A few people wanted to see the video of how to do that mod I decided to capture my experience. It took about 40 min total, but I edited out some parts that were not important or was just me looking for tools and trying different things. For example it took me some time and effort to remove the original battery and I found that using a plastic card like credit card to pry it of is the best way to do it.
I've been using the information from xda for awhile so it's my time to give something back I hope it helps someone on this forum.
There is no sound on purpose. ( I hate when I look at someones video and hear their stupid comments or weird sounds while they doing something I think it's self explanatory, but if you have questions please ask and I'll try to post comments in the video.
Here it is. Don't be to harsh on me, it was my first attempt
I also suggest to read this thread which was an inspiration for my endeavor:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906371
Good luck.
Oh hell no, doing it without cutting the plastic is just plain butchering.
Just because its *possible* to fold the battery like clay, doesnt mean you *should* do it, damn!

Well it's a bit unclear, but I made about eights of an inch cut in plastic on both sides of the battery which allows it to bend up and provides the room for the battery without cutting out plastic completely
See video at 12:25
Or you could just take the phone apart and place the battery under the plastic.......

So besides its look, what does every expect from its lifetime.
I bought a second hand note about 6 months old and the new batterys from ebay were just as good if not better than the original hence im thinking a 6500ma battery would see possible 2 full days of heavy use? perhaps 4 of light use.. I hope they bring out the 12000ma extended battery

I think you are all missing the point of this battery.
I was in Thailand with the arduos task of taking 3000 photos on my note. My small batterys didnt last that long and was also hard to grip. The big phone with big battery was far superior. Obviously it destroys the look but for usability it is amazing.
Can we keep comments to the use of thos battery, not the look it will give the phone.. Ovbviously its not a fashion accesory **** guys
I can see its usefulness, that's for sure. I just think the company could have worked on the execution a bit better. But no doubt, if you need a long life battery, it should do the trick.

Cheap no brand batteries are NEVER as good as the quality OEM products. I'll reserve judgement on this thing until someone's reported on its actual performance.
That is a good find.
I'll definitely buy one before taking a trip/vacation.
It'll be a very handy if not a life saver.

I literally LOL'ed, FWIW.
Right, I may or may not be alone in this but the rattle from my power button was really starting to p**s me off. I could hear it clearly when the phone was at arms length and I tapped the screen anywhere in the top half. I thought it was the camera at first, then found holding the power button still whilst using the phone stopped it. This morning I was using my phone and decided to do something about it.
First can I say this was not any normal rattle (i.e camera lens), you could clearly hear it at arms length whilst tapping the screen in the top half. I made this video because people have told me they have the same issue. If you take your phone apart and break it, that's not my fault.
For those that have this problem and decide to do this, I hope it helps It has made me a hell of a lot happier with the phone.

Ah, forgot to mentiom, this is my 2nd one. Bought my first one and heard the rattle, took it back after 2 hours. The replacement does the same thing and looking on here in the defects thread it seems a few people have the problem. There's no sort of warranty seal inside the phone and the stuff can easily be taken out again should it die for some reason and I need to get a new one under warranty.

Some people analyse small insignificant things too much, surely it couldn't have made an audible noise level outside of a sound proof box.
Did the sales person look at you bemused or did he test the rattle and end up deafened by it?

He agreed that he could hear the rattle. It may not have seemed that important to him in a loud and busy shop, but when you're sat on your sofa in the evening and even the slightest of taps near the top of the screen make it rattle it doesn't take long before it becomes very annoying. If it were just when I shook the phone near my ear or something then I would have just accepted it, but it's the fact it is hard to ignore, even at arms length, made me want to do something about it.

Hello there.
Just got my N4 yesterday. Started off loving it. Customized it fully. Got everything on it the way I like it. Then started playing with it. Love the new Spen features.
Now the bad. I have had to shut it off, and pull battery multiple times because of overheating, I do not ever, ever have screen brightness on full.
Now on to the camera. This is by far the worst camera I have came across on a device. My N2 was way better. Has anyone had trouble returning their device?

Use this thread to share vendors that have either sold you good batteries or bad ones. I have completed a battery swap in my N6 and the process is really rather easy assuming you have all the correct tools. The process from start to new battery installation can be found here:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+6+Battery+Replacement/35878
One thing to add that is not listed in the guide is to make sure to preshape the battery to match that of the factory installed battery. If this is not done, it could impact functionality of the phone such as camera not working and also the flash. The battery is rather soft and is easy to manipulate into the correct curvature.
The battery that I have installed is a Motorola battery that was sold by the following eBay vendor:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/232047178752
I have only tested this battery for a full day and 2 charge cycles. I will update this post if the battery doesn't end up working out.

No issues at all. Installed it last Friday and it charges all the way up and seems to last better than the original ever did (I bought the phone used a year ago).
Alright I purchased it. Hopefully I get the same results
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Actually I did have an issue with my camera not working after initially installing it but now I'm sure that it was caused by the actual installation then the battery.
If you do change your your battery make sure you take note of exactly how it's mounted. The new battery comes flat but the battery sits in the phone with a bit of curvature to it. My problem resolved itself, assuming the battery settled into place and allowed the camera module to contact the board properly.
Well I wish you had said that earlier. ? Guess I will have to take my time and be thorough. Besides the basic plastic pry tools and mini torx, what else do I need? Is there any adhesion materials that need to be replaced?

Like I said, I think it was my lack of attention to details that caused my issue. I had a bought a new back cover a few weeks ago that came with new adhesive already on it, but you can buy just the adhesive. Here is a link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141334618840
Though at the price you will pay for just the adhesive, a couple $ more will get you a brand new back cover. Just do some searching and you may find it cheaper, I just shared one of the first results.
I'll be following this breakdown in case anybody else is looking into it. I'll report if it's accurate after I complete the swap.

I haven't had any problems yet. I'm glad I read this thread and sort of prebent the battery. I didn't have an issue with the camera or flash not working. I did strip 4 screws, but they came out with a t4 bit. I reused my blue back, even though I switched my frame for the silver one. I reheated it back up and I've been running without a case for 24 hours and it hasn't come off yet.
