[Q] Weird signal problem. - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is connecting or something posting through mobile network every few hours and I dont know why. I have disabled 3G and data over mobile network and I hear that noise of mobile signal in my speakers every few hours. Anyone any suggestions? I have latest CM10 nightly(I had more of them and same problem) and I also tried Slim Bean still same problem.
Update: Maybe I found solution in Settings / Data usage / Options(Left button) / Restrict background data.... I think it should be easier to find this important options.
Update2: It didnt solve my problem any ideas?

Loose 3g data when Wifi is enabled with CM6.RC1

There have been a few discussions about this, but I have yet to find a solution that works for me...
I flashed CM6 today and now I'm finding that when I enable wifi, my 3g data connection is lost. Not sure this is really a CM problem, I just want to find a fix.
My setup:
Nexus One - CM6.RC1 - FRF91

what do you mean it's lost.. when you're turning Wifi on, that's the whole point (that you want to use your Wifi connection for data, and not your mobile 3G data.) Maybe I'm not understanding you?

Even with wifi on you still need 3g data to send and receive MMS. I can't replicate this problem, though, so I'm afraid I'm not much help. All I can suggest is trying a full wipe of everything but battery and rotate stats and try to flash it again. See if that helps.
It works fine for me. Are you sure you are confussing not having both icons in the notification bar with 3g being off?
I answered this question a few months ago too.
Your 3g is not lost, it just hides the icon. Go into settings and look what network you are still connected to for yourself, it will still say 3g. If you were to send or receive an mms the 3g icon would briefly pop up, send the message, then disappear. Your phone is working just fine
thanks for the help... @roger, you are correct, i didn't realize that the icon was hidden vs. actually turned off, nor did i think to go check the actual service rather than rely on the icon

CM10 nightly on Galaxy Tab P1000: WiFi drains battery and no GSM

Unfortunately, XDA won't let me post here yet (which is where this belongs!): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871113 so...
1) Modem. My baseband is recognized as P1000XXJPZ. Dialing *#*#4636#*#*: network set to GSM only (tried others though), network signal detected but GSM is "emergency calls only" and network signal indicator shows no signal. SIM is recognized (and works in other phones), can access contacts. Can find networks if I search manually but can't register on my network. Above thread suggested copying modem.bin to /system/vendor/ - did so, no effect.
2) WiFi. See the screenshot of battery usage - since I'm not using GSM or 3G due to issue #1, I normally disable radio altogether in *#*#4636#*#* and enjoy long battery life. However, CM10 did something sinister to the WiFi and the battery drains by 50-70% during just one or two hours of Google Talk via WiFi (provided I'm sitting right next to the access point). With WiFi switched off, the tablet can last for days - music, reading, etc.
My install was clean - data, cache, Dalvik cache all wiped, no custom kernel, etc. Everyting else works flawlessly, but these two issues are killjoy.
Does anyone else experience these issues? Does anyone knows why does this happen and whether it's possible to fix?

Same here.
Am thinking tht flashing an old rom might solve the problem.

Connected symbol (to 3G) but no data transfer

I have been having this issue for a bit now, it hasnt been like this always but only recently.
I also noticed that there was another user who was complaining of the same issue on a KK rom as well.
I have had this issue on Dirty Unicorns and Spirit Rom
I am going to give SlimSaber a try and see if it persists on that as well.
I know it could be network issue but I have never had this problem until recently and I did not change residence etc.
It shows connected in the status bar but there is no is absolutely no data transfer till i turn it on and off. And sometimes even that doesn't work and I have to turn of airplane mode. And this happens every 10 mins so I am sure it is no some sort of connection time-out issue
APN settings seem to be fine and such and I am out of ideas.
Could it be a ROM issue? Any suggestions as to what could help?
I am sorry for the horrible typos!
Tried slimsaber but issue persists
Updated the modem to the one for my country and it might help? idk

Stamina mode: mobile data connection disappearing

I'm in the UK on the Three network. I am using Stamina mode with Extended usage enabled to save power, but am seeing a consistent issue where, after an hour or two, the phone completely loses it's mobile data connection and will not reconnect without rebooting. This makes Stamina mode totally useless as it is not reconnecting when the screen is turned on. Which is the point right?
The signal indicator on the phone shows no "H" symbol when this happens, yet About -> Status indicates HSPA is present but mobile data is disconnected.
Does anyone have any ideas or any way I can log this without root so I can complain to Sony?
Clearing data for Eco Mode Controller and rebooting fixed it.
Where is the Eco Mode Controller? Is that what it is called? I can't seem to find it in my apps. I am looking at settings>apps>downloaded/running/all.
It should be in the all section. I have just encountered this problem on my Xperia Z3 (non-compact) and following the above instructions has helped me get my mobile data back. Thanks!

Mine was actually called the Extended Standby Mode Controller.
This issue has reoccurred today. Looks like Stamina mode has some issues.
Seeing the same issue here and also on Three
Happens mostly at work where signal is poor and patchy. I have noticed that in setting > phone >status that the Mobile Network type is Umts instead of HSDPA when this problem occurs. Rebooting the phone without moving it the phone will automatically reconnect as HSDPA
Anyone have a fix yet that does not require a reboot?

This is what I do when my H connection is bad and it reverts to E. I go to settings, mobile networks and select H only (not H preferred /GSM). It always moves back to H instantly. Then select again H preferred/GSM. This way you don't have to reboot.

Temporary dialer disconnection when 4G is on

Good day, guys. I have a problem. After update to 8.1 I have an issue with recieving calls, when some people call me and 4G mode is on (4G network type is enabled in mobile network settings) sometimes they can not dial to me, it seems like my phone is turned off and there is no signal. If I change mobile network mode to 3G, there is no problems. Also when people can't call me, I can make calls to them and there is no problems with connetion and mobile data. (connection level is full).
It looks like there is some energy saving mode of radioband module and It doens't work properly.
So I've changed SIM-card and changed the mobile operator to another, the problem still exists.
In the safety mode, the problem still exists too.
Also factory reset from recovery menu (wipe data) didn't help.
Is there any fix of this problem? I can't redownload the firmware with OST because of error. Thank you a lot.
I have similar problem, did you find out how to solve it?
