Charging outlet 5V / 1.2amps

Just found out that the LG USB wall outlet has a output of 5V or 1.2 amps while my apple and samsung USB wall outlet of 5V or 1.0amps
The regular wall charger for my sg2 had a output of 5V or 0.7 amps
Figure i give a heads up to those who wants to have a shorter charge time.
I got a 2a USB charger that I have always used for this reason sure in wont get the 2a but will at least get max that I can

The charge rate is fixed by the phone. You could have a 100A charger and the battery would still charge at 900mA (in the case of the SGS3 and Nexus 4). The charge rate from USB remains at 450mA

So if you use a 5V / .7 amps charger for the Nexus it should be OK right?

Yes, it will just charge slightly slower.

No. It's better to use a stronger charger than a weaker one. The phone will only drain as much as it needs.
If you guys have a N7 you can only carry the N7 charger as it will charge both devices as fast as they technically can charge.

Time to charge the phone

Hi,
how long do your XZs need to charged? I got a 3m usb cable to charge my phone using the docking station and have the feeling it was taking longer than before. Currently it charged 50% in 1h 40min.
I hope it isn't bad for battery health

How are you charging the phone? Via USB 2.0 on a computer OR using the supplied Sony charger that came with the phone?
Also, what dock is it?
Sony DK26 dock, Sony charger

If you are charging it via PC via usb 2.0 (black) it will only charge at 500mA which is really slow. If you try a USB 3.0 (blue) slot it charges at 900mA which is faster. If you use the charger that came with the phone it will charge way faster since it's 1.5A (1500mA)
As I already said in my previous post, I'm using the original Sony Charger.
It charged so slow that it must have been about 700mA per hour. I think I'll search for another micro usb cable, that allows me to charge faster

Slow charging is better charging! I use a charger from an older smartphone.. 875mA..
Takes about an hour to get 20-70, another hour for the remaining 30%. But I keep it at 20-80 at most times because most guides told me so .
Over night i plug it to pc. and it actually had 0 to 78 on 5 hours so its pretty slow

Sorry misread that lol. I don't know why the USB cord sony supplied can't be longer? My SGS3 cable was way longer and i liked that. I wonder if a usb extension would be a better choice since the original cable is really good quality....

Interesting, I have a 1.5m USB cable (not the sony) and using the OEM sony charger it will just barely charge my Z. So maybe my issue is the cable length.. I'll try it with the sony USB cable tonight to see if this fixes my problem.

Charging current

Hi,
I have 2 samsung chargers one with 1A and one with 2A. I don't own original huawei charger and i dont know how much Amper is original one,. Is there any problem to charge it with samsung charger? What do you suggest, with which one is healthy to charge my p7 with 1A or 2A? I searched in the internet, and says that there is no problem with 2A. What are your experiences? Thanks
My Huawei travel charger says: Output 0.5V, 550mA.
The 2A or even 1A could kill your battery. Get one in AliExpress (I got one for my Acer A500 tablet for less then 10 Euros).
Cheers

LOL, I don't know!
I plug my phone into charger when I go to sleep and I take it of tomorrow morning.
You have a "charching electronic" (sorry, don't know how to call in English). So don't worry about the Ampere, the phone takes only what it is able to handle..

Îśy original huawei charger is 1.0 A output . Nothing will happen if you use a 2.0 A.The 5V are all the phone needs and all the usb charges make 5V.The more the Amps the quicker it charges.

well sometime i use lenovo k900's charger with 2A output, nothing weird happen excepts my phone is a little warmer than stock charger. I think i won't cause damage (i usually using dock charger for xperia z with 1.8A output, larger than 1.5A output on the stock charger, nothing weird up to now ). But, you shouldn't use that charger too often. Stock charger is always the safetest way
sorry for my bad english

i m using sony 2A charger for last 1 yr and i have no prblem with that. instead it charges the mobile faster and better
The phone regulates the charging current it 'pulls' from the charger. So you could plug it into a 10A charger and it won't harm it.

No Fast Charge

I just bought a Xz1 compact. It works great except that it won't fast charge; I've tried using the charger that came with phone and another I had lying around. Is there anything I can do for a fix? I checked the battery settings to make sure none of the options were enabled. I tried disabling Battery Care, but it didn't help.

It's definitely the same shape. No model # tho.
The stock charger included in the XZ1 Compact retail box is only 1.5A, it isn't a fast charger and will not fast charge the phone. You will need to get a Qualcomm Quickcharge 3.0 compatible charger for fast charging.

That's quite cheap of them. The other charger I tried would fast charge my LG G5. Shouldn't it do that same for the XZ1?

That charger should fast charge the XZ1C then. I did some searching and found out that unlike other manufacturers, Sony phones will not indicate anywhere when the phone is being fast charged:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XZ1-Compact/Quick-Charge-Not-Working/m-p/1281209/highlight/true#M1178
There is an app called Ampere on the Play Store that will show how fast the phone is being charged, but it isn't 100% accurate. The best way to find out would be to simply measure the charging times from empty to full.
I have tested alot of chargers..even a 80 USD USB PD 61w. This damn phone wont charge faster than 1.6 amps @ 5v
Is it some kind of software limitation? I had the P20 and it charges fast as hell with QC3.0. 0-80% in 40mins.
I tested this Xz1 and it took nearly 70mins 0-80% with battery optimization off.
Sony claims and i belive them that battery life will last longer,, but who gives a ****. I want qc3.0 charging speed.
Charging at 5v and around 1.5amps. Ive read somewhere that the battery gets to warm charging like [email protected]
So its not adaptable, i placed my phone with its charger connected thru the window (-2 C) and it had like 2%.
This damn phone is restricted to 1.5-1.6 ampere (5v)..it wont go faster. So why is it QC3.0 cert?
This annoys me alot..isnt there a 30w charger? I guess it wont help.
Im gonna buy one of those plugs that show you amps, wattage and so on..doesnt believe the software you can download.
I believe that XZ1 Compact IS QC3.0 but battery get to warm, so they reduce charging speed...
I personally prefer no fast charge. The physically life of the battery last longer. My Nexus 6P had fast charge, it's not holding up for 2 hours now.
I have read somewhere that you have to disable all the battery saver stuff in order for QuickCharge to fully have effect.
However, even with all that enabled, my phone charges really quick from empty to full in like 2 hours.
Looks good to me.

2 hours is BAD. 2700mAh battery fully charged in 2 hours? The Huawei P20 charges its 4000mAh battery in like 45min.
The UCH20 wont pass 1.5 amps (5v).
If you turn your device off and charging and also turn off the battery opti. i believe 0-100% in like an hour..
And for those who believe its the charger are wrong. I have tried QC 3.0, QC4,0, 61W USB-c. This device is what do you say in English.."strangled" ...software limitation..
What about the XZ2 and the XZ3? Any notification ? They use the same charger i believe
2 hours? Something's wrong. U might have the right charger, but... R u sure u have a decent type c cable? Not all of them are the same (I have some experience, believe me)

Got a recommendation for a quality cable? I have a few different ones. The only name I can remember is Brexit, but I could be spelling it wrong.
I use Aukey QC 3.0 . Work great for fast charger since I use Z3C , then Z5C , now XZ1C. I use usb doctor to check volt and ampere, 9V output and 1A++, sometime got 2A when below 15% of battery.
My device is root, and use charge limit for the life time battery.
