I have a problem while I am trying to flash CWM. After flashing the phone the recovery gives me this error: E: failed to mount /system (invalid argument)
I have tried to fix this with odin but odin cant recognize my phone in download mode. I also tried another PC. I have installed the drivers. Windows can detect it when I plug it in but Odin can't. What can i do now? Is there any way to fix it without odin?
if you are trying to flash something in the stock recovery other than custom rom then it will not work
cwm of this device can only flash on ext4 partition
cwm of this device can only flash on ext4 partition
OK but how can I flash cwm with stock recovery? I have to format my sd card to ext4?
you have cwm no need to flash it again just ignore that error and flashing anything other than custom rom till you are using stock

Hello buddies,
I was using my DarkyModded SGS i9K and all of a sudden my phone's lock screen got freezed and i tried it shutting down but i wont recognize ,then i had removed my battery and rebooted it.Now the problem comes !!
It wont Reboot i.e It's stuck on Galaxy S -powered by Darky ROM screen !
i tried with odin to reflash it back to stock,Reinstall Darkymod, Stock Froyo but no luck!!
but it booted into Stock 2.3.x and was booting very very slow @ 1FPS of sgs animation ,so i accessed the recovery but it was also too slow even it was taking the input after a sec , i wiped it and still no booting up and one more thing my phone displayed once the BSOD logo and now my sgs can go into download mode also but cant reboot after flashing with odin ,ezodin!!
I would be grateful if anybody snapped me out of this crap !
Thankyou!
If you can get into download mode, then flash stock with Odin, 2.2 is a good option, was for me anyway. Hope this helps.
Which odin roms have you tried?
knowledge is Power. Guard it well.

EZodin 2.2 (Preroot+CWM3),Odin used for DarkyROM,Odin for Gingerbread ROM!
still no luck in booting !!
If you can get recovery, go to mount and storage then format everything. Then flash bootloader with ezboot and after that a stock rom with odin. It's just a try...maybe you're luck and it works

When flashing with Odin have you done a repartition?
Yep!
tried all possible ways!
:/
Re-format system, boot into recovery and go...mounts and storage-format system. Im no expert and please do this with caution and at your own risk. After format you will need to flash to 2.2 or something safe.
Already tried it says errors can't be formatted unable to unmount "/dbdata"!!
:/
please help me!!

1st of all buy a jig, it will give you download mode and reset the counters. Have you maybe got a corrupt internal sd card ? See when this happened to me I flashed stock via Odin, then I rooted and got clockwork recovery and formated ststem, then a custom rom. Are you seeing recovery and download mode, or are you seeing a pc and triangle with a cross.

Umm..so, if i get Odin 2.2 official then can i fix up my bootloader bootloop problem?
Yeah it helped me out, also pit files caused me problems in the past, my advice is get Odin v1.82 and froyo 2.2. Try it without the pit, just use Pda Phone and CSC. If it doesnt work try with the pit. Make sure the files are in correct boxes. Let me know friend

When you downloaded the clockwork mode recovery file you should have flashed via Odin v4.38 and not trough stock recovery cos that might end up soft/hard brick your phone try to follow the tutorial from af(android forums) on how to unbrick your phone it might help

Try to follow that tutorial that i've been talking about the one on (andorid forums) (it help'd me allot)although i'm not quite sure that it will help you very much cos that tutorial is for SGM s5570 but try it if it help's i would recommend before flashing clock work mod for your device (via Odin) not trough stock recovery, cos mine got stuck at boot logo the same as you i try'ed to flash cwm trough stock recovery and my device bootloop'ed so try to update your phone with latest version of gingerbread and then start to flash cwm on your device if the unbrick tutorial from af help's
Hi,
so I bricked my galaxy mini after flashing gingerbread with odin. It gets stuck at samsung logo but the bootloader and recovery(custom) still work. The problem is that I cant flash a new rom because odin cant recognise the bootloader. I think its because gingerbread replaced the stock froyo bootloader so it cant be recognised by odin.
Any help plz. Thanx in advance
boot into download mode through vol down + home + power button then flash firmware through odin

I tried that but it says installation aborted. I think its because the rom isn't signed. I will be grateful if someone suggests signed custom roms that can be flashed by the android system recovery. Thx in advance

try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093195
Rename the ops file in the right format.
For example if it was S5570_tass_v1.0.ops, Rename it to tass_v1.0.ops and try flashing it again. This helps it to get recognized in Odin and can unbrick the device.

I tried flashing it. Still installation aborted
download latest kies and install it and then reboot your system
after that try to flash
I tried everything I could on the responses but still odin could not recognise my phone. Tried flashing CWM with android system recovery it succeeds but when I boot recovery I find the android system recovery.
My question now is how I can flash CWM without using odin or android system recovery? I will b very grateful if I find the solution. Thnx in advance
Had to take it for repair
I have a galaxy ace that has been soft bricked.
I rooted and flashed CWM Recovery and all was well,
After trying to flash CM 7 stable my device now can't mount /cache at all. When I try to mount /cache or /data in mounts and storage, it doesn't work.
Does anyone know what is going on, and what I can do to repair it?
I can get into recovery, and Download mode, but it doesnt boot.
Thanks

Just flash the stock rom back from the Download Mode using odin. That should unbrick your phone. Then you can root your device, install CWM 5 and finally install any custom rom. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

The most stable odin for Galaxy Ace S5830 is v4.38. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (check the "Preparations" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
If your PC cannot recognize the phone, its usually the drivers. Once installed, go to recovery mode and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,

Hi all..
My friend encountered this issue recently..
where the phone cannot be started and the firmware error appears.
I've tried several attemps on recovering it back.
1. it cannot go into stock recovery mode
2. it can go into download mode
so i've tried to flash thru odin:
1) philztouch custom recovery
2) stock rom jelly bean from sammobile.com
both attemps failed.
so my next move is to connect thru kies.
it failed again as it does not detect the device to do the emergency phone recovery.
so now im in the idea of trying to flash custom recovery again and a custom rom. do not know whether it works or not, but ill try.
any other solutions/ideas?
Thanks.

If you cannot get the rom to flash.... You have to go through the philz kernel using odin.. Try to flash philz kernel xxlta version again using odin. Make sure you remove the battery for a couple of seconds. Then boot into odin mode. Use main USB ports and genuine USB cable.
