Excellent post! I would like Xperia series sounds too.

Why post those old evo files?
Good post though. I'm sure someone will want them.

Good job. Thanks. But I need to convert from ogg to m4a to make it works on my tab. Way to go.

Boost Audio volume

Is there away to increase the volume on the hero. I want to make my music louder through my headphones. Is there a better music player than the factory default one?
I use MixZing as my music player. I might be imagining it, but it seems louder than the stock HTC player, and has a cool widget as an added bonus.
AutoMOD Verson 1.4.
Works like a beauty. Only, clarity can sometimes become a problem if you turn the volume up too loud, as well as it sounding like it's hammering at your Hero's speakers.

Louder Volume Hack will also achieve this although some people report that it does not work for them...

Be warned it is a pay for app, but a refund is available if it does not work for you.

Can't find the program on Market.
What's the actual name? Can direct to the .apk file?
AutoMod 1.4 was the name of Louder Volume Hack quite a few versions ago, i am unsure if it was a pay app then or not...

Contents:
VZW_bootanimation.zip - logo animation in jpeg @ 15fps
FinalThunder.mp3 - HEV suit "login" sound from the game. "Welcome to the H.E.V. Mk. IV..." that junk.
I've packed everything. I think. Please let me know if there's anything missing or something goes haywire or something.
Oh god how do I use this thing?
• Extract contents, rename VZW_bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip
• Either copy the contents onto your SD card and use a root explorer or push them directly using ADB.
- For custom ROMs: /system/media/ or /data/local/, depending on your ROM
- For stock ROMs: it's either /system/customize/ or /data/local/. Refer to your phone's filetree for specific dir pathnames.
• Change permissions rw-r--r-- using any root explorer or chmod 311 /path/to/zip/bootanimation.zip in shell.

Try to port this over to I9100 Lulz/Tegrak kernel install. Somehow, even after image converstion to PNG reduce picture count it just wouldn't work. Everything coming out black.. tried for 3 hours. Giving up.... soon...
Give up... dunno why the image is not compatible.. :S
Solved the problem, i was zipping the pictures with compression

Here is the main features of this program:

3. it does splitting the movie into sequence of the files each of which has either fixed duration (length), or variable duration (splitting occurs under specified conditions).
4. it watches for the usage of the storage in the specified limits to prevent a lack of free space.

[Q] "Zoe Camera Music Files?" being pulled from the internet

music_minneland.mp3
music_muiro.mp3
music_noirin.mp3
music_rosala.mp3
music_satura.mp3

What I am struggling to fathom is how the files keep reappearing on my phone and music library after deleting all the mp3 files from the location listed in the screenshot above.
How is this happening? Does anyone know if it is possible to stop this happening?

Poweramp --> Settings --> Folders and Library then choose Music Folders and uncheck the HTC sound folder as you need to. Or, uncheck all and only choose /Music or wherever you keep all your Music.

[Q] Orphaned media files (alarm sounds etc) exist but not present in media database?

On my SGS3 (running CM 10.1.3) I have an odd problem where audio files have gone missing from the media database, although the file is obviously still on the phone (and I can't find them with ES Explorer or even manually looking through the SQLite database).
Example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
See how the alarm sound is "30348" for that alarm? It used to be a properly named audio file, and it should still be. Frustratingly I can't remember exactly what it's called.
Under the assumption that this number was the media file's unique ID for the media database, I used SQLite Debugger (from the Play Store) to search through external.db -- there's a gap in the entry IDs where 30348 should be - ending just before that then jumping to the 31xxx range.
Stranger still, when the alarm goes off, the audio file still plays! There's also another couple of alarms set with orphaned alarm audio files...
I've even tried leaving the alarm going, switching to a Terminal window and running lsof (as SU) to see if I can find the open media file being played, with no success.
This happened for several of my alarms and notifications recently - I managed to choose new audio for most of them but some of them (including, I believe, ones where I used ES File Explorer to select them, and not the native Media Storage selection) are no longer available to select.
I know if I choose another media file, I won't be able to choose or find this one again.
Is there a way to detect where the file is? Are there any backups held of the SQLite databases which I could look through? I'm at a total loss.
