[Q] Bricked Ace s5830 can't boot into download mode - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Hi all, my galaxy ace s5830 can't boot into download mode at all, the phone was bricked as i flash to s5830i rom. It is totally bricked. Nothing appear, i tried so many ways but it is still the same. I think it is hard bricked. Anyone can suggest a way how to boot into download mode.
Thanks in advance

If you can't boot into download mode, that's probably the end of your ace.
Sorry, mate.

Try this-
Remove Sim card, memory card and battery.
Press home + volume down + power and holding these buttons, ask someone to insert the battery.
That may do it.
Best of luck.

You can't install any ROMs for the S5830i on the "normal" S5830.
I think that this is the reason for the brick.
Good luck!

According to everything I found on the internet, they do it that way, too.
So building or buying a USB Jig would would be cheaper.

No more warranty, so i think it will be costly for me to repair it at samsung store. By the way, no harm trying before sending it to samsung store.

Give the results on how the USBjig worked Anticipated!!!!

The usb jig doesn't work on my galaxy ace... i send it to repair shop, they told me motherboard broken, so better throw it n buy a new one. Cost of repair will be enuf for us to buy a second hand galaxy ace.

Motherboard broken? Really?
I can't believe that. Why should flashing a ROM for a different phone model break the device?

Hard bricks render the motherboard useless. It doesn't mean that it's physically broken ( just in case you've misunderstood.... ). I dunno the details of how and why It happens. But it is feasible that that op might get a motherboard of some other device for his phone in case if that of ace is outta stock.

Not booting Please help

hELL0 , i was in stock rom , i got a update notification of 18 mb , i downloaded it and when prompted started the update , it finished but it was not booting a screen with a mobile and a triangle with a down arrow was there , the i removed battery , but after that the phone is not booting either in bootloader or anywhere :crying:
It doesnt even vibrate , black screen ,i think emmc chip is fried . if yes please help me
please help me
What happens if you connect it to a pc? Does it recognise it? .....seen as you can't get into recovery etc.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Nope it doesn't recognize , Its showing no response , doesnt vibrate DOES nothing , Please if it is repairable :crying:
if you've taken the battery out while it was doing something important like writing system files, there is a slight chance you could have bricked it
If you can't do anything, you can always take it back to HTC
So whatever you do, there is not response?

HTC gave in a lot of country´s 24 months warranty, not in yours? And if it's not under warranty, you could still call HTC to repair, yes you have to pay, but I don't think you could repair a totally bricked phone.

Thanks for the kick start help brother. Get well sooon ...
Go and read Entropy's sticky on the galaxy note general page. It has up to date news. It seems. Kernel's that were thought safe are not. He says there are only a couple that are 100%.
Don't do any wipes with cwm to be safe. See what he says and use a kernel he recommends. Putting it right involves pit files and is very technical. There is a post in the note general section on this. Read that and pm the guy if you think you are up to going that way . Me I'd just read Entropy's sticky ,make it safe and buy a big SD card and use an app to link it to the built in SD.
I'm going to read what he says in detail my self.
I should not be using this in hospital, I've been told to stop
Good luck

ahhhh thanks bro will get a bigger sd card..
no probs... motherboard replacement is the only way
I have the same situation. Only 8gig of memory. I don't know much about rooting. If i unroot, will it come back to 16gb?
No, the damage is done, you'll never get back original space without mobo replacement.

I sure hope not one of us here is responsible for reselling such revived phones without labelling it as such...

I bought that phone used. And i discovered couple days after that it was like that. I contacted Samsung but they do not take care of phone that is not Canadian model. They are all the same, Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, and so on. Products are mostly made in China, sold around the world but no service for them.
Thanks for the info guys....
Unfortunately theres no solution to get the memory back, You could either ask the seller for a refund as it is not as described (unless he originally stated it had been bricked?)
Or make do and get bigger sd card (as said above)
Theres also a way of swapping internal memory for external, So for example: your 32gb sd card will become internal memory, For ROM and Apps etc and the current 8gb internal will become your external, for music, movies, pics ect.
A quick search will churn up a few results. Its not a easy task but it can be done, But if the space doesnt bother you then just make do with it untill you switch devices.

Im getting desperate, PLEASE HELP!
ok, so yesterday i got a new SGS3 Mini I8190 with android version 4.1.1, i wanted to pass the apps that i downloaded to the SD card. so i saw that i had to root the phone bla bla bla. i try rooting it with odin following a website's tutorial on how to.
i get it into download mode and start followonf that tutorial. in a few seconds, the first square at odin says ''failed'' and my phone has almost 3/4 of the blue bar filled, and i cant do that. later i try turning it on and it has a phone, some dots, a yellow triangle with an exclamation sign, some more dots, and a computer.
then i dont know why, i just cant turn it on, i connect it and then theres only an icon that i think it means it charging but its fully charged!! its like a star that should spin but doesnt.
