have never owned a phone with such amazing signal strength. My old BlackBerrys were good, but nowhere near as good as this!

I've had a few phones over the years, and this seems one of the best performers without testing

I decided to take a look at my phone's signal strength as it layed beside me on my desk at home and was amazed by its signal strength of -77dBm! It's the first time it ever got so high
-CyanogenMod Nightly #145
-20.2810.30.085AU_3805.06.03.16_M radio
-Lord Clokan's latest CM kernel
I'm wondering what's the best signal you guys have been able to get, and with what mods (if any)?
-61dBm at the moment.do not bother to check it all the time
btw you are wrong because higher the value in dBm...weaker is the signal. It works in the opposite way...that means closer the value is to zero...better is the signal strength.

Haha yeah I knew that but didn't think about it while writing. Thanks for pointing it out!
Btw, nice signal you've got there!

Signal is very unstable for me. I'm experiencing the signal strength drops to -95dbm from -55dbm at the same place within a few seconds where as my Galaxy S is having -57dbm to -65dbm within the same operator.
Unstable 4 me too..(
Same here - the signal may even drop for some time within the same operaton and location
-79 dBm on Virtuous Unity v2.39.0
I got -47 and back to -59 , right up to -111. Depending on location. Still sucks tho as compared to other phones it stays at an even medium.

Mine's at home

I'd go with t-mobile. No matter where I've lived it had best service and quality and speeds.
Its 3g is normally better then my 4g speeds and my 4gs speeds are blown outta the water compared to sprint 4g.
But might just be my area
Well I know my area has terrible t mobile service Verizon says I should have good coverage but yet I get terrible service when my friend gets great service and iv been threw every step of tech support did not help also got my phone replaced did not help I was just wondering if Samsung put a bad antenna or radio in there note 3 I want to keep the note 3 am willing to switch carriers but don't want to be stuck with the same problem
What area are u located in my area code is 95621 may they have gotten better since iv had them
So why post this in the sprint forum? ??

FTFY. You're now in the correct forums.
Hey guys,
Haven't seen this wakelock issue pop up on the Nexus 6 yet, I know it was something that was an issue for the Nexus 4 and older version of the OS a while back
Anyways I've just updated to 5.1 and it's working surprisingly well, aside from having to downgrade the radio to receive calls.
The problem I'm noticing all of a sudden is the msm_hsic_host and PowerManagerService.Display, the former being the worse of the two.
In the screenshot you'll see that my phone is awake 61% of the time over 22 hours of testing, almost 6 of those hours being msm_hsic_host, and 4 being the PowerManagerService.
I looked a bit in to the msm one and it seems to come up when the phone is bouncing between 3G/LTE signals and people suggest putting the phone on wifi, but my phone has full-barred LTE almost always and when I'm home I'm on wifi, so this wasn't able to fix my issue.
Is there a way to see more detail what is causing this process to keep the phone awake? Or has anyone seen this and found a solution?

Host is usually related to poor signal. Display is just that, your screen is on.

Yeah for the host I had read it's related to a poor signal, but I don't have a poor signal at all. When I'm at work it's full LTE as you can see in the screenshot above.
At home I'm on Wifi, and even if I'm not on Wifi it's also a full signal.

Did you also get this figured out? Because I am having this wakelock as well on Franco Kernel on my Nexus 6.

Where? And wow I guess I do need an upgrade. Regular 4g is slow compared to that!

Use DL Booster and you can see speeds like 75+ Mbps! Depends on Wifi+LTE speed though.
are you in a wideband area or is this only with the download booster (wifi+lte)
I was actually able to hit 100mbps on the T mobile network no download booster on speedtest. Ya i know doesnt mean much without a picture but I'm at work. Either way I was amazed

Jeeze, the most I have ever gotten on Tmo in my entire life is like 30mbs down, lol.. is that a constant speed?
100mbps? I'd have to see it to believe it. I have gotten over 50 before, but nothing close to a 100. I have gotten over 75 with Verizon. Honestly, it's fast but not like a huge difference from 30 imho.

Here you go I was blown away. My T-Mobile service has been better where I live than my Verizon service stronger signal and faster data.
I couldn't figure out how to upload a picture so here's a link from my result that I shared to Ookla. In that area it was pretty constant between 80-100mbps. At home I only get 10, but that's about as low as it gets in my area.

Well, I guess I shall eat crow. That's impressive!
Here's mine.. Network 3 in UK 8
T-Mobile , Jacksonville, FL
This was LTE only no WiFi Booster.
I've been using my X527 for a few weeks now, it's a nicely built phone and very snappy in general.
During the past week, I've noticed that my Speedtest.net results are terrible....

Same thing if I use speedof.me website - very low results.
Now, if I do a speedtest on my ZTE Z958 Zmax2, I get full speed on the same network, sitting in the same position.
Any ideas what the problem is?
I'm on this ROM:
Battery life is also terrible, shortest life of any phone I've owned to be honest!

Well I thought I would upgrade my ROM tonight and managed to mistakenly press the wipe date icon in Chinese and now have a stock 16s X527 again!
But after doing a factory reset and losing all my data - I'm getting full Speedtest results again....?
Time to think about getting that ROM upgraded now lol
