Can I increase number of home screen using Timescape manager? - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hi,
I have a Xperia TL and just flashed LT30p. I really like the Sony default home manager, but one issue I have is that I can't have more than 5 home screens.
Since home screen is the only place I can create folders to organize different apps, plus some widget I'd like to load, 5 home screen really isn't enough.
Is there a way to add number of home screen?
P.S. I have not rooted my phone and am not planning to at the moment, so it would need to be non-root solution.

Non root option means no sony homescreen with more than 5 homescreens.
You can add a third party launcher but you wont be able to run sony apps like timescape as a widget on them
Root option you can.
You can use the gx launcher mod from themes and apps, it lets you add up to 11 homescreens

Thanks for the prompt response. That is unfortunate Sony didn't make an option to increase # of screen like other launchers. I wonder if I can extract the apk from system image and tweak some configuration files to get there...

Yes, you can. Or you could try putting the gx homescreen mood files into an .ftf file and flashing that. I say try as I dont know if it will work.
There is a way of pulling, decompiling, editing, recompiling and pushing the frameworkres and systemUI apk's but it can not be done from the phone without root, you will need to mess with the .ftf file and flash it in flashtool. But that may break the signatures....

EDIT: Not sure what you mean by timescape manager..

I probably use the wrong terminology here... I mean the home launcher comes with Xperia.
Also, I searched on the internet and found some mod apk which has more screens, but there was no instructions how to do it myself. Can you please point me to the instruction page if there is any?

[Q] Change the dock shortcuts

Is it possible to change the dock shortcuts?
If so, how?
(i dont want ADW eller launcher pro (paid for both)
Have you tried Go Launcher EX? Completely free, stable and quick. Have it on mine and works a treat. Can then change what apps launch. So I have Opera as my browser, Go Dialer as my phone.
Thx bro, but maby I was not clear enough..
*i DO NOT want any other launcher than the stock one*
(at least until someone can tell me its not possible to change the dock shortcuts )
But thanks anyway, i know and have tried a lot of the homelaunchers, but it just like the stock one, i like the appdrawer where things are sortet in 2 groups, included apps, and downloaded apps.. also arranged alphabeticaly.. makes it much easier to find stuff
its not possible, maybe with some hard coding?
Oh well... ADW it is then

I know what you mean the appdrawer was one of the things I liked about the stock launcher as well.
Go Launcher has the ability to group programs into folders, which makes it easier for me. Doesn't look as nice as stock but works just as well.
Not sure if the other launchers also do this
I'm sure it's possible to change by editing LGLauncher.apk.
I don't have the knowledge or time to look into it though..
I couldn't stop myself having a quick look into the apk.
DockingMenu.smali has a lot of references to some dragging and dropping, did anyone even try draggin new applications onto the dock?
In stock launcher just go into the app list, select edit and drag into the dock whatever app you need.

In my opinion Use Nova launcher. So much possibility to customize it for your test. You can put up-to 15 apps on scroleble bottom dock. TW is good but i never use it because missing auto rotate feature. In nova launcher you can use your phone in landscape too. try Nova launcher I bet you will never use TW again.
Cheers....
(If you like Nova launcher dont forgate to press thanks button)
.
I could not figure out the instructions that's why I asked again. I press option and then press edit.what next?

I am on the TW launcher(default Samsung note launcher).
It does not allow dragging anything to the bottom(fixed) row.
I tried Nova launcher too, but did not like it. Guess, the only solution is to go try some other launchers.
They require root permission, but no issues, I am already rooted.
Will a launcher slow down the system, or its sort of a replacement to TW launcher?
I tried Launcher Pro, as well as Apex. Did not like them. The widget list available in Touchwiz(like SPlanner) do not show up at all on third party launchers.
Looks like I will stick to my default TW!
I have created video guide will update it when i m in office, just leave a pm to me if i forget.

[Q] Will using a custom launcher remove blinkfeed?

I guess it should, but maybe one of those who got their phones already can confirm this.

Yes, it does remove blinkfeed. Tested with apex launcher.
It will still be a background process, will it not? Even though its not visible. Like sense Rosie/prism itself

Torxx, you wouldn't happen to know a way we can have a alternative launcher running and keep blink feed?
I like it but I want my old Nova Launcher back
Alternatively, If I have to make do (which I expect I will have to lol) How can I change the Icons on the home screen Dock?
Or am I just being as thick as a plank??....
Cheers
To rearrange the dock icons, open the app drawer and then drag the unwanted ones back into drawer. You might need to drag them to where they're supposed to go (i.e. I have my drawer sorted automatically and had to drag the camera to where it'd be in the drawer).
You can only have the 4 apps on there but if you remove any, you're free to put whatever you want in its place.

It would be active, continuously streaming content to its interface on the sense launcher
Best option would be to change launchers and then freeze Sense
Just un-check all the options/feeds leaving blinkfeed blank. This way it fetches nothing. Then run you new launcher.

Thanks for the tip but Ive figured that out. The issue Im having is, If I use a Icon changer, it drops a widget on the home screen that is essentially a shortcut to the app you pick.
Because its a widget, it wont let me move it to the dock at the bottom...
I know I could probably go hinting to try and change the pings manually, I just really cant be bothered as I know It wont be long before I flash another rom.
Any Ideas?
Freeze it in titanium if you don't want it.

[Q] Nova launcher & Sony lockscreen Wallpaper

Had a quick search online and in xda but couldn't find much, few posts on a forum elsewhere.
I'm running nova launcher and can change my home wallpaper with ease. The lock screen is a different matter.
From settings > personalisation > lock screen
I can change to any of the standard Sony wallpapers, if I try and use my own it never changes. Anyone else found this? Have I missed something obvious :s
On .534 as no update for me yet, and no requirement to root yet.
i think this problem on nova launcher. becuase i use go launcher i can change my own pict on lock screen.
try go launcher, i very reccoment go launcher + go notification. with little setting your phone will fast and smooth(i has been use apex after try go ex, i never looking to other >< just my oponion.)

Nah, just cleared the defaults and rebooted. Using the standard Sony home, still can't select any other 3rd party or user wallpaper.
I'll try go in a bit, but if even stock software can't change it then it looks to be a bug?
Edit: no change, didn't think it would. Prefer nova over go from that short test but something to play around with.
Looks like an android issue than launcher
any locksceen app installed?

None at all
I use pattern unlock and the stock lock screen
try to use swipe unlock?

Yep, tried that as well. It's stock and not rooted. I've no want to root yet.
Which fw are you on? 534?
Nothing major, I just like to know why Somethings not working etc
factory reset, if not help, flash firmware again...

I'm also running nova launcher and stock .534 but i haven't had a problem switching wallpapers on the lockscreen. I've used camera generated photos and zedge wallpapers.

Sorted it.
I use quickpic as an album replacement app. Cleared the defaults and use the Sony album to crop then pictures and working as it should.
Something between quickpic and the os which didn't talk well I guess.

[Q] create shortcut to Xperia Home

Hi,
I'm just trying out the 4.4 stock launcher and like it quite a lot, but sometimes I want to switch to the Xperia Home launcher. As I don't see an icon for it in the app drawer, I was wondering if it's possible to create a shortcut to it on my homescreen? Can this be done with stock launcher, or I'd need something like Apex to be able to do this kind of thing? I am rooted if that helps.

Thanks, I guess this is a workaround. Hadn't thought of looking at apps, was used to using a Galaxy Nexus with Apex so never really ran into launcher limitations before and was hoping this is something that Android might be able to do natively.
I did manage to find a couple more apps that are supposed to let you create shortcuts to apps or activities, will try them out (though it looks like they create a widget rather than a "real" shortcut so i won't be able to place it in a folder...)
