Just noticed this half nexus half iphone shape phone on the Google Play Store..
Looks pretty funny. Its weird that they have used a fake phone to be displayed on their website.
Not sure if trolling.

Pretty sure thats the Galaxy Nexus i9250. The iPhone doesn't have that much of a gap between the speaker grill and the FFC

The top of the galaxy nexus is curved. This phone has no curve.
Also the front facing camera is in the wrong place. Its on the opposite side.

Maybe... the bottom bezel is quite small.
The image has been mirrored lol. Look at the on screen buttons.
Pretty bad job Google.
Still doesnt explain the shape of the phone though,
It's probably just a bad photoshop work. >.>
It looks to me like they just took the gnex and flipped the image vertically.
Edit-
As a matter of fact... look at the light reflection they added to the three devices. if you turned the phone on its side and flipped it around the light would face the same direction. I'm sure that's what they did
Edit- see attachment... that looks like a GNEX to me!

Agreed, it's definitely the Galaxy Nexus. Someone just did a bad job of cropping the image. The bottom side seems to have an extra curve in it and the top side just got chopped off.
I couldn't find it.....

Anyone noticing a screen door effect with their LCD screen? Mine definitely has it, wondering if this is normal. My last two phones have been AMOLED, so I'm not sure.
Do you mean like this?
Nexus 4 has a pattern on the display.
(I'm trying to consolidate all these threads as more and more people finally get their hands on the phone)

No, it's not dots like the digitizer. It's very fine horizontal and vertical lines like seen on some cheap TN panel monitors.
Unfortunately it's so fine I doubt I could capture it with a picture. But it seems to detract from the sharpness of the screen.
Guessing it's just me. I assume if I think my Galaxy Nexus screen looks better than the Nexus 4, then I probably got a defective Nexus 4. RMA time it seems.
I'm cursed. Had to RMA my Galaxy Nexus a couple times because of the purple effect. My Nexus 7 because of the lifted glass, now this. Ugh.
If I look close, I can make out a very slight screen door effect at times. I'm guessing all of them have this to some extent, but maybe it's worse on yours if it's so noticeable as to bother you.

I can definitely see it on mine, grays make it pop out more. It's not too bad to warrant the hassle of trying an exchange, though.
Not sure why it would clear up by itself, but if it does I am not gonna mind it

You are right, it didn't. I think after using a while, I started seeing past it. Then I was messing around with my Galaxy Nexus and tablet. Then went back to the phone and I can notice those lines again.
It also depends on what I'm looking at. It really stands out looking at the XDA forums, on the brown colors (I'm using the XDA 2010 theme).
As always HTC build quality is shifty. This from my personal experience with many HTC models dating all the way back to the Mogul. Scraped the skin off my finger and now it's embedded in this phone. My DNA will be stuck inside this phone for it's whole life. Make sure to give your phones a thorough once over. You can see the gap on the left side. Anything could just roll in there. No, Samsung did not hire me.

I wouldn't say "Shifty" build quality.. but I would say inconsistent. My 1st EVO 4G was built like a brick house with no "real" issues (the B-spot.)
But my girlfriends needed replaced due to the bottom left corner of the screen pulling away from the body. Which was replaced 4 TIMES because each replacement had the exact same issue.
Then, Evo 3D, I had to replace that because the touchscreen was going out, which I've heard is a major issue with the 3D line.
I'm hoping the One has better part quality.

I still have the HTC Hero and its been used and abused. Its still in great shape and i never had a cover on it. But I am extremely pissed off at the HTC Evo 3D build that I am currently using (and will finally be done with in a few more hours when i pick up my HTC One).
The glue or adhesive that HTC used to put the phone together is horrible. I had metal front cover falling off the phone and the red frame on the camera portion is halfway falling off. For some odd reason when the metal portion started to peel off the front cover the phone would act crazy and it would always have the phantom button presses making the phone unusable. To fix the problem I had to super glue what I could down but now other sections are falling off that have been attached from HTC's adhesive.
I can't say that I am not worried but I really REALLY hope that any of these pieces are not sealed with any adhesive.

Only thread with picture was on Android Central (I added is as extension. my own picture would look the same). My first N4 didn't have this, but after doing an RMA the replacement did. They may have started using a different digitizer or something. Another interesting thing is that my replacement device doesn't seem to have much of an oleophobic coating either.

I can see both, the dots and this pattern on my device (on strong sunlight).
Only time I can see mine is if I lock the screen and angle it under light... even then its hard to tell...
Same here-i just received my Nexus 4 3 days ago and I immediately noticed the pattern( I used to have the Galaxy Nexus). It is most visible at sunlight in an angle with the screen off. I figured it was normal...I understand now that almost everyone has it...
My first N4 had no visible screen pattern, although in daylight I could see the dot matrix, wasn't a big deal though. However, I recently RMA'd due to a vaulty earpiece and my new N4 has the same pattern in the OP. Very annoying, visible when the phone's off but can also be seen, on occasion, when the phone's on. I don't know if my OCD will last much longer...I'm fighting the urge to RMA again.

Hi, due to several defects, many have chosen to send back the nexus 5 to receive a new one. infa89, a member of an Italian forum, had the following defects:
dancers and noisy buttons
SIM tray protruding
"cutting edge" display frame.
Comparing the old with the new phone, he noticed several differences, as you can see in the picture.
The new one has none of the above defects, it has
fixed buttons
larger microphone and speaker holes
more yellow display
green stuck pixels.
Someone else has noticed differences between his nexus and replaced one?
Mine has the small speaker holes, I bet that's why it buzzes through the whole phone.
Goddammit, now my phone feels second rate! :crying:
You know just yesterday I was looking at the speaker holes thinking they are probably too small to let the sound out easily.
RMA? Because of buzzy sound?
Edit...Yeah my buttons are fine too, and it's a 311
Oddly I have the tight fitting buttons, but the speaker/mic grille look to be the smaller ones.

I've been very pleased with everything...I did have a panic attack earlier when I dropped my phone and suddenly the vibrator stopped working...took my case off and heard a snap...I guess the cover came off or something? But now its working fine...
Only thing I noticed as far as defects is slight light bleeding on the edge of the screen in the corner. But I'm not anal enough to care...its only noticabke when the screen is black at night...

It wouldn't be surprised by updated "outer hardware" as the Nexus 4 also got updated with these "gummish-spike-thingies" on its back against slipping.

Little physical imperfections like that are pretty common with all phones. My Note 4 has a slightly loose power button, my Nexus 5 screen was about a millimeter higher on one side than the other...
Unless it's really causing an issue for you I wouldn't worry about it.
