Nexus One does not turn ON anymore - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was doing the regular stuff, flashing, recovery, trying the new JB roms.
Suddenly, after removing the battery and put it on again, the phone turn black and does not turn on anymore. Not even on the charger, there's no 'light', nothing, nada.
Appeared to be dead
Any way to resuscitate it again?
Thanks

Nothing
It dos not turn on, I mean, the screen does not turn on, there's no charging light, no functional light, showing that the phone is working. If I plug the charger, no light. Nada
Man, it's dead. Damn.
Any ideas what should I do to make it work, I mean, just turn it on, the rest I know what to do
Thanks

I know this mya sound a little crazy, but it worked for me on a HTC Desire with similar problems. You wanna remove the sim and micro sd, but leave the battery in. Now put it in the freezer! Leave it there for 4 hours. Let it de-frost for 30min. Plug in the charger, and it should power up.

Maybe your battery is not taking charge...when your phone turned off the last time was it at low battery level???....charge your battery outside you phone...probably in other phone or external battery charger

Try one thing....turn on your phone as usual...wait till the time it generally need to start...press call button twice remembering where it is to make a call...if you hear any voice then your GPU is damaged thats why you don't get the display...if there is no sound even then your motherboad has the problem

He doesn't say that it's broken, because he doesn't know (yet). Other people tried this method, resulting in a working phone.

WTF Dude..... Just stop spamming and scaring users already. LEAVE!
This method is not dangerous. It fixed the radio brick this phone had. His battery doesn't make a good contact, but the phone is definetly alive.

I wanted to ask: How fast is the orange light blinking?
You could have a problem with your cord, or, I've had an odd problem before with a certain rom where it wouldn't charge from a usb port anymore.
So, if you aren't trying a wall charger, I would recommend you give that a shot. Leave it plugged in there for like 5 or 10 minutes before you go back to try it, just in case it was completely dead.
Sorry about your luck.

[Q] Usb connection problem with Droid 4

Hi guys,
I have a serious problem with one of my Droid 4. It doesn't connect to pc and doesn't charge with regular micro-Usb cable. The only cable that I could charge with it's a usb power cable that came with a Varta Backup Charger 57051..I suppose it's not a data cable, just a power cable.Obviously with this cable the pc doesn't recognize any device!
When I connect usb cable(attached to pc or power supply)to the phone(in stand by),it wake up screen, but doesn't show me "charging" on the screen or other usb related information(usb debug, mass storage mode,etc..etc..)
Phone works perfect..but I can't connect to the pc and charging just with that very short cable is such a pain in the a**!!!
Somebody could help me with my problem?I'm in Italy,so I think Verizon support it's an impossible way!
I have had nothing but trouble with any non motorola branded cables. I think they have some special wiring that makes them work when others won't.

no one can help me?
have you tried a wall charger?
is phone rooted/rom'd?
does it go into charge mode, after turned off, connected to wall charger?
you could try wiping data &/or
flashing xml recovery file, but don't flash with low battery, without a TBH moto 'factory programming' cable or adapter

Yes,I try wall chargers and they charge the phone only if I use no-data cables. The phone is rooted with cm 10.1 in slot 1,but stock slot is empty due to a wrong wipe did!Now I can't connect to the pc.
I think it don't go in charge mode, because when I connect it to the charger it switch on!
Where I could buy a tbh moto "factory programming"cable or adapter?I never saw it!Or,if it's not too compicate, how I could make one of them?I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077414&highlight=motorola+factory+cable..is it right?
Thank you!!

how did you charge battery separately?
no you only need adapter if battery if too low to program
have you checked device manager for a device with a yellow triangle (driver needed)
if a driver is needed it will look something like

yes, you're right!I know that something could go wrong when battery is removed..that's why I didn't charge the battery of my "broken"droid 4 mounting it into my "working"Droid 4..I removed battery just because it was empty of energy and even the power cable that I mention in the first post charge it!

look in controlpanel -> find device manager and see what it calls the phone when it is connected.
is screen always totally black after you have cleaned it and it was not black before you cleaned it ? if you took phone apart, something is not sitting correctly for sure. that should not be able to brick phone that way
well i tried dismembering it again an reattaching everything again to no avail. BLACK SCREEN.. i took a photo of the phone before doing any soft updates to it and i noticed now it said it was s-on, now i am a hd2 user and at that moment didn't realize.. so is it possible that it is bricked because it got flashed with a rom on a s-on mode? cause any other thing is that testing point that i am missing that was strangely connected with a small wire in the middle but it worked with that so... any repairman around or something like that ...help..please

[Q] HTC One Bricked/not booting

Hi, today I installed tbalden's kernel on my stock rooted One. I took a nandroid before just in case. Now, after flashing, the phone doesn't boot up.. If I hold the power button/power+volume buttons, the soft keys flash, but the phone doesn't reboot.. Tried it for like 2 minutes :crying: It is detected in device manager as an MTP device, but it doesn't appear in My Computer. Even the charging led doesn't turn on. Please help asap. :crying:

Keep pressing POWER + VOL DOWN until it does reboot, also have a bright light above the light sensor. Since the soft keys are flashing the phone is recognizing that you're pressing the buttons so that's good.
sometimes it could take several tries, and several minutes until the phone reboots.
Thanks for the quick answer.. So should I have the charger connected while doing the above? Ps, I have removed the SIM card as many people said that it was the culprit.. Having the charger connected for around 15 minutes makes the phone hot.. Any more advice??

Charger not really necessary, unless you think the battery is empty, in which case you should charge it for a while before trying to turn it on.
Don't think the SIM card has anything to do with that.
You should just try to get to recovery and flash a compatible kernel or restore your backup.
The battery was at ~57% and charging when I flashed it, so the battery can't be empty..
And the phone isn't exactly turning on to flash a compatible kernel (and afaik, the kernel which I flashed is completely compatible with my model, 801e)..

If the LED is not coming on, then you may have a "completely drained" battery. Leave it on the charger until you see the LED come on, even try a different charger to be sure.

Sorry you feel that I feel negative, its just the app sucks, I still love my phone, but you gotta admitted this along with the battery defect is a prettied bad start. But I plan on sticking by HTC, a lot of these problems are software fixes, But the build and sense 6 and the speed and smoothness, and the other benefits far out weigh the negatives. We still cool !?

Thank you, TV App is working fine now. No battery defect here either. Battery has been amazing for me. First I ever heard of any battery issues. Thanks again for the heads up on the server being back up.

Thank you and glad you enjoyed it in the past. Nothing from me anytime soon though. You enjoying your M8 as much as I'm enjoying mine?

I actually thought this was gimmic at first. Then I realized when I told it just the channels I would actually watch... I now have a short clean custom list of shows, sports, or movies I may actually want to see. I really actually use this. I like it. I also made buttons for the Netflix built into my TV. I really like this. More than I would use a heartrate monitor if I got an S5 instead. LOL.

Phone shutting down at 8%?

Anyway to re-calibrate the phone without root?

First, charge until the battery is full, make sure your phone is on during the charging.
Second, power off the phone.
Third, charge it again until the battery is full, make sure your phone is off this time.
Fourth, stop charging and power on the phone.
When your phone is on and the app menus appear, power off your phone at once, then repeat step 3.
Make sure your charger is original before calibrating. My battery is back to normal with above method, hope it's helpful to you.
Hope so! I've tried something similar, but I usually use my wireless charger. Thanks!

Root doesn't allow you to recalibrate your battery.

Sure it does. It allows you to remove the previous battery calibration, for whenever you switch ROM's, but also works if your stock gets wonky

Dude I'm not saying on this phone, I'm saying on phones in general. It's a part of having root in general. That's why I'm asking how to do it on this phone (droid turbo) BECAUSE I don't have root.

this is a droid turbo forum, and when imply that one person is wrong because of that pretty much states your talking about this phone. Also wheres this proof that root will calibrate the battery. I see none.
Edit:

If your talking about the ABOVE LINK that is only after you flash a rom. i am pretty sure you cant with stock root only.
you can calibrate the battery with your turbo charger, follow the procedure here, worked for me!

so you don't have to dig, cheers!
plug into turbo charger, hold power till it cycles on it's own (you'll see the real %), leave plugged in and walk away for an hour.
I had the same problem and I had to return the phone to motorola. Tried the steps to recalibrate it and it didn't work. Motorola replaced it under warranty under defective battery

No. This was debunked over 2 years ago, though some of us already knew better.

I just tested the OP, and wouldn't you know it, mine shut off at like 6%. I plugged it in, had to wait about a minute, then turned it on. While the power was off, it was not reading a %, so I am assuming 0%. When the phone booted, it was at 6%.

Do you use a wireless charger?
Nope!!! The Turbo charger every time. I usually charge around 40%, that's where I usually am at the end of the day. But, I tested this yesterday.

About 2 minutes after I took those, my phone shut off. So I am assuming about 6%. Then when the phone turned back on, it was showing 6%.

That happened to me one time and it was due to a qi charger. Ever since it dies at 1%.
