I don't know if anyone has noticed the weather widget on the new Galaxy S2 but I think it's very clean looking. I'm wondering if there is anything in the market yet that has that design with a clock as well. Yeah I know there are a **** load of clock and weather widgets out there but I wanted to see if anyone has one that's similar or if someone out there could develop one for all of us. I'll attach a picture of it for everyone. Thanks for the help!

not possible unless somebody makes a mimic of it.
its like saying i want the HTC Sense Clock Widget, you can't pull it out of there because it requires the HTC Sense framework. Only way is to create a mimic of it (Fancy Widget's H7C)
Also there is no dump of Android 2.3.X TouchWiz. Best bet would be to create a skin with that idea in mind for Beautiful Widgets/Fancy Widgets
^ unfortunately that's the truth. Other solution is miui released their weather widget. Its available in this themes and apps section for the nexus s. Download the cwm.zip and flash through clockwork. It has two Widgets one that resembles sense and the other resembles somewhat the one you posted. Hope this helps.

I know it's tied to three launcher framework so I believe the only option would be to create a theme. Anyone up for it LOL?

I believe the only option is to port Touchwiz over. Similar to the HTC Sense clock, you need the whole rosie framework to get it to work.
Yeah I'm just settling for a theme for Beautiful Widgets or Fancy Widget. Thing I hate about Fancy Widget is the battery drain when I use it.

Well battery drain might be a slight exaggeration, but I did notice slightly less battery life when using fancy widget. I use Beautiful Widgets full time and noticed battery life is better.

Any news about this?
I want this weather widget for use in defy
Did anyone ever find a S2 widget for our Captivates?
here you go
http://www.accuweather.com/downloads.asp
I hope it (S2 weather widget) could be tweaked to work on other frameworks/phones too?
Because some stuff from my Xperia Arc was already made possible for other phones Eg. Sony Panorma camera, Arc Launcher etc.
I can only use it with TW 4...
The best widget of GS2 is the touchwiz calendar....
The weather widget you can download at Accuweather. The clock widget is attached.
Does this require flashing? Root access to use?

Hmmm I've been experiencing Lockscreen lags such as when I press the power button, I will get a sneak preview of the homescreen then only the Lockscreen comes up >< Hmmm I've also installed Modaco's rom hoping the problem will be fixed , but it still persists >< Is there anyway to fix the lockscreen lag issues?
Wow problem seemed to be fixed when I changed my font back to Droid sans :0

ok nevermind >< Problem returned
Lg's lockscreen is laggy, that's a fact ... you'll have to use a custom rom without this lockscreen but the classic one I guess fr10 vanilla would do it

It's rather impressive they managed to got the bloody lockscreen to lag on a tegra 2 soc.

Actually even the AOSP Lockscreen lags a bit if you use the LG Launcher, but the problem is that LG Launcher is the only one that can switch your screen on when you receive a message
I don't really know what you're talking about: Handcent SMS turns the screen on (if the option is enabled, of course) just fine for me, running on Modaco FR10 with LauncherPro. (and OC kernel)
Nice to know, I'll test with the default launcher
Hmmm I guess LG launchers arent very perfected then >< I hope they do something about the homescreen scroll lags and lockscreen lags in the next gingerbread update ><
hmmm, can i get that lock screen on my LG Optimus ONE?

Gotta wait for a port currently I think someone should at least be porting the lockscreen APK into it. But I have to say, its pretty laggy judging from everyone's perspective
I also notice the lag.. kindoff silly with a tegra 2 chip haha.
Anyway, I am using the pattern unlock, and Launcher Pro.. Froze LG Launcher.. So gotta be something different.
Haven't tried a custom rom yet..

Custom ROMs with the LG lockscreen also lags >< Although its not as bad as stock at least. try MoDaCo's ROM

Tested out with Launcher from Modaco's Kitchen, Fr11 and the kernel they give me with the ROM, with both Handcent and AOSP SMS, my screen doesn't light on when I receive a message, I need to switch it on manually

Mine does... I'm using handcent.
And while we are on this topic, launcher pro does speed up things a lot.

Hmmm how much RAM does launcher pro use up compared to LG's? I heard that homescreen lags are due to the caching of the homscreens. If there is no cache, the ram usage would be lesser but the homescreen scrolling would be laggy.
Saw lots of vids of g2x and lockscreen doesnt have that laggy feel. A g2x rom for 02x is gud.

Hmmm does the MoDaCo ROM use the g2x base?
Good news guys. I think I found part of the problem of what caused the lockscreen to lag. Hmmm Its because of the LG home launcher. I tried installing the arc launcher and guess what, the lockscreen became almost buttery smooth. RAM usage has reduced too! Wow I think Im gonna stick to the arc launcher from now on. Good thing is also that, I can use LG widgets in that launcher! I can use all the LG widgets in other launcers!
How is the Arc launcher different from other launcher say Go launcher and LauncherPro?
I love the simplicity of having no app drawer and integrated folders with the MIUI rom, but now that we have more gingerbread (thanks developers), I wanna try some other roms. I always lose apps in the app drawer and I know it bloats up my phone. If possible, is there any way to install the MIUI launcher in another rom (or just remove the app drawer from another launcher)? Or is it too deeply integrated to simply install the same way as something like launcher pro? I don't care about the ability to theme or whatever, I just want an app-drawer-free launcher.
Bump!
Isn't there any good launcher for CM7 without an app drawer? I find it annoying to the extreme like the MIUI launcher or ifone *blasphemy*

Here's a dark horse - "Simple Home" from LG!
I couldn't believe it myself...
After months of loving MIUI, and hating the drawer again after upgrading to Evervolv 4.1.2, I found Simple Home, a iOS-like drawer-less app launcher developed by LG, with an install footprint of only 2-3 Mb (versus MIHome's 20Mb payload).
LG? Really?!?!?

Are there any decent weather apps out there that work properly with the note's huge 720p screen?
Reason I ask this is because after recently using my personal favourite weather app (beautiful weather) it only takes up a part of the screen and looks ugly.
It has not been updated to stretch and make use of the note's screen.
The note comes preinstalled with accuweather but I do not like it's interface & when looking at the temperatures of other countries it's all over the place.
Any good recommended weather apps made specially for the note or at least take up the whole width of the screen?
Eye candy is a must have, something good looking like beautiful weather.
How about ocean weather.

HTC Sense style weather
Coming from 9 years of HTC devices, I am quite attached to the Sense Weather Clock.
Fancy Widgets has the best app that works well and puts waether and time on the homescreen and links to the stock clock.
There are many other skins included than the Sense one in Fancy Widgets.
How about Beautiful Widgets? I'm using it myself (on my DHD) and it works and looks (after some theming) awesome.
I think it's free at Getjar, but it may have been a "app of the day" thing when i got it.
Beweather is also good.. it also has HTC like or even better animations of the weather when u tap them..
P.S- its free at get jar too..
Thanks everyone for your replies, much appreciated.
I think the best looking weather app I've seen posted here was the Fancy Widgets which I will try.
BazookaAce recommended beautiful widgets which is great and I've tried.
Problem with beautiful widgets is that it's made for devices which are 800x400, which is what you have.
As the Galaxy note is 1280x800 it does not stretch in full screen and looks horrible.
Im using yahoo weather.

I use Beautiful Widgets and Go Launcher EX does a great job of re-sizing the widgets. I have setup my grid 5 wide and 6 high and the only problem now is finding enough widgets to fill the screens.

I decided to stick with beweather pro. It's a great looking app having an excellent interface as well as being easy to configure and customize.

Can you please explain how?
I have gone through everything, but can't change it from 4 columns wide to 5.
Cheers.
The launcher has to support it. Its a launcher and not a widget feature. Currently Zeam, ADW (Ex?), Launcher Pro (Plus) and Go Launcher Ex support widget resizing, there are maybe more, dont know.
