[Q] my new High capacity batter! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I got a new 1900mAH battery (By Feipusi) and I use it for a week now, though I noticed it doesn't do it full work and the battery status bar is sometimes incorrect, is it true I need to discharge->charge it 4-5 times? Do I need to charge it when the phone is off?

Hello!
Have you wiped battery stats? And after every rom flashing I charge fully, than discharge fully my phone once! So it's not needed to charge and discharge fully your phone 4 or 5 times....

When I discharge and charge again do I need to turn off my phone?

First charge up the phone, and wipe battery stats in CWM or with an app from the Play.
Than let the phone copletelly drain and it will turn off itself... Than charge up fully and turn it on. :good:
And you will have a nice, calibrated battery.

ok I downloaded a tool, it says STEP 2 OVERIDE, what does that mean?

No diffrent
I want to destroy this problem for ever
Thanks alot.
No One Know How i can fix it ?
I don't think it's a bug.
I'm pretty sure it's just the way it estimates your battery percentage.
Here's how I think it works.
If you've been using your phone for, say, 3 hours straight, your phone calculates your drain rate like batt%/min or something.
And judging by how long you've used it for, it will estimate the approximate percentage of battery remaining.
When it's on deep sleep for a while, not only is the clock rate different (probably <200mHz at deep sleep), but the drain rate will change too.
The phone will re-estimate the battery percentage according to that new rate, hence the different (often higher) battery percentage, after a period of inactivity.
I could be completely wrong, but that's how I see it.
Thanks for ur Idea Brother
Any one have other Idea ?
I didnt get your problem....

If Battery drain is your problem, try this-
Discharge your battery till it switch off automatically
Now connect your charger in switch off mode and charge it till the full.
Now after recharging it fully, unplug your charger from the socket.
Go to recovery mode and go to advance, wipe battery stats and restart your device.
HIT THANKS BUTTON,AS IT IS MANDATORY.

[Q] Charging Current really low

I have a new battery on my phone. Its working perfect. I had to change because my old battery was swollen and died at 80 percent.
So recently I noticed that as my phone is charging and me doing small tasks on it the percentage of the battery goes down instead of up. Ive ran a battery tester and i get -155 mA going into my phone. So it discharges. I connected my charger to different plugs and I use the stock cable. I have a replacement cable as well. I know my charger is good as it works great on all of my other devices. What could be wrong?
It charges when I leave it. But As im a busy person I need to use it even when its charging. Thanks
Edit: When I dont use it it gets 500 - 700 mA and when used while charging (not used in heavy gaming just a internet or facebook/youtube app) -155 - -500 mA
1.turn off ur phone and charge
2. When its charged to 100% go to cwm recovery and delete the battery stats.
3. Calibrate battery using any app.

Hello. Just do a manual calibration.
Envoyé depuis mon N7000
The same thing is happening with me and I know it's annoying as hell..
Try to calibrate the battery. If it didn't work.. and since the battery is new as you say, maybe just maybe the charger needs to be changed, maybe it's not powerful enough for this specific phone and battery.
I found that all I needed is a better cable as the currentnone was broken. Now its all okay. Thanks

if you've tried goldenkernel v2? then setting the hotplug and battery saver mode on, hopefully this can help you, especially if you use benzrom v6
Recalibrate your battery. Thats what helped me. my device can last 9 hours and still remain 70% battery with normal usage.
Heres how i callibrate.
1) download battery callibration in market.
2) charge the device till 100% (Dont plug it out)
3) power off the phone. I dont know if this will work on ur phone but i get 0% again. So charge it fully again.
4) once it shows 100% , unplug and plug it in again and wait till it reaches 100%. Do it for 4-5 times then reboot.
5) when your phone boots up, it wont be fully charged, so leave it charged till the battery full indicator shows up. Unplug and plug it in to charge again. Keep doing it for 10 times and the battery full indicator will pop up even quickier then the first time.
6) once u done it, open battery callibration and click callibrate.
7) after that, unplug your device and use it . The battery will last very long.
8) use the battery till 1-5%, u can completely drain it but i didnt do that cause some of my data will be removed after i completely drain my device.
9) charge it up to 100% again but dont use it while charging.
10) after that, enjoy ur battery life

Sudden battery drain when at 10% and below

Recently I noticed sudden battery drain when 10% and below. It takes a couple of minutes while browsing or watching youtube battery goes down to 4% and then in a bout minutes goes down 1% and off. I am not sure when it started but my guess after JB 4.2 update. I am on three UK network.
Thanks

Don't know if it would help but you can try to calibrate the battery (actually the displaying of the percentage).
Charge your battery until it's full when the phone is on.
Disconnect it from charger.
Turn phone off.
Plug in charger and charge it until the LED turns green.
Disconnect charger, turn phone on and use it as usual (my desire needed a full discharging and charging cycle after that)

This exact same thing happened to me earlier today (ARHD 12.1). Very annoying. Is it a rom thing, or a battery calibration deal..?
i cant be sure, but it happened to me one time, so i use and app from playstore to calibrate the battery, and now it is ok,
Mine does the same thing, but it quickly goes from 5% to 1%. I assumed this was a normal feature to prevent the battery from draining completely, which is something you usually don't want to let happen. If that's the case though, HTC should have taken that last 5% into consideration when calibrating the battery.

I suggest you all should try that calibrating method and if that won't work, it's probably a defect of your phones

Has anyone else had any success at all with this
I'm running 4.3 GPE rom and I get excactly the same thing here, I don't think I had this before .... I've tried recalibrating the battery, doesn't make any difference, so frustrating.....
In your case I think it's just a calibration issue. I personally had the same issue with ARHD but it settled with 5-6 charging cycles.

S3 Mini Battery

Hello . This is my first post here. I am having a problem with my battery. i recently bought a new one with 1700mAh,is a compatible one. now the thing is i left my phone to fully charge but is charging only to 89% and stops. my guess is that the phone only see the 1500mAh and the rest of 200 cannot. is there any way to make the phone charge to 100%? Thanks in advance!

i too have a 1700mah battery from the Ace 2 and it works like a normal 1500mah battery would. the first time when i put it in i shut down my phone completely and left it charging for 16 hours (although it did have 50% out of the box). Another thing i learned is that it's better to charge Li-ion batteries when they are below 20%, because they have a limited charge cycle (about 300 charges i think) so when you charge it from 70% to 100% it counts as 1 charge. i used to charge my original battery like that and only lasted 7 months (then my phone restarted randomly, couldn't turn on when actually having more than 70% battery left (the indicator said the battery's dead, but when i pluged it into a charger and turned the phone on it had more than 70% left) !!
so is there any way to make the phone see the 1700mAh?

Does your new battery 3 or 4 contacts? The original batteries have 4 contacts. I think that by the fourth contact phone receives information about the charge, and if the new battery does not have that contact phone does not receive charge Information so it approximates.
what's your 1700mah battery brand and model ?

Try to calibrate it manually. Charge the battery to 100% then with a root explorer go to data/system & delete batterystats.bin file & then unplug the charger.

I think that clearing the batterystats.bin file won't do anything, cause it just stores the info which is shown in the battery usage window in settings. And every time you charge your phone it generates a new batterystats.bin file. Not sure though
