Hey
I've a very very strange Problem with my phone. It happend twice since today morning. I downloaded a song from simplymp3 and listen to it a few times. After a few hours I wanted to hear them again, but suddenly the player doesn't support the File Format. I've looked up in the Root Explorer and it says me that the File Size is 0.00B, i have no idea why!!
First I thought the Problem is just related to songs which I've downloaded from simplemp3, but I also found a few songs from a complete Album which have the Size 0.00B. Does anyone of you have the same problem or know what the hell that is?
I've never seen something befor.

I have searched all over for this, but cannot seem to find anyone else having this particular problem, so I am curious. Sorry if this does not apply to you.
Here we go:
First of all, has anyone else noticed that their incoming text message notification sound gets changed occasionally to the default WM one (not the SE one) without you doing anything to change it?
Second of all, if you answered yes to the above have you noticed any correlation between the sound changing and a wired headset getting plugged in?
I am curious because I have been having this problem and I think I might have found the trigger. This has happened on every ROM (R1,R2,R3,Itje's,valkery's) I have ever flashed, so I do not think that it is a ROM specific bug. I dont know how many people use the wired headset that came with the X1, but surely if this isnt a ROM specific bug I am not the only one having trouble with it.
Is anyone else having this problem?
The same thing was happening to me, I wasn't sure why it was doing that either. I guess it wasn't that big of a deal so I decided to keep the original default one. Kind of sucks that it does that. If anyone has a solution to the problem let me know!
the only time i notice this is when i remove my memory card. As i store my ringtones on there if i remove it and a text or call comes through the X1 will default to the standard one.
Once i have reinstalled the card i can select my tone again.
does this help?
glad to hear I am not the only one.
I can understand why it would do that with the memory card removed and the sound file no longer preent, but maybe that bit of information can help us find out the real issue.
I will do some digging, as I am pretty proficient with these things. Thanks for the input guys.
I noticed it used to do that on my old X1i... it wasn't that it would randomly change the sound, it was that suddenly the sound I was using would disappear! I had to re-copy the sounds back on to my phone every other week, and I had no idea why it kept disappearing
I noticed this problem on my X1 as well.
Not sure what triggered the change to default tone.

do you use a wired headset?
I've noticed the tone changing to the default "beep" when i receive a message whilst i am on a call. Then i have to manually change it back to the one i had before.
I have the same sometimes, and also my auto brightness and optical joystick settings are changed occasionally. dunno why, but it doesn't happen very often.
I had this happen the other week. I wasn't touching the phone other than having an sms conversation over the course of a few hours with the phone going into standby between sms's. All was going well with my normal sms tone and then suddenly it changed. I hadn't touched any other settings or added or removed anything. I don't know if it is related but a couple of days later, the sound went to half volume through my speaker until I rebooted.
I don't think taking out the memory card is the issue. I've had the tone saved in the phone memory so I don't think it would be affected if I eject the memory card. I'll have to test out the wireless/wired headset to see if that does anything once I get my phone back from repair. It was supposed to come in yesterday but didn't, hopefully today.
Never happened to me.
May happen due to changing the placement of the desired sms tone in the device's memory (changing the folder).
mine has just started doing this in the past week, weird....
This happens to me every time I start SKTools, it's weird.
Hi guys
it happens to me as well...
Hi
I get this too. My sound file is saved under windows folder on the device. Can not pinoint it to an act or happening on the phone which triggers it.
This has happened to me as well. I have noticed, everytime I turn the volume off, the ringtone changes.
I had the same problem..But..
I installed a trial version of panoramic phone genius and SPB MS3.01 and later replaced phone genius with SPB PHone Suite and S2U2.
Now this no longer happens. The sound would change especially after I reset the phone (turned off and then on). Now this no longer occurs. Hope this helps.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone else have experienced this problem or know how to solve it. So I've been putting my mp4 movie files in sdcard/videos/random on my phone but then the movies would get "deleted" because there would be no trace of it. When and why it gets deleted I have no idea because after putting the files there, I check that it is actually present with ASTRO file manager and through Meridian. The next time I come back to try to watch it, all my movies are gone. Any ideas/suggestions? Its getting annoying because it has happened several times and it takes a butt long time to upload my videos.
Hi guys, I am facing a weird problem. A month ago my phone told me it couldn't access my sdcard, I had to put it in my computer and I found out that every file was 4kB (cluster size) big. Had to format it, lost all my data. Today similar thing happened, when I was listening to music, player suddenly stopped saying that it couldn't play this filetype. When I mounted my card in computer, all files were just gone. No warning at all.
I am running cm7 latest nightly.
What do you think? Faulty device, sdcard or maybe a virus? Has anyone experienced this?
Thank you for answers, always appreciated.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
I've been running CM nightlys since two months and never run into such problem. My guess would be that something happened to the SD or some virus.

Hi, did you try to search this file with any file manager?
Do you consider make a wipe data?
I am experiencing frequent problems with the process android.process.media - I suppose it's the media scanner.
Randomly, my phone isnt' responding (if screen is turned on, it just doesn't wake up). If I look inside the diagnostic app, android.process.media is causing this problem. I got like 780 entries with that process.
While this happens, I don't get notifications, no sound, phone works, but very very slowly.
My z3c is rooted, so I tried installing xposed module Xposed media scanner, but I haven't seen results.
Factory reset solves the issue for one day, then the battery drain and process not responding begins again
The problem happens when scanning my 64gb sd card, which I bought new bceause I thought it was a matter of sd card. Formatted from phone, issue still there.
My next step is now putting a .nomedia file at the top of the sd card... I'll use a 3rd party media player like poweramp which scans independently for files...
Is anybody having this issue / has any other solution?

Seems that your sd card is corrupt. I suggest trying out a different sd xard to see if the problem persists

Already done, issue is still there...
I've got the same issue with my Z3. The only solution is a complete factory reset including reformatting the sd-card. But after some time (and after I copied my large music-library on the sd, which may be the reason for the issue) it freezes again and restarts every 2 minutes - showing a lot of entries for android.process.media in the diagnostics app.
Did you already try to disable the media process? Maybe this would help.
The freezing usually begins after powering on the phone - when the sd-card ist rescanned.
Exactly the same here. I put a .nomedia file at the top of the SD card folders, and issue has disappeared (two days passed since last restore). With that trick at the beginning process doesn't scan inside SD card... I have a lot of music, so with 3rd party music player like poweramp everything s fine..

Thanks, the .nomedia seems to work for me, too - the phone was rebooting every two minutes today, now it's working without problems - at least for the last hours.
