At some point i had my kindle fire rooted with a jelly bean rom, with twrp recovery installed. I wanted to get rid of my fire, so i decided it was time to go back to the stock rom. In my infinite wisdom, I ended up wiping my factory backup by mistake. I went onto the kindle update site and downloaded the latest official version 6.3 bin file. I then renamed the .bin to .zip and updated it through twrp. When my kindle restarted, the factory OS came up, except I started getting android.acore errors along with another calendar process error. If that wasn't bad enough, it now randomly reboots whenever it feels like it. Luckily I can still usb mount it to my pc and can copy files back and forth. I tried using the kindle fire utility to root it again and install twrp, but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Pretty sure you're in the wrong forum - this is for the KF HD, not the original Fire.

oops, my bad. Thanks for the heads up.

I have rooted my Kindle Fire HD 7" and wanted to do a factory reset. My kindle was cluttered and I was hoping to start fresh with a reset. I was in the middle of trying to install some google apps, and became stuck when ES file explorer stopped allowing me to paste certain files into system/app. I abandoned the project temporarily, and was going to resume after the reset. After that, every time I booted the kindle on I got error messages.
I assumed once I did a reset those messages would go away, but every time I start to register my kindle I get a message saying "(such and such) has stopped." and I get sent back to the "Welcome" screen. I have tried several times, including quite a few reboots, but to no avail.
Any ideas on how to get past this? Or maybe a way to completely reset everything on the kindle (including system files)? Thanks in advance!
What about...
Will re-downloading the kindle firmware reset the system/app files,so that the current error messages don't show up? If so, is there a way to download firmware without having to use the kindle itself, just from the computer while the kindle is connected through USB?
Edit: I'm going to try and use a factory cable and the "System.img Restore Tool" to see if that fixes the problem, I'll post back later...
So i'm very new to root and i'm kicking myself for doing what I did and i'm really hoping someone can help me out. So long story short in titanium backup I turned all my launchers even the default one into user applications, and now its stuck in an endless boot. And please be noob friendly as possible I almost know nothing about android and barley successfully rooted in the first place. Thanks
(Kindle Fire HD 2012 Model)
Did you install twrp or cwm yet? (Recovery) if not you will probably need a fast boot cable and then reinstall the ROM. Very different routes.

Boot Loop
Hello...Just rooted my KF HD and am now stuck in a boot loop. I was able to obtain root and boot into recovery. I was taking a back up before installing a Jelly Bean ROM. When I tried to take the back up, said there was not enough memory, so I did a backup without data. I did a full wipe, cache and davlik cache and when I tried to install the ROM zip file, got a message it could not open the zip. So, I restored from my back up and now all I get is the regular Kindle FIre logo over and over. I tried to connect via adb, but it does not stay on long enough for me to send any commands, my PC does not recognize it. Any help or suggestions? Just wanted to put a good stable ROM on it so the kids can have sometime more reliable than what Amazon provided. Any help is appreciated.
BTW...if I remember correctly, my serial number started with D025. Thanks.
Hi! I just recently picked up the kindle fire from a store for 34$, I had the immediate thought in my head to boot it with marshmallow or lollipop.
Now I'm currently stuck on the cyanogen boot animation.
I'm currently using the 5th gen and I loaded TWRP and Fastboot onto it, after that I went to go put cm-12.1-20151122-ford onto it along with Gapps (open_gapps_-arm-5.1-stock-20151127) and SuperSU-v2.46 I ran into an issue with gapps and deleted some storage on the internal storage, it fixed the problem I was having. I got an error code with cm install and accidentally pressed "reboot" when I meant to go back and load a backup.
Here are the steps I went through I can't seem to access TWRP anymore because it's not recognizing the Kindle, any help would be greatly appreciated.
So i wanted to install CyanogenMod on my kindle fire 2, because the os amazon provides is horrible. Before i could install any roms, i had to root and install a custom recovery. I found a one-click way to do it here, and it must have failed, but the device was still on, so i manually restarted it. When it booted up, it briefly showed the kindle bootlogo, then switched to a solid red/orange full screen. I would really like help fixing this. Please help. (BTW, i do have root access.)

the TweezerMod forum says that it's only useful for the older bootloader. Go ahead and download and flash the bootloader file from Hash's thread here as directed. You really should get a factory cable if you don't already have one, as you'll need one to get into fastboot to flash the bootloader. After this, reboot and try to get into TWRP. If it works, TweezerMod mostly worked. If not, you'll need to do the entire flashing process manually.

Recently I was having problems with the rom on my kindle so I decided I wanted to restore a previous backup I had made before installing the rom. I rebooted into twrp and then without really thinking I clicked restore thinking it meant restore my backup. After I did that I tried to boot back into my os but it said no os installed. I've tried to plug it into my computer but my computer won't let me access my kindle's files. I've looked at lots of youtube videos and other threads but I can't find out how to fix it. Please help because I really want to be back on my kindle fire again.
