My phone is detected in adb but not in fastboot.
When i reboot into fastboot, plug the phone in and type "fastboot devices" (after typing "fastboot") nothing happens, it doesnt say "list of devices" all.
I'm pretty sure i have all the drivers install.
The bootloader is also unlocked and i'm running cm7.
Need to get fastboot to work to install blackrose.
How do i get it to work?
make sure you are in fastboot mode and not in bootloader mode...

r u typing the commands from the correct directory which contains fastboot.exe?
if yes. then try reinstalling the fastboot drivers

Hey so I currently have an unlocked bootloader and I try to flash a custom recovery via fastboot yet it hangs on < waiting for device > every time.
I have followed the cyanogen mod wiki step by step. It hangs on clockwork and amon RA. USB debugging is enabled. When I boot into recovery it says fastboot I then connect it to my computer it says fastboot USB.
I'm sure it will be some little setting that's wrong. I am currently running 2.3.4 stock, no root so rom manager is a no go.
I guess what I'm asking is does anyone know what I can do to flash a custom recovery?
Have you tried "fastboot devices" to make sure you have a connection?
What kind of computer are you using (Win/Mac/Linux)?
Fastboot devices gives an empty line the a new terminal line.
Also I'm running win 7.
My initial suggestion would be to update your drivers for fastboot. I have had this happen a couple times and a driver update resolved it for me.

That means your phone is not connected. Update the drivers, as suggested above...

I have a rooted nexus one running cm7.2 and it won't boot to boot loader or recovery or rom o

Do you have ADB and fastboot software installed in your PC? Either have that or download Android SDK. You can boot your phone via ADB command lines.

Can you reach the boot menu by pressing the volume down key while powering on?
Otherwise, try to check if fastboot is able to see your device and flash some new boot and system image
You have a Nexus One, not sure why you're using the Nexus 7 Toolkit..

Thanks for answer
Are drivers installed? And have you installed adb and fastboot correctly?

Yes, installed correct. it show up in the Device Manager list.
Anyway, i go to try this driver. Thanks. Let me know u
hmm. unlucky. Still nothing. Windows take a signal when connecting phone shows on fastboot menu => fastboot usb and adb mode say error device not found:crying:
i scanned my drivers using driver genius v11, i saw android driver named Samsung_Android_4.0_usbdrivers. now i think its something wrong with my boot.img?
When you see fastboot usb, and you type fastboot devices in a terminal, what does it say? ADB only works in recovery or when your ROM is booted, so just focus on fastboot.
it say when N1 is fastboot usb mode "error device not found". thanks for advance. tomorrow i'll be ask more.

Hey guys. Finally my N1 detected in adb mode. Im used Nexus 7 toolkit, downloaded N1 official Rom (i used only boot.img from zip file)
1st ive installed toolkit, then flashed boot.img (from official rom) to /system/ folder. Finally Windows device manager say detected new device and downloading drivers.
Started cmd.exe typed adb shell => adb mode showed HT9**********. Now problem is wont boot. What i do now? :silly:
i hope u can enter fastboot usb mode. if so try flashing any recovery.img

so i don't have an os on my htc one im trying to sideload some stuff but adb doesn't recognize it but fastboot does
I'm assuming your trying to sideload in recovery because adb doesn't work in the boot loader. What version recovery?

Little help Please guys, i have been trying to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP on my G watch R all day now, the problem is adb recognises my watch is plugged in and i can execut "adb reboot bootloader" however once the watch is in fastboot mode it no longer shows up as a connected device in adb, as a result when i try to execute "fastboot oem unlock"
the command window just hangs on "waiting for device" and never does anything.
i have tried updating all of my drivers and restarting pc, watch etc but i am getting nowhere.
debugging is enabled and i am running stock android 5.1.1
any help is appreciated.
thanks
I think you need to install the drivers while the device is in the boot loader, but I'm not sure
There aren't separate drivers for boot loader mode are there ?

Sorted it, not sure why but the version of fastboot I was using didn't work with the watch, used the minimal adb and fastboot of here and jt worked straight away

Hello everyone,
as title says, im stuck on booting HTC Desire C device. HTC logo on white background with "this build is for development purposes only...", cycling over and over. Mistake i made is when i was using 'All-In-One-Kit-v2.0' i forgot to install CMW, flashed "boot900.img" wich is overclocking kernel, flashed it, powered off the device, turned it back on and got stuck there. Im struggling whole morning to get this done... searched whole google about this, tried to flash "recovery.img", flashing new ROMs, unfortunately, nothing has been done. Hopefully you could help me and i would really appreciate that. Im newbie here, my english is not that good soo..
Turn it off, press volume down key, and hold it with power until you get to fastboot. Then connect it to your PC, and flash a Cwm, and then lower frequency kernel...

If you could explain to me how to flash cwm while im in fastboot, it would be really awesome... Btw "thanks" button is hit!
There are plenty of similar topics here so read around for details, but the command itself is fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Recovery.img should be your cwm ...

Well I think i got everything set up... but i ran into a problem last night. It happens i cant find my device attached under "adb devices". I have installed drives needed, installed adb and fastboot on pc, nothing seems to work with me... Its driving me crazy..
You can't find it because adb works only if it is booted. Try typing fastboot devices

Yes. Or you could type the whole path to fastboot file... I think that it's easier to put it in program Files...

Yep, it is in the same folder as adb and fastboot and im getting this message after "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img": "Error: cannot load 'recovery.img'"
Well now I really don't know. Try fastboot boot recovery.img as a temporary solution... That should just boot that recovery, without installing it to partition.
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
Hmmm... it says for recovery.img no such file or directory even tho it is in c:\adb
Sent from my GT-I9082 using Tapatalk
I just tried "fastboot flash recovery C:\adb\recovery.img"
And i got this:
"sending 'recovery' (4888KB)...
FAILED (command write failed (Invaild argument))
Finished. Total time: 0.031s"
Im really trying to solve this out, it is bugging me whole day...
EDIT: I tried different cables, different usb ports, placing recovery.img into different folders and fastbooting from there. Nothing seems to help...

Bump... anyone? Please?
Do you have a sync manager program installed? If so, uninstall it (it should leave the drivers installed) and try again, the sync manager identifies your handset and takes control so flashing gets interfered with
What version of Windows? (I've not read whole thread) Win7 upwards has driver install problems so search the forums/threads
Only use on USB 2.0 ....3.0 is a higher speed than our handsets are capable of
