Thanks for the kick start help brother. Get well sooon ...

Go and read Entropy's sticky on the galaxy note general page. It has up to date news. It seems. Kernel's that were thought safe are not. He says there are only a couple that are 100%.
Don't do any wipes with cwm to be safe. See what he says and use a kernel he recommends. Putting it right involves pit files and is very technical. There is a post in the note general section on this. Read that and pm the guy if you think you are up to going that way . Me I'd just read Entropy's sticky ,make it safe and buy a big SD card and use an app to link it to the built in SD.
I'm going to read what he says in detail my self.
I should not be using this in hospital, I've been told to stop
Good luck

Nope its the way brick revived note is. my be get a bigger sd card

ahhhh thanks bro will get a bigger sd card..

no probs... motherboard replacement is the only way

I have the same situation. Only 8gig of memory. I don't know much about rooting. If i unroot, will it come back to 16gb?

No, the damage is done, you'll never get back original space without mobo replacement.

I sure hope not one of us here is responsible for reselling such revived phones without labelling it as such...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Xparent ICS Tapatalk 2

I bought that phone used. And i discovered couple days after that it was like that. I contacted Samsung but they do not take care of phone that is not Canadian model. They are all the same, Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, and so on. Products are mostly made in China, sold around the world but no service for them.
Thanks for the info guys....

Unfortunately theres no solution to get the memory back, You could either ask the seller for a refund as it is not as described (unless he originally stated it had been bricked?)
Or make do and get bigger sd card (as said above)
Theres also a way of swapping internal memory for external, So for example: your 32gb sd card will become internal memory, For ROM and Apps etc and the current 8gb internal will become your external, for music, movies, pics ect.
A quick search will churn up a few results. Its not a easy task but it can be done, But if the space doesnt bother you then just make do with it untill you switch devices.

can i dual boot?

can i dual boot 2 roms?
Yes and no. The closest thing to it is through an app called bootmanager that installs roms on your SD card which doesn't take long to switch between roms. But you can't truly dual boot off the phones internal storage.

Our device is not supported.
It won't help with trying to get the KU900 V30 to work on our P970 as it doesn't boot. I am not sure how they do this from what I can tell they boot much later by mounting their file image then booting from that. The problem we are facing happens before that, but it does look interesting.
EDIT: Those sizes you are looking for can very easily be found using any terminal emulator or adb shell.

To what extent does can it "emulate" the alternate ROM booting. Can we alter bootargs that are passed to kernel by u-boot. Their website actually tells me very little about how it is actually done.

Just the kernel won't help. We need to alter stuff before the kernel gets initialized and if we make a mistake then we might lose the ability to go into SW Update mode and we can't risk that.
We can easily re-flash kernels as is so that's not the problem.

For 1 and 2, do as Rulinglionadi suggested
for 3 Just delete the S98MassStorage found in /system/etc/init.d/ reboot
(copy to sdcard if you want to use it later )
you can find all you need in RR thread, you didn't have to create a new thread

A1 seems the apps are on your SD move them to phone sometimes too many apps make the system mess up I had it too.
A2 WIfi and 3G suck battery in every rom especially if it includes a boost tweak for networks.
A3 already discussed look in the Q&A section you need to delete a file and then use the usb switched enable mtp at boot and uninstall app.

[Q] Bricked Ace s5830 can't boot into download mode

Hi there,
Hi all, my galaxy ace s5830 can't boot into download mode at all, the phone was bricked as i flash to s5830i rom. It is totally bricked. Nothing appear, i tried so many ways but it is still the same. I think it is hard bricked. Anyone can suggest a way how to boot into download mode.
Thanks in advance
If you can't boot into download mode, that's probably the end of your ace.
Sorry, mate.

Try this-
Remove Sim card, memory card and battery.
Press home + volume down + power and holding these buttons, ask someone to insert the battery.
That may do it.
Best of luck.

You can't install any ROMs for the S5830i on the "normal" S5830.
I think that this is the reason for the brick.
Good luck!

Hard bricks render the motherboard useless. It doesn't mean that it's physically broken ( just in case you've misunderstood.... ). I dunno the details of how and why It happens. But it is feasible that that op might get a motherboard of some other device for his phone in case if that of ace is outta stock.

[REQ][DEV]More eMMC patch supported ROMs?

* First of all this maybe shouldn't be a new thread, but I want to see how many people have eMMC brick, maybe this is not that important if there is only few of us. (if your phone is eMMC bricked, please reply) *
Anyway, at this moment only Ivendor supports eMMC bricked devices and he provides a patch for us with every new update of his CM10 (very nice guy), I guess it is not that hard to do, I am not a dev, but I suppose it is only few lines of code ("/data is not here, /data is on SD.") .
At this point I can only have one ROM and I would be happy if other devs could spend few more minutes and create eMMC patch for their ROM/s.
Thank you.
Thanks to alireza7991 we have CWM that works for bricked /data devices ( wipes /data w/o errors ). - HERE
Still waiting for more ROMs.

Anyway I am still hoping for more devs like Ivendor and brood (who will provide this patch, as he said), so we can maybe stick to the stock kernel or whatever. This way we are still stuck with one kernel. I hope you get what im trying to say.
Ok I found the device spec patch: https://github.com/ivendor/android_...mmit/422db8790284deb06b0080bd902e372574314ae4
This is for the people who already got a bricked /data.
To prevent it from happening in the first place we need the emmc patch of the kernel source (which is floating lonely through the universe)

I do not promise to do this soon becuase I am on exams and also I I I 'm going to port lk bootloader for our device ...but I hope I do that in near future !
Thanks to alireza7991 we have patched CWM now, with working wipe /data w/o errors (even if /data is on SD).
Good job.
Check this out here.

I've been waiting so long for a reason to root this phone.
Thanks d-fuse! With all the other projects you got going on I was worried this might not get done but you did it! The 1st, hopefully not last and I'm curious if you're making a custom ROM? I'm not sure if anyone has anything out yet but at this point I've put my trust in your expertise.
BTW yall better thank this mofo for putting in the work.
This is why I can't wait til January.
I'm gonna pick up the k20+ just to try the kernel out.

I am currently working on a device tree. I have boot, but a lot of things need to be fixed. Keep in mind with the holidays coming up. I've been working OT at my job for x mas gifts. So, don't be looking for anything until after then.
I got the bootloader unlocked but no root. Couldn't download the file with su. Don't really get what it's for do I'm spending the evening reading the thread more carefully.
BTW that Czar guy from the other thread is about good dude. I don't think he's as knowledgeable as you are but 2 minds always better than 1. I think I saw him offer to assist you but maybe I read that wrong.
Thanks again for the work. I'll get this rooted and if you need testers let me know sir!

Hey D! For no other reason than to fill out this thread (man I figured it be blown up by now) I was wondering..... that mean this doesn't work on the Nov update?
I'm not sure what I'm on anymore. I had the Aug update. The Nov update was bugging the crap outta me to install and it looked good for root so I decided to live on the edge and install it. After root it went to Oct. Now I'm thinking "WTF" lol. I may have used the incorrect no-verity zip. I used the most recent one (6.0) from Nov and appeared to be in line with my current update but I did not read much of the thread and I just saw a video a few months old where they used the 5.3 I think. Just the OP and some crazy ass mofos talking **** lol
Here's my software screen. It looks good to me but I really don't want a brick already lol. Figured no harm to ask.

No particular format, I usually just put it in the phone and roll... It's a 64gb Sandisk ultra. I don't wanna reformat yet but it looks like I may have to... Lol
You sure it's your sd card? There's a corrupt screen that should pop up during every boot but it's not the SD card. I've been searching my azz on how to fix it but I am reading it's normal lol. A screenshot would have saved me a ton of time.

To tell you the truth, I haven't updated stock since I got the phone. Once I get the device tree worked out. I will never use stock again. I just muted the notification for the updates. So IDK man

I could just unroot and roll back the firmware. Lotta work. Am I missing much?
If you aren't gonna update before Christmas I might do that. What you think? I know you said you are really busy so I'm thinking ya.

That should help you get back to stock if brick your device.

I don't know if it's possible but can you add these kernel tweaks to take advantage to the screen https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...dev-kcal-advanced-color-control-t3032080/amp/
