Hello,
I am getting a new KFHD today, and I was wondering if anyone could help me do these things on it. I have searched but I can not find a step by step guide on any of them. I have no problem rooting it or anything.
1 Disable ads on lock screen( unless I can get GO locker, see below)
2 Install a custom launcher (i.e Nova or Apex) and set it as default
3 Google Play Store
Thanks,
Doolster
#1 and #3 are answered already in other posts, please search. #2 I don't think anyone has messed with this much, but again search around.
1. Pay the $15 or there is another thread on here where someone did it, though it's at your own risk, there is a possibility of bricking your KFHD if not done properly.
2. It is not possible at this time to change the launcher, by default. ADW launcher EX does work but you can not associate it with the home button.
3. People have installed play rooted. There are already threads with step by step instructions.
Hack to use in Canada
Anyone know if it's possible to hack these things to use in Canada? I don't see any roms available that would allow me to use the standard Play store instead of amazon's app store. I'd like to get one and see what the fuss is about but obviously, I'm not in the US.
Hi!
I wrote already similar question on Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 thread, but didn't got right answer. Got only one answer: go menu/ my apps. LOL. It shows the apps, what you have installed on your phone..
I am looking a way how to find my paid apps on Google Play market. Early days, when Google Android OS FroYo was hard stuff and market had name Android Market, there was a way find your paid apps. Not anymore. Even with this brand new Google Play market.
I am not talking now about custom ROM's and problem to find paid apps; prob.build or market enablers. No no. I can see all my apps if I just remember the name or have took a list with App Dragon or similar app collector. But if time runs on, you have change to forgot some your paid apps. Like I had bought Minecraft pocket edition when Google Market celebrated 10 000 000 0000 downloads and the price was only 10 cent. Etc.
Problem would be solved if there is a similar value than File Managers on PC have: name, modified, type, size, or it have advanced search for your paid apps. Or there is own tab for your paid apps.
Now I am looking your help. Have you met an app, what can search your paid apps or how you search them? In my case if I go with my PC browser to Google Play market, I can see first my installed apps for current AndroidOS. In this case Mackay v4.2.2 Jelly Bean custom ROM. Below I see other larger list of apps from early days and it start from first day I used my Android phone. There are all apps what I have installed and then uninstalled. Becouse the list is so huge, it can show only from letter A to E. So, if I have one hour time to browse all list, I can find some paid apps there, but if my paid app start letter F - Z, then I can see it never again. I have lost them forever, if I cannot remember the app name.
This forum is for qualifying members to release their paid applications. Please follow up on your original thread in the appropriate forum.
Ok this has been happening recently and I can't seem to figure out why.
After installing an app in the app store, it automatically opens chrome (or default browser) and take me to ad.leadboltads.net.
I have tried running various malware software and ad finding software but nothing is standing out. I also tried uninstalling recent apps. I don't want to do a factory reset, but if nothing else works I will.
BTW...never been rooted.
Any ideas?
solved
I downloaded AVG and it found the culprit. It was crystal theme for next launcher. The mention ads in the play store description but at the bottom.

AVG didn't do a thing for me.
Lookout Security & Antivirus found mine in ChargeBar Free Edition,
ChargeBar came embedded in the NottachTrix 2.3.0 ROM.
I installed it (NottachTrix) and it (ChargeBar) didn't update for 3 months, then, BANG.
I've deleted ChargeBar's update, moved it from system apps to apps, deleted it, and the browser pop open 'ad.leadboltads.net' still persists.
Lookout Security & Antivirus can not find the new location of the malware, they do not have a forum.
By the very definition and behaviour, this is malware, and, ChargeBar (Asgard Casino Apps) is involved in the distribution of malware.
Asgard Casino Apps distributes 34 apps that behave this way.
They are using Google to distribute this malware, abet, that app is benign in its origin, its a pipeline, or conduit for malware.
Sneaky F##kers aren`t they.........
#1) I would like to get this crap off my phone.
#2) I need to bring this to Google's attention, and have the developer banned from the Play store.
Sooo, starting with #1,,,how do I get this crap off my phone!
NOTE:
I will be linking to this post in the NottachTrix post, I'm asking the developers to to move ChargeBar from the ROM zip.

I am having the same problem,I have scanned it with AVG and Lookout and can't find anything,it comes up when it installs or updates from google play...?
Yep found it it was a Galaxy S4 Next Launcher theme by BUTTERFLY,In Google Play they should have a warning notice up on apps that have adds like this "WARNING THIS APP HAS LEADBOTADS ADDS" No more themes for me.
Thank you guys so much that was the problem for me too. Crystal theme for next launcher.
I appreciate it!

Hi all,
New Kindle owner here, and a very resourceful Android/iOS nerd.
My question is simple-- has anyone had success in cloning the built-in "Amazon Kindle" system app?
I'm looking to use multiple Kindle accounts. One is my US account (Prime account; where I have most of my audiobooks) and one is my JP account (where I have most of my Kindle books).
From what I recall on my TF300T tablet, the Google Play store edition of this app takes your Amazon login directly from the main screen when you first open it. In contrast, the Amazon Kindle system app on Fire devices takes your login from the account you use in Amazon's version of the Settings app.
I've tried using an app from the Play Store called "App Cloner" and have purchased the full version. I tried cloning the "Amazon Kindle" app twice with different configurations, but have not played with it much more. Most I've tried is removing permissions from it, in an effort to block it from automatically taking my US login from Settings.
I'm afraid that the remedy to this may be to download the Play Store version and clone that one instead. Problem is I lost my TF300T, and the Play Store on my Kindle reports it's already installed. (Interestingly enough, Google Play doesn't recognize Audible as already installed-- making a second copy of Audible easy to obtain)
Anyone have luck with this? Would love to figure out how to make this possible and write up a guide for it.
I'd like to know this too. I bought a kindle on someone elses amazon account so their account came attached. I removed it, but then that family member asked to read their kindle on my fire. So I couldn't add the account back for 6 months. So I was hoping to just remove the default one and add the regular version from the play store but it doesn't function for some reason. I would love to be able to log into a different kindle account just for the book store. I've had a bad time switching ROM and had to get a new one so I'd like to just avoid changing the OS for now.
Well, I have some good news and bad news regarding the subject. But, overall I would say it's progress none the less.
I *DID* find my TF300T, so I was able to download the Play Store version of the Kindle app and successfully clone it. I also managed to successfully install the cloned app. Unfortunately this is as far as I got.
When I launch the cloned app, the splash screen loads very briefly and the app crashes. I will test installing the cloned app on my TF300T and see if it opens cleanly on that device.
If it works on the TF300T, then there is something on the Fire 7" that prevents the clone (or even just the stock app) from operating correctly. I will post back (or edit my post) with my findings.
Hello!
I have bought the latest kindle fire hd 8 (2017) and i have installed in it the google playstore. I can downoad apps and all but when i try to download a plugin for an app (for example an offline dictionary for colordict) it shows me the message "this app is trying to open a link with an external market" and redirects me to the amazon appstore instead of the google playstore that i want. Does anyone have any solution for this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Another user has reported the same problem with the same plugin. One of two possibilities exist now: 1) Plugins are no longer supported in these tablets 2) The plugin is no longer supporting the tablet.
If you didn't uninstall any apps via the tool, or manually, then this is a mystery. If you have uninstalled anything, you'll have to factory reset and hope what you did disable was the cause.
EDIT: Also could be a core item Google requires to run the plugin, which the tablets don't have. For example, no versions of Gmail will work on any tablet model as of the moment.
