Hi,
got some real uncool problems with my RAZR i and wanted to know if anyone is also experiencing this kind of things.
First there ist the WLAN:
Not always, but most times, my WLAN connection stops working. It still shows that there ist signal and the logo is blue, but i can't down or upload anything or veeeeeeeery slow (1 - 5 KB/s). This happens when i try to download something bigger (apps for example) I always have to reconnect the WLAN. Speedtest.net shows the same thing, first test works queit well but the next tests simply show a connection error or have a ping about 5000ms. In comparison to my old Milestone 2 the Razr I is just awefull at this.
Second thing is about the signal of my cellular network. I live in germany and my provider is Vodafone, a very good network here. But sometimes i unlock my phone and there is no signal at all. After a couple seconds it returns and shows a full signal.
Am I the only one who git this kind of bugs? If it is so, maybe I should try to get a new one. Otherwise I'm going to stay with my Milestone 2 for a bit longer and send the Razr back.
I did suffer the same WLAN problems. By the way, i'm german too.
I reconfigured my Fritz!Box 7270 to 802.11 b+g only (no more n) and a bit later i changed the WiFi-Frequencies to 2.4ghz only on the razr i [you'll find it at WLAN -> three dots -> advanced(?)], didn't have any problems since. I live in Berlin, with the worst network eplus i never had these connectivity problems you suffer. Signal is a bit stronger than on my old JellyTime Desire HD, laying them side by side, the DHD has -95dBm while the razr i is around 89dBm.
Please tell me if the WiFi mode change ends your problem.
Hello,
I had the same problem with WLAN. So I tried this solution and is working so far.
I have a TP-link router and I configured it to miss the "n" .
My RAZR I set to 2.4Ghz too

I'm having wifi issues.. When I use my office wireless and then come home and use my wifi... it shows I'm connected but there is no data is being sent or received. I'll restart the wifi, phone and router - nothing works?
At the office, I have a 4 year old Netgear Wireless-G router (works on B and G).... At home, I have a 1yr old Apple Air Extreme dual band router that works on B, G and N. Nothing else has any issues. I take a laptop several days a week and it connects fine to both the office and home wifi.
It has gotten so bad that I sometimes have to restore from a Nandroid or reflash my ROM just to connect at home.
It's not a ROM issue, I've had this problem on 5 different ROMs (3 Sense and 2 GPE). It's not a firmware issue, I flashed every firmware known to the HTC One in the past 2 months. It's not a Radio issue, I've flashed every radio available too and still have the issue.
Today, on my HTC, I went in to the advanced wireless settings and tried several things and then unchecked every box that was checked and re-checked them and kept restarting the phones wifi each time. It finally started working, but now I'm not sure what step got it working?
It'll probably be fine for a few days, then I'll loose it at home again.... But it's always fine at work?
Any thoughts? Is this Apples way of saying "You should have an iPhone"?
I am seeing approximately same issue over here: while I am mostly using mobile data at work, at home am on my 3rd router in as many years, just replaced an old linksys wrt600n for a netgear r6100. I would occasionally experience your problem, usually on the 5ghz network, would switch to 2.4 and then back to 5. that works all the time. there are so many variables with wi-fi connectivity, it is really difficult to investigate and diagnose. I cannot tell for sure but I think the issue is on our HTC One device side as my old ipad never dropped the 5ghz connection. I, too, tried all radio firmwares to date with same outcome.
one advice that seems to help here, under advanced wifi settings, disable the battery optimization check.

I did have the Wi-fi optimization checked.... It is now unchecked.
Thanks for the advice!
Hi Everyone
I looked and I could not find info on this issue. I have just used WiFi at home in the past with the Note 3 and it was fine. Here is some history of the changes:
- Old home WiFi was single band wireless N (53mbps) with a second repeater hot spot. This worked well with the Note 3.
- Had issues with the router so I upgraded to a dual band ac router and removed the second hot spot. So now it is just the new router for the whole house.
- Issues now - receive 2 bars at the far end of the house and basic WiFi is OK. Watching You Tube is an issue and it loads, plays for a few seconds, loads more etc.
I don't see a way to tell if I am on ac or wireless N. I was going to try to switch to wireless N and see if that helped but I can't see a way to do this? This router is way faster than my old one so I thought speed would not be an issue. no one else is using the wireless in the house. I would think that 2 bars would be strong enough? I think that wireless N would have a better range so that is why I wanted to try that. I am assuming that I am connecting to ac. Any thoughts?
thx in advance
AC routers have two separate ssid's. One for b,g,n. And another for 5G band. The 5G band default ssid is the same as the other with "5G" at the end. 5G band doesn't have good range, but it has faster speed between connected devices. 5G won't have faster internet unless you have a 100mb download speed. Which is unlikely. So your YouTube issue is either your modem, or a Qos setting in the router. If your router is at default settings it's definitely your modem.
You might be able to get more support on this subject thru a forum for your router, or modem.

why not use your old router from your old home as a repeater? wouldn't that work?

That's called buffering and it's due to low thruput (which is different than speed). It can be caused by low signal strength (due to distance or to the signal haveing to go through too much along the path), noise between the router and the phone, interference with someone else's wifi signal ...
You need at least a couple of apps like Signal Check Lite and Wifi Analytics to see what's going on. Guessing isn't going to give you a solution.
Hello all,
am I the only one who experiences wlan trouble after the upgrade to 4.3?
The symptoms are :
It often can't see my home network at all, in fact it sees just one neighboring network (using WEP) at all where there should be about 8. Only a reboot helps in this situation (neither disabling/enabling WLAN nor switching in and out of flight mode does any good).
It often looses an existing connection with my home network. This is really bad, because in one instance it caused me to download a 100MB app update over my cellular connection. This really hurt.
The Hotspot is unreliable. When I try to connect to the phones Hotspot from my LG G pad 8.3, the connection often initially fails. Once again, the only cure seems to be a reboot of the phone (sometimes more than one reboot is required for reliable operation).
This is so frustrating that I consider to go back to 4.1 if there is no fix.
Any ideas?
That's odd... I don't have issues like that. Try to reflash the Rom using flashtool or repair your phone via pcc. Good luck!
I also have problem with lower signal. Not a tragic situation, but the signal is almost two lines lower than OmniRom.
I flashed italian release of 4.3 stock using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50363622#post50363622
Same issue here with previous firmware though...
I was hoping upgrade would fix it (don't have it yet with SFR).
I have been reading the exact opposit in another post.
Wait n see...
I've noticed two things with WIFI and the official 4.3:
1) Being close to the router (about 2 meters, no walls) when in the living room) the WIFI indicator shows a weaker signal than it did with 4.1
And: the router shows my phone to connects with 150MBit via WIFI while it maxed out at 54MBit with 4.1
2) When in my office (about 11 meters from the router, 2 reinforced concrete floors and a few walls between phone and router) the WIFI indicator shows a way stronger signal than it did with 4.1
There's no change in connection speed but according to the router the phone signal is way stronger than with 4.1 (40 to 60% increase)
I haven't really looked into it, just skimmed the surface of this issue, since I noticed I don't get disconnected on VOIP calls anymore since the update when in my office
I think I found the trigger for my WLAN woes: it's Bluetooth! The LG g pad 8.3 comes with a companion app for Android phones. It allows the acceptance of calls on the tablet, among other things. If I have Bluetooth activated on my T and the App is running, wifi on the Xperia T is almost unusable, if I disable Bluetooth, everything seems fine so far.

I always have bluetooth turned off and I still got the wifi signal problem.

Issue: While connected to my EA6900 (1900 AC) linksys wireless modem my data dies. If I turn off wifi, I am able to call out, (although patchy), get texts, and use android services. As soon as I turn on wifi, these services all seem to shut down. Although sometimes some data is able to eak through.
Background: I am using a Moto x (2014) Pure Edition on the AT&T Network. I have confirmed time and time again that wireless works on my network, I have a full wifi signal and decent LTE signal (unsure how strong -- it shows 2-3 bars). I had this problem initially in 4.4.4 and it persists in 5.0 (I updated to see if that would fix the issue. Previously I had and HTC One with no issues what so ever. Reboots do not fix this issue and ATT has told me it is not their problem.
Hypothesis: I think the Moto X 2014 has problem connecting on the 5ghz (duel band) or AC networks. I have noticed while at work or other locations, I have had no connectivity issues with wifi on. I am pretty sure they are using standard 2.4ghz G and or N connections. I believe that the phone is unable to switch between the range of bands and causes it to lose data connectivity.
Has anyone had this issue or can anyone correct it?
I don't have an ac or 5ghz router so I can't test this. Have you played with the WiFi frequency band under advanced WiFi? You can force connect to 5ghz or 2.4ghz.
You could also turn off ac on the router configuration page to see if you can connect on n.
When I have time I will play around on my network to try and force the connection to different protocols. I have an AC router from EnGenius it's their ESR1200 which is a consumer grade device but pretty nice over all and was a steal at $60 over on Amazon:
http://www.engeniustech.com/home-networking/routers/16742-esr1200
But will try a few options. Right now I have it connected to the 5ghz band w/o issue. I can add I have long encountered issues for Android when moving between wifi networks. It has always been prone to struggling to juggle connections, even when switching nodes on a mono-SSID network. I can trace my issues back to Jelly Bean. But it seems like you are seeing something different.
If I find anything I'll post it soon as time permits, busy week for me at work or I might get lucky and just die in my sleep.
EDIT: For giggles I forced a connection to the 5ghz side and sent some texts as well as a couple calls w/o issue. Was able to receive as well. Mode is .11n of course and a solid 433mbps network connection speed
This is where my hypothesis really dies... I have attempted forcing 2.4 or 5ghz but both failed. The other option is the phone doesnt play nice with the EA6900... which is seemingly supported by the fact that my phone hasnt had any issues while i am connected to my parents house for thankgsiving. They are running 2.4ghz at a blazing 65mbps (i usually average around 400 at my house on my ea6900). Could it be the AC modem? One other thought is chromecast is somehow interfering with my phone. I will need to try removing chromecast when i get home to see if that works, but at this point, i would find it hard to imagine.
This is literally driving me up a wall.
EDIT: So I am at home at it has been running better but just now it has decided to seize up. Showing same info... 2.4ghz 65mpbs same network... full bars.... att shows 3/5 bars but doesnt say LTE or H or anything..just ATT (pretty sure thats normal)

There are a bunch of comments about it overheating and dropping signal repeatedly. I would think about returning it under warranty.

I wanted to blame my router very badly... however i have never experienced any drops on my laptop -- unless my laptop somehow deals with drops better than my phone...
Hi
I received my 3T yesterday. I am having issues with WIFI
WiFi network drops frequently and the mobile data is used for some time and then WIFI is connected again. See attached .. This happens even when moving between rooms of my house
I think this happens when the mobile wifi changes from 5GHZ to 2.4GHZ when I move away from router
I have updated to OxygenOS 3.5.4 as soon as I received the mobile
The signal strength of the 3T is also very low
I have a 2 year old moto X 2014 and the moto beats the 3T at every place in my house
The signal strength and the wifi speed both are better in moto X
I have checked at various places
I have wiped the cache. Tried changing 2.5GHz to 5GHz
Changed Channels.. Tried all the things that I could find on the internet
But still problems
So is this a hardware problem and should I ask for a replacement? Or is this some Software bug which can be resolved
My router is ASUS RTN66U and a lot of other devices work seamlessly on that router and hence pls dont suggest to change the router
Awaiting replies
Regards
Ajjaykummar
I think this is a bug related to 3.5.4. On 3.5.3 my WiFi worked a lot better, but LTE Advanced is faster on 3.5.4. You can try a custom rom or downgrading, there's also a leaked OxygenOS 4 rom out.
Do you have wifi issues now when u have 3.5.4
I don't want to install new Roms. As I may have to return it in case this is a faulty piece
I'm having the exact same problem. I stream a lot. Very annoying when music video or gaming gets disconnect so often. My Galaxy Note 4, & s6 works fine.

yes, it started on 3.5.4.
here is a screencap of the issue
You can see in the screen cap that the mobile is connected to ASUS5 (5GHZ)
Then as I move away from the router the signal weakens and then the wifi disconnects .. and then it connects to ASUS (2.4GHZ)
Earlier it was connecting to ASUS but with a exclamation mark (without internet).. I waited for 15 minutes but it did not connect
Then I would connect if I switch off and on the wifi toggle
After that I did a factory reset and now you can see the screencap
It connects after a minor delay.. So is this alright
My other mobile - Moto X 2014 simply switches instantly from 5GHz to 2.4GHz and vice versa.. not even half of second is taken on moto x
Give the device a static IP use 2.4 network as it's more of a long range band. I tend to use the 5 band for stationary stuff. My WiFi works fine but all my home devices have a static IP.
This are the things that I did
1) Factory reset
2)Use Legacy DHCP client (under Developer options)
3)Disable Smart Wifi switcher (Advanced Wifi setting)
4)Static IP
This seems to solve the disconnection issue .. I still feel the wifi signal is weak compared to my other devices
Hope this helps someone facing the problem
regards
I had the same Problem on OOS 3.5.3/3.5.4/4.0 at the OnePlus 3T.
I tried every Solution on the internet and nothing worked for me.
But after i looked into my Router-Setup i saw the DHCP Section where i selected 'Renew DHCP every Day'
>>> Screenshot what i mean - imgur.com/KakQX3i.png <<<
After that it works perfect. No connection-issues anymore.
mine is already one day..
I thought it was resolved... but again I noticed slow wifi speeds
thinking of replacement
haven't had the phone long enough to experience disconnects but wifi is definitely slow...
I have a 200mbps connection, getting 160mbps on desktop with LAN cable, 110mbps on my OPO, only 50mbps on my OP3T....
all tested through speedtest with the same server location.
OP3T is chinese version flashed with oxygenos 4.0.1
edit: later tested again with OP3T getting up to 90mbps but still 20 less than the OPO
I have same issus like lajay. The Galaxy S7 from my wife works perfekt in the same Network!
