Hello I have a question I have a galaxy Note and it´s rooted, I need to un root it cause I need to take it to warranty service I have CWM installed and Android 2.3.5 stock but my kernel is not stock so I have the triangle, the problem here is that I have been reading and all the things I have seen to un-root the phone need the USB cable, I need to take the phone to warranty because it isn´t charging, and it´s connecting to the PC so I can’t use that method Is there a way using CWM or Mobile Odin to get a stock kernel?? Or any other thread where I can find that.
Version of android is 2.3.5 and the kernel is [email protected] #2 AND THE COMPILATION NUMBER IS UBKJ8
Thanks for the help
Just use mobile odin to flash a stock gb kernel then factory reset it..

If you have a yellow triangle you should run triangle away BEFORE using Mobile odin

Hi guys, I am a bit 'desperate, I unfortunately the other day I installed it in my notes a kernel that unfortunately has damaged my recovery mode, the phone no longer gave me the opportunity even to restore a backup, of course it will odin mobile rom manager worked, so only solution I had to flash a kernel on odin with the pc and I solved the problem but I did take the counter with its yellow triangle. So I took and followed to perfection (well I had the stopwatch) driving with the jig and odin, but besides not work gave me because I was nail-biting with a black screen for over an hour. I have a couple of questions / concerns: - I read that flashando odin with a PC in the stock kernel (currently I xxlb1, I can use these kernel firmware?)'ll Remove ignition the yellow triangle but nn I reset the counter, right? In addition, subsequent flashes with Cwm, Roma manager and mobile odin increase or leave unchanged the counter? -But if flasho with odin old pc n firmware, for example KKA with the pit and the three files that happen? I apologize in advance if this question of hours and already been addressed, and if my posts are messy but really are desperate ... Thank you and good weekend to all
Flash counter remains untouched when you flash ne stock rom whether single /multi files.
If u use mobile odin / cwm still it remain unchanged.
You can flash kernel without problem with mobile Odin.
Rom manager mot supports note.
Just remember, you have not to flash any custom rom/kernel with pc odin

Advice
Thanks for your answer,
So what is your advice? I don t want to see yellow triangle, so to erase that I can flash by odin mobile or Cwm a stock kernel???
Now in my phone I have xxlb1, do you know where I can find the right kernel stock?
Please help me thanks a lot
Here's what I would do. Install a new rooted ICS rom, use triangleaway to reset binary counter
I'm pretty sure triangle away only works with ICS. Can anyone confirm? Want to make sure I'm giving correct info.
Afterwards you can then PC Odin back to a stock rom.
Hope this helps

I want to upgrade/update from stock GB rooted. Which one to use? I have paid mobile odin and also access to pc odin. Which one is guaranteed not to have binary count and/or Yellow triangle?

If you're going to Stock ICS then use PC Odin, It will not increase the Binary counter - either way you will lose root but follow Dr. K's method to root once on ICS.
I believe the Yellow triangle will only trigger if flashing a non-stock (Custom) Kernel via PC Odin. I use Mobile ODIN for kernel flashing.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just watched Cursed4eva youtube video using Mobile Odin to flash German ICS stock on rooted gb. I think that was also ok. but he did mention if binary count is triggered. It also has everroot enabled. Seems ok ?
If you want to flash just stock ROM, you can use either.
Stock ROM won't raise counter in anyway.
But i do recommend is go with PC Odin. as well clean.
You are already rooted so make backup with titanium
Hard reset (wipe cache and data from recovery) on existing GB ROM
-Flash ICS using PC Odin
-Root it, and restore appl using TB (avoid restoring sys junk, just only restore user app)
And yes above menton method won't increae flash counter.
Use first link on my signature to get ICS ROM + installation N rooting instruction

Successfully updated to DXLR2. Now another question- How do I install a custom kernel like Speedmod without triggering the binary counter?
Follow Dr.ketan's Rooting guide for ICS and install a custom kernel through CWM recovery or using mobile ODIN. :good:
Pc odin is more safer than mobile odin

I usually flash kernels with Mobile Odin or CWM.. I don't like to flash custom kernels with PC Odin as the Binary counter increases. Yes, I know that you can use Triangle Away.. But this for me should be a last resort when there are other methods available..
I rooted via Dr. K's method and flashed the latest Speedmod Kernel via Mobile Odin - I am running Stock 4.0.3 with SpeedMod K3-11. NO Binary count increase and no need for Triangle Away...
I think there's a few people getting to used to using TA to take short cuts to do things....It is itself, not without risk...

I've searched for hours about this and you might have just answered my lingering question. I am on stock rooted 4.0.3, and have been looking to flash a custom kernel, while avoiding pc odin, and binary count. Just wasn't sure if mobile odin was safe or not to flash kernel, while running stock kernel.

Mobile Odin is safe to flash a custom kernel.
Download the kernel you want to flash to your SD card (internal or external).
Run Mobile Odin, grant access through Superuser and go to the kernel section inside Mobile Odin pro and look for the kernel that you earlier saved from the download.
After that, just tap on flash firmware (inside Mobile Odin still) and that would restart your phone and once booted, you now have a new kernel.

Thanks for all the replies- sorry for further asking. Suppose I want to get back to GB from present ICS stock with Speedmod kernel can I use Mobile Odin right away to flash any stock GB? Or go the PC odin route? Which is safer?
I hope this thread will be helpful for me and others with semi-noob questions.
I was on Cyanogenmod 9.1 with the amazing HydraCore kernel v4.3 STD; then I flashed from CWM this sweet and smooth ROM (Crash v10) which run "CF ROOT XXLRQ (Thanks to Chainfire)". Now, Chainfire says that his kernel is technically "unsafe", because it comes from Samsung, but he can wipe without problems. I have two questions:
1) Can I flash HydraCore from CWM starting from CF-Root without brick-risk?
2) Can I flash HydraCore with Odin Mobile PRO or PC Odin is better? I mean, PC Odin is quite without risk, Odin Mobile PRO is the same?
Thanks to you all.

1). Yes, you can install hydracore thru recovery. But never do full wipe on unsafe kernel.
2. Pc odin and mobile are different. Im assume your phone has rooted and able to use mobile odin. Then you can download hydracore in tar. File and flash it thru mobile odin.

After Odin you got triangle use Triangle away.
GB kernels are safe.
CM9,Cm10 Hydracore are safe.
ICS from Samsung have a brick bug.

Thank you guys
I asked this because I knew that flashing with PC Odin is near-no-risk, so I wanted to know if Mobile Odin PRO (on rooted phone, off course) is no-risk the same. So I can assume that using PC Odin or Mobile Odin PRO is the same thing, speaking about riskness?
Sorry for my bad english
No... Mobile odin and pc odin are completely different things.. Anyways mobile odin its safer because you don't need wires that could be bad somehow or several other factors that may brick your phone while using PC Odin eg. Random pc reboot in the middle of the process.
And mobile odin its also better for flashing kernels because you don't get triangles or counters like pc odin..
Also safer to flash baseband than cwm that may cause damage with a bad zip file..
In general try to avoid pc odin as much as you can.. And use cwm only for flashing custom roms (after checking md5) and wipes.. Remember you can only do this procedures from safe kernels (Hydracore, speedmod, etc) because stock ics kernels may brick your device

Hello, I'm currently using a G Note on [email protected] ICS, Build Number IMM76D.XXLRK.
I'm thinking about updating to the JB leak for The G Note but im worried about bricking my phone can anyone tell me what the chance of it bricking is? and how id go about changing my firmware from this rom?
Thankyou.
Flash Philz kernel.
Full wipe and flash whichever ROM you want.....
Also, use search as this question has been asked many times in the past
If you have speedmod kernel the chance of bricking its 0... And if you want the ODIN official JB leak just go Odin mode power+home+volume down then flash.. You don't need to wipe going from Ics to JB TW

So its just a case of finding the JB leak i want then, putting it on SD card and flashing using mobile ODIN?

No, you should allways follow the installation instructions in the specific thread for the JB Custom Rom you want.
If you choose the XXLSA leak from sammobile.com (that was the base leak for all following XXLSA/C Custom Roms) then you can use Mobile Odin - I did this many times without problems.
OK thankyou

Go here and download the version you want
http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=GT-N7000
Second download odin from here or you can even use this stock rooted version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035127
I went for straight stock then rooted after but everyone has thier own ideas!
Ok thankyou I already have ODIN on my phone. Is it safer too use the PC Odin?

Mobile odin and pc odin is similar.
The only different from what I know is.... with mobile odin you can keep ur root, and flash custom kernel.
Whereby with pc odin, all will be brand new. No root, stock kernel.
If ur device is rooted alrd, and u have cwm recovery installed, why don't u choose custom rom, and just flash it from cwm recovery?
Easier, fast, no headache.
Custom rom has some tweaks that might improve performance.
But choice is urs. Good luck mate.

I prefer Mobile odin if already rooted as this way we can change the kernel at the time of flash to be safe
Hi
Need help , please
1) I had to get gingerbread 2.3.6 on my phone and full root before cvxcvx could restore my imei. I did this and rooted With abyss kernel. The Method I used did the following. I got the triangle and binary Counter was set to 1. Now I have emei but I cant get my phone to update to jb because of this. Now I did not found out any other way to root gingerbread.
Then I flashed Gingerbread once again using Odin With gingerbread tar file, Nordic countries. Afterwards it restarted as it suppose to do. I tapped my sim pincode when promted. Now nothing happened to my phone other than that I lost my root. The sms and historik data is still there. but the triangle is gone but my binary Counter is still active, thus I cant get the Samsung jb update.
1) think I now should do a wipe data/ factory reset and then continued to 2)?
( I wanted to use this Method to resett my binary Counter by using triangle away: video cursed4eva ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa-t-8ypcYs ) written description ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1494114). But does only work With Stock kernel. I have rooted With abyss kernel which is custum if I am not wrong. This is the only way I know to root gingerbread on my Note. )
I also have Stock firmware ics Nordic countries which I want to flash using Odin. And this I can root With philz kernel which is Stock I think. And then I can go on With resetting binary Counter(video above cursed4eva).
2) I want to get my Stock ics on my phone using odin.
NOW THE MAIN QESTION IS DO I HAVE TO ROOT GINGERBREAD WHITH ABYSS KERNEL AGAIN SO THAT I CAN FLASH STOCK ICS USING ODIN OR CAN I JUST FLASH ICS WITH ODIN WITHOUT A ROOT? OR SAID ANOTHER WAY DO I NEED ROOT TO FLASH ICS USING ODIN?
Hope You can answer me 1) and 2)
There is no need of root for flashing with odin. While you are on GB rom, do a factory reset. (will loose data). Then flash with stock ICS. Do not wipe while on stock ICS kernel. Once flashing is done, use Philz kernel to root.

Hi
Ok I did a factory resett on GB and then I flashed ics using odin(Odin3-v1.85). . when on Stock ICS kernel i did not do a wipe/faktory resett. I then went right to root my phone With philz kernel With this kernel on ext. sd card( Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed ) using Method volum up , Power, home and then selected update from ext. sd card and so on. Now I tried to Connect to network and it does not Connect. i still have imei. when I go
into settings and mobile network. When I tap network operators it only finds network operators like , Telenor, Netcome, mobile Norway but not Onecall(which I am using). Then I tap Select automatically, I then get a Message in small letters on my screen saying; network registered (googled mobile norway + onecall, and it seems that Onecall is getting their net from Telenor and mobile norway, thats somehow I get the Message registered on network I think). So I am able to download the JB update from Samsung over wifi (I have downloaded but of course not run it?), but I dont get to Connect to mobilnetwork and surf With f.ex my net-browser.
What do I do now? Og back to GB and see If it function again? Or just go on to resett my binary Counter or do the jb update which I have downloaded.
If I am to go to resett my binary Counter. I wanted to use this Method to resett my binary Counter by using triangle away: video cursed4eva ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa-t-8ypcYs ) written description ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1494114). I seems a bit scary that I gonna totally brick my phone and have to replace the hole mainboard. but I am running out of options it seems.
Have to say loosing imei has been and still is a true nightmare. promblems doent seem to stop
