Did u flash safe kernel before flashing the JB rom? Or did u factory reset/wiped on stock kernel?
dude just saying downloading files and installing wont work.. you need to let us know the exact files you downloaded, method followed, and state of the phone before installing the new rom, as in if it was rooted or what version of rom? anything

ok the files i've downloaded and put them on the sd card were aokp_n7000_jb_build-2 and gapps-jb-20121011-signed and after copying them on the sd card i pressed the power+volume up+home buttons and chose to wipe everything then i went and chose the aokp_n7000_jb_build-2 and it started installing it then suddenly it turned off and nothing is working since then
hmmm..
ok check if something happens if you press the (vol down + power + home) for a while. report back

well nothing is happening at all when pressing the 3 buttons together, all i wanna do is restoring it to factory settings and nothing more but i don't know how to do this now
its the vol down this time not up..
Remove battery
reinsert it after a few secs
again vol down power and home
if nothing happens try charging the battery for a while and try the above steps
1) Charge your phone.
2) Install Kies on your computer.
3) Restart computer
4) Plug phone into computer. Is it detected?
5) Repeat step 4 but after pressing volume down/power/home
6) Repeat step 5 but after using samsung USB jig (you have to buy it but it's cheap)
the samsung USB jig will try to 'force' your phone into the same mode that volume down/power/home does.
I would never ask a regular xda user this question but...
are you sure you have an N7000? does it have a home button? how many contacts are on the battery?

i hate to say it but he updated to the latest stock and then tried to flash files from recovery.
it sounds to me like mmc_cap_erase bug
assuming, of course, that he doesn't have an i717 and flashed N7000 files over it.
which would just as easily brick

OP all hope is not lost though, if you can get into download mode we can save your phone. on the other hand if you are under warranty, go to the Samsung store and tell them you tried to factory reset from stock and it wouldn't boot again (and nothing about rooting etc). you will not be under warranty if you are in the USA or Canada and have an N7000
sounds to me like your flash counter should still be 0

Of course i'm sure that i have Galaxy Note N7000, the only issue is that i'm just new to the android world and i'm not familiar with the android terms like Root, Flash, Kernel and stuff like these and that's why i'm stuck here
But my question is why can't i go to the recovery mood normally like why pressing the home+power+volume down is not working for me?? btw i'm not in the united states and unfortunately i bought this phone when i was on a vacation and i'm in another country right now

Unfortunately i can't
If you can't enter download mode then you're superbricked. You can repartition the chip which is a pretty advanced process and I imagine you'd struggle with it, or you can claim warranty. In future read the forums thoroughly before doing any sort of flashing, start with the stickies and make yourself aware of any and all issues before you flash.

not sure even the battery has any juice left

Hey All,
So I'm in the process of helping a friend with his Galaxy Ace from Koodo. As it turns out the phone looks like it's semi-bricked but we may be mistaken all together so here goes:
My buddy tried using SuperOneClick to root his device however half way through the process, it froze and when he restarted his device, it hangs at the Samsung logo during the startup boot sequence.
1. When using a combination of UP Arrow + Home button + Power, he receives a message stating:
"RAMDUMP Mode
(ARM9 mode)"
In this mode he cannot do very much however his PC does recognize the device. Odin does not work in this mode.
2. When using a combination of DOWN arrow + Home button + Power, he received 2 different screens. The first is a bright pink colored screen that states:
"Warning!
A custom OS can cause critical problem in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press Volume UP key. Otherwise, press Volume DOWN key to cancel."
Pressing the down arrow brings him back to the frozen Samsung logo on startup however when pressing the UP arrow, the phone goes into "Downloading..." mode. In this mode, Odin DOES work.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the troubleshooting we've done. We managed to find a few articles online that asked us to use the Odin tool. We downloaded a few different sets of the files needs (Cooper.ops, CODE, MODEM, CSC & BOOT). Odin then detects the phone in 'Downloading..." mode and proceeds to installing the rom. It completes successfully however it does not reboot. The screen simply flashes with the Samsung logo again.
The original firmware build before the device stopped working ended with TLKI4.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Can anyone suggest anything else we can try?
2. Do you know if the bootloader needs to be flashed first and if so, how?
Note: We can not take the device back to Koodo as it was purchased on Kijiji and no receipt was provided. It's the GT-S5830D.
Thanks in advance,
1- boot into recovery and try to wipe data and cache. u can enter recovery mode by pressing home+power.
2- it doesnt matter, u already flashed new bootloader by flashing the phone via odin.
btw does the "D" in "GT-S5830D" bring any different in hardware with international regular GT-S5830 that most of us here use?
if its different by somehow, u shouldnt flash generic international GT-S5830 rom into it. i know for sure that galaxy ace korean version cannot use generic rom from international galaxy ace.
yep there are some 5830D specific roms on sammobile.. try them instead of generic ace

Can you point me to a certain rom/boot loader to download from sammobile? I was there earlier this morning however I didn't see any mention of Canada anywhere and I left before I messed things up further.
Even if you could just tell me which one it is I have to download, I'll do the rest myself.
Thanks a bunch!

There is no option to wipe the device. In fact, I have had other Galaxy S models and I'm pretty familiar with the screen however the Ace does not load into that recovery. Either it goes to "Downloading.." or "RAMDUMP (Arm9 mode)".
Thanks

Thanks buddy! I tried that exact ROM however it didn't seem to work either. I used the 'Coopers_V1.0.ops" file under the "OPS" option in Odin and the "S5830DTLKI4_S5830DTLSKI4_S5830DTLKI4_HOME.tar.md5" file under the "One Package" option. Like I said before, the flash went through in "Downloading..." mode, and Odin said "PASS" however, when it came time for the phone to reboot itself, the screen started flashing and did nothing new. Same Samsung logo appears and it seems to hang right there.
Also I dont think the device has a same recovery menu anymore because even though I hold down the Home + Power buttons, it does nothing. It simply flases the screen at the Samsung logo screen.
Any other tips for me to try? Thanks again!
wierd that u cannot enter recovery mode while u can enter download mode and successfully flash it using odin.
even if u messed up recovery when u first use superoneclick earlier, flashing via odin should also flash it with new fresh recovery. so how long did u hold the home+power? i'm asking just to be sure. maybe u not hold it long enough for recovery mode to kick in.

I held it down for more than a minute just to make sure. As soon as I put the battery back in and try and restart the phone, it goes into an infinite loop at the Samsung screen.
Even I find it odd that the phone will go into Downloading mode but not recovery.
Any other suggestions?
try to install qtadb (google for it). connect the phone with pc via usb, launch qtadb and boot the phone. qtadb should display some logcat. paste the logcat output here. maybe we might have a clue whats wrong by looking into the logcat
but even if phone still stuck, just wait a few moment. if qtadb had access to the phone system via its native filemanger, it means u can use adb. use adb to reboot phone into recovery

As far as I can tell QtADB isn't even detecting the phone. I have tried to complete the procedure over and over however no show. I may not have installed ADB correctly though so I'll give it a shot again a little later.

Hi Folks
I am trying to solve the problem of my Note going into a bootloop after a Rocket Rom install. Not sure what caused it, perhaps i didnt freeze the WiFi well enough?
So here is the scenario:
Rooted and working Galaxy note with CWM installed. Current rom was backed up. Zip of Rocket Rom was placed in the sdcard folder on the phone and the phone was then rebooted into CWM Recovery mode. The "install zip from SD card" is selected and the process ran and completed with no errors.
Now, as the Note restarts, it goes into the bootloop at the Rocket Rom loading screen.
I searched for possible answers on this forum as well as other Android forums but could not find a relevant solution for the note. Other phones solutions did not work...
So now i am trying to restore the phone back to stock from backup or another rom by holding Vol+Power+Home buttons. However, this does not get me to the regular CWM scroll screen with options! It takes me to ODIN Mode big green android logo with "Downloading... Do not turn off target" under it instead... So i cant re-flash it via CWM?
Using ODIN on my PC - dont know what files to select for BOOTLOADER, PDA, PHONE, CSC... Not sure if this is the best solution either.
How can i recover my device? Thank you in advance!
I was in the same condition because installed 19_1 without 19. I flashed an older rootable stock rom with odin via PC, rooted it and installed CWM, then installed 19 and 19_1 afterwards.
Select PDA and then the .tar file. It would do. Here is a tutorial, it is the same for SGN:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEjTaFg_2Ks
Thank you i am going to try that! I actually went with v19, didnt do 19.1
Keep in mind CWM recovery is VOL UP,MENU,POWER NOT VOL DOWN.
Got me out of the same situation last night where it would only go into ODIN mode and nearly gave me a heart attack
Thank you!! I actually just figured that out a few minutes ago myself, after pressing the buttons and rebooting a bunch of times all of a sudden i booted into the CWM menu... Must have pressed the Volume UP by accident I tagged this post - might be a good tip for someone running into the same issue and doing a search on here. Such as simple solution, but if you dont know it - can be very frustrating
So the issue is solved - was able to wipe all and re-flash with Rocket v19. Now on to sync all accounts and restore all apps with Titanium back up Pro. Thanks again folks good of you to jump in and help me out.

just on that...do you reboot the phone inbetween the 19 and 19.1 or do you just choose to install 19.1 zip straight after installing 19 without rebooting the phone
I having same problem, but I still cannot go into download mode or recovery mode (CWM)..
I was using CWM to flash RocketRom V19
Any ideas guys?
Help needed
When bootloop If I press press power button long the phone turn off a while then reboot automatically.
I even tried remove the battery then try to go to CWM menu (vol up + home) then power..
Or vol down + home (download mode)..
But failed..
I'm getting scared now

From viny2cool:
1. remove the usb cable, battery, sdcard, SIM.
2. wait 10 seconds, then insert the USB cable.
3. press and hold the 3 button combo while you insert the battery
4. continue to hold until phone's screen goes black twice and release power button.
5. timing is critical, it may not work the first time. Keep going until you see the COM port is connected properly.
I flash using Odin and my Note back to Life x_x
Rocket v21
Flashed couple of times exactly the way Rocket install procedure, Note goes into bootloop. Finally have to do Stock flash. Its the worst ROM I have come across for all those Android phones I used with.

Was it an OTA or KIES update u did?
U rooted and on stock or any custom rom ?
If not rooted....then u can still try hitting volume up + home + power buttons all at the same time and holding them pressed till the time the same N7000 logo shows up and leave the buttons then. The phone should boot into stock recovery. Now try clearing the cache there if the option is available. If nothing works then either wipe/format your note (warning all data will be lost except the internal/external sd card) or reflash the firmware through PC odin using Dr Ketan's guide from the stickies post in the development section of note forum here on xda.
How did you update you phone? Via kies?
i am new to all these things! i haven't rooted my phone as well! jst went on to "about phone" and update. after which it didn't started. tried the vol. up home key and power didn't worked...
So it was an OTA update. Did you tried pressing volume down + home + power button for booting into download mode?
ya tried that as well but it said custom OS can cause critical problems so canceled it...

vol up+home+power should work. Try that again and keep pressing them till the time the n7000 logo shows up and leave them immediately after it.
if u are not able to get into recovery then the only way for you is to flash via odin.

No. You just flash the latest firmware you want from the PC odin. The phone will be stock rom and wont be rooted unless you run the rooting tool.

yes it does enter what i presume to be download mode (up to continue, down to restart)
Boot into download mode and flash a stock rom via Odin then start over your not bricked don't worry
After you do the stock ROM via Odin and let it settle, you can try the ICS repack again. Someone here can help you, but theres already good threads out there for step by step.
One thing I can say since you asked what not to do again is use PC Odin instead of Mobile Odin. Yes, you will get a triangle but you can use triangle away to get rid of it, if you wish. I personally sport the triangle on my phone
Yeah, your phone is not bricked, no worries.
Here's a thread that will help you, make sure to get correct files and flash to stock using PC Odin:

Try long pressing power button and rebooting, if not downloading mode is your way, (do you have ICS rom zip into SD Card?), you will need it to flash it, goes to development threads and you can find it, you can choose one of them, actually I´m on Criskelo V2 LPC6 its good for dayly use its full working, when you got it press at same time Vol +/power button/home and enter in Clockwork mode goes to install zip from sd card, choose from sd card and ICS zip, back to menu wipe data, wipe cache, goes to advanced and wipe dalvick cache, reboot system now and follow steps introducing gmail account and its all enjoy yor NOTE with ICS.

Hello
Thankyou for the reply
I was able to get the phone to "Downloading mode" but its not working from there
I tried the links you pointed out and phone seems to be still stuck
When i boot my phone normally, i still have "mobile .. Exclamation .. PC " icon
I can put my phone to Downloading mode with android icon and Odin recognises my phone
But im not able to recover the phone from that state
Can you guide me to thread which can help me from those steps
Shls i download bootloader or without bootloader ...any steps are appreciated
I was once in the spot you are in, even to the point of having the same screen and not getting to Recovery.
I solved my problem with this Heimdall One-Click from the thread you originally referenced:

Man.. you are my hero
My fone is up and running now with first time flash. i see some pixel thing u mentioned but everything is sweet
Could you kindly help me show steps to upgrade the fone to latest software ,, lollipop or kitkat
thanks again
I took mine up to CyanogenMod 10.2, which is JellyBean 4.3.
Since then I have reflashed it with GamerzRom v4, based on CyanogenMod 10.1 - JellyBean 4.2.2. It's thread is here.
I am using my Captivate as a media player and Sports App/Activity tracker. In fact I have disabled much that came with the ROM, an act to pare down what is running on it. I haven't tried any of the KitKat or Lollipop ports available in the forum. Recommending any of them would be pure guesswork on my part. The best I can do is suggest reading a portion of the threads for the ROMs available, being clear about what you expect your phone to do, and try the best fit. There is no reason you couldn't try several.
Thank you fro the reply
how did you get into recovery mode?
I tried pressing volume up/down and power button and all i see is att logo
Go into download mode and use odin one click to flash stock Rom.
There are many ways to boot into download mode, its different from recovery mode in case you bricked your phone and you're not able to access the recovery you could try going into dl mode and using a computer and a USB cable to fix it. I will post a tutorial link.

Before you started all of this were you on GingerBread bootloaders?
If you were not on GB bootloaders, did you flash them when you used the Odin/Heimdall One-Click?
At this point I am thinking you should have a stock recovery on your phone. Even so, you should still be able to get into Recovery Mode, either stock or custom, with one of the listed methods. I am almost at the point of suggesting you reflash the Odin One-Click.

At this point I am thinking you should have a stock recovery on your phone. Even so, you should still be able to get into Recovery Mode, either stock or custom, with one of the listed methods. I am almost at the point of suggesting you reflash the Odin One-Click.

Thanks for the reply
I was on froyo 2.2 and while i was flasing to GB i got into issue
I used the steps you mentioned to recover the device from bricked mode
now i have stock rom and the phone is up and running fine but could not get into recovery to flash a new rom to move to 4,4
The solution may be to Odin flash a KK4 kernel that includes CWM recovery. I an searching for the Corn KK4 kernel, the one I used, but have yet to find it.

Before you flash more with bootloaders and modems I would suggest using the Phone Info *Samsung* app to verify what is on the phone. It is free in the Play Store, the dev is vndnguyen. I don't actually think there would be a problem one way or the other, but it's always good to know and this way you flash the correct kernel.
