Open source archive for build 7.0.B.1.152 ??? - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I found a new source in SONY Developer site:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/xperia-open-source-archives/open-source-archive-for-build-7-0-b-1-152/
Is this a new fw for T in future or what?

I hope not, because that is the firmware for the xperia TL (American AT&T) which has a bootloader that cannot be unlocked

"Cannot" as in never? or is this something that may change in the future? Because I just received my phone in the mail today, and this locked bootloader is very disappointing. I might just return this phone if unlocking is not an attainable option for me.

check the service menu. It will tell you if it allows you to unlock it or not. Its always worth a bit of reasearch about this before laying out £350 or getting into a 2 year contract....

Can not unlock the boot loader but u can root it, best thing is sell it when get it as new (dont open it) then buy a sim free one from phones 4 u
Mine is vodafone as well mate, bootloader can be unlocked. I've left mine locked as root is available. Didn't want to lose BE etc.
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Premium HD app
How can it be unlocked if its locked?
How did you root it locked? Also what's BE. I'm new to Sony devices lol
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
bravia engine, u can root it without unlocking the boot loader but on yours the boot loader will be locked,
type in *#*#service#*#* then look service info then configuration look at bottom will say if it can be unlocked
Is BE a big loss do you notice it gone?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
i got mine from vodafone and out of the box the bootloader unlock allowed value was yes, however after flashing to uk generic, then rooting it has changed to no, i think this happened during root.
I'm sure I've read on here that it should go back to yes if you unroot and go back to stock.
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Premium HD app
does it work with another mobile operator? for example, will xperia z vodafone be working with russian mobile operators?
thx!
Should work anywhere but the uk, its only locked to the uk not the rest of the world
what is the difference between locked and not locked bootloader? what does it change?
i always had htc phones new to sony.

I have an unlocked bootloader,i locked it but same things.

The .434 update was released a couple weeks ago, I guess there are different release schedules for every country.
I had my XZ rooted with the locked bootloader method ( goroh_kun's ), and ota updates does not work.
Updated through Sony Bridge for Mac, it works, but the root access was lost. Re rooted it with the same method and it works
Seriously? I still have nothing even on PC companion. I'm on unbranded but use an O2 sim.

Same here, and Three don't even have any forums to ask how long updates should be taking, it's been three weeks now and absolutely nothing.
I knew Sony would be slow with updates but didn't realise I would then have to wait for Three to push it through! Will probably have to wait at least six months to get the 4.2.2 update! lol
Extremely bad customer service from Three so will be leaving them when my contract is up, can't even use Google to search for any helpful information as a company called 'Three' brings up almost every query regardless of network operator :silly:

Well, I haven't had the update and I will probably never get it! In a German forum someone contacted the customer care of my provider (t-mobile Germany) and was told by the tech-support that t-mobile will not roll out the .434 as their techs thought that it would harm the phone more than it actually helped. So they're waiting for the next update...
Dunno if it's true, but I could imagine that it is, as every provider releases their updates differently, so they might skip one as well...
you might wanna check if they do?

Root. Do whatever you want.
Need service? Flash stock before taking the phone to official service.
Same can be said about unlocking the bootloader.
But XperienceD is right, rooting DOES NOT VOID THE WARRANTY.

Wrong : The Free Software Foundation Europe argues that it is legal to root or flash any device. According to the European Directive 1999/44/CE, replacing the original operating system with another does not void the statutory warranty that covers the hardware of the device for two years unless the seller can prove that the modification caused the defect, accroding to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_rooting
So even if Sony, or the president of the usa, or Thor himself said that void warranty, that's not true.

I've been there personally. Took my Xperia S, another Xperia S, an X10, and an Arc to service.
All rooted no problems.
I even took my previous Xperia S bootloader unlocked to have the screen replaced. Totally forgot to lock the bootloader. They yelled at me because I wasn't covered by warranty, but they kinda know me already as I buy all my phones over there (they let me play with the Z Ultra too ), they spared my life and didn't charge the 150€ they charge for having the screen replaced without warranty.
Sony service is great here in Spain, if you take the phone personally. Not so much when you have to deal with delivery system.
Awesome.!! but the Sony service rep here in India are kinda dumb. But I can deal with it. Thanks a lot for your help guys

Haha sure do it, it's totally legal to root your phone, even in India.
So even phones with unlocked bootloader, they need to prove the damage is because of the software we used! Am I right in this?

Yes and no. The service that is in my city is very clear about this. What they told me is that they need to register te parts replaced with their software, maybe serial numbers to keep control what goes in and out,, but they can't do so with the bootloader unlocked as they cannot flash stock firmware with the tools they have.

Wrong, a phone with a locked bootloader can be flashed by any flash tool made for Xperia Z, it's only if you unlock the bootloader that they can't (SUS and PCC don't work on unlocked bootloader), and btw that void the warranty to unlock the bootloader.
And yes they need prove that the modification caused the defect if any.

Would unbranded firmware install fine on branded z1?

I have C6906 from Bell and i can't wait for bell to release 4.3
can i just flash unbranded 257 using flash tool
and use pc companion to update to 290?
my phone is not sim unlocked yet / never touched boot-loader / didn't even bother rooting it.
I am still on stock 534
thanks in advance guys
yes
As Greg already said - yes.
Branded version is same ROM but without a craps from your carrier.
So, not only you'll be able to flash it without any problems but you'll be very happy when you see that your phone is little bit faster and "cleaner".
Also, if you want to unlock SIM lock (if it's available on your device), you can do that by simple code order via Internet.

I've got the same phone from bell. First thing I did was flash an unbranded ROM. Bell has a few bloat apps that I hate. Best part is if you flash unbranded you don;t need to wait for updates. I got my update through PC Companion the day it was released.
Search the forums please.

I'm also on Bell with a c6906 and have done exactly what you are asking about and you will be fine. In case you didn't know we can't unlock our bootloader so the fix in 4.3 does not benefit us. Still 4.3 is a great update, loving the phone regardless.

Losing IMEI and SIM not accepted problems happen when you downgrade, not update.

[Q] Unlock bootloader

Hey guys. I'm trying to unlock my booaloader of my Xperia Z C6603.
When I go to the service menu and check it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No".
The point is, that I haven't bought my phone from a carrier, it's unlocked from factory and I don't know why I can't unlocked it
If it says "No", then it's permanently locked.
Did you purchase it brand new, directly from a store or used from a third party?

Then it's possible that the seller flashed generic software on a carrier supplied phone that they network unlocked before selling it to you.
You should contact Sony support and they should be able to confirm this if you supply your IMEI number.

Did the seller advertise it as an unbranded phone? Perhaps you can contact eBay to see if something can be done, even if it's some time after purchase. It's worth a try.

You cannot unlock a BL locked phone using flashtool.
If you want a different rom there are plenty of stock based custom roms just use the search function
