[Q] AnTuTu does not test sd card - Galaxy Ace S5830i General

Hi
I don´t know why but since i changed my sd card from 32GB to 2GB and flashed a whole new system
ANTU TU show about 100 points less than before and it´s not testing sd card read/write speed.
So i flashed all new cause i thought there was something wrong with some files cause of a incorrect installation.
But ANTUTU still shows the same results...
no memory card read/write testings.
What´s wrong?

You need a good amount of free space on it.
I'm not sure about the exact value, but it's somewhere between 100MB and 300MB.

you were right.
After i deleted some data on sd card everything works fine

Hi.
Same problem. But I have free space 450MB on internal, and 27GB on external SD card...
Antutu SD card test started not to work when I had 8GB Class 4 card. But on that card free spase was enough too (~4GB). Now I use 32GB Class 10 card, but antutu test ignores sd cards. It does not matter which sd card I set in antutu settings - benchmark test skips sd card read-write tests...
Thanks.

[Q] SGS Storages types summary?

RAM 512Mb but you only have aprox 326 Mb for yourself, the rest are used by the OS and System Services.
Internal SD, can come in 8GB models or 16GB models
External SD, is whatever SDHC micro SD card you want to insert into it, supports up to 32GB micro SD cards
the Internal SD is split in 2 GB for System OS Apps, and whatever is left over is yours to use.
the Internal SD is aprox a Class 4 SD card
Amd what about system types on internal sd? What is reason for so slow stock i/o? FS type? LagFix i choosed store data on same chip...

exactly because of that the internal SD is split into 2 active partitions, by having the swap file on another SD card, then it lessen the access time

Ok! But..... CFLagFix-1.70 moves files to internal SD, not external.
It was in internal, and became also internal. So what's the difference?
Ok, maybe another partition, but same storage! May by file system structure, heard about some journals??? or what else??

[Q] Memory Confusion

My Captivate is running Android 2.2. I have a 2 gig external SD card. On the memory specs, it says the internal SD is 13GB, and the phone memory is 1.34 Gigs. I have the option of installing or moving applications between Phone memory or SD card.
1. Does phone memory mean the 1.34 gigs, or does it refer to the 13GB internal SD card.
2. When you install/move to SD card, which SD card is it referring to, the internal or the external?
They should make this a little clearer.

You app can be move either on your internal or external. I believe the app will move them to the internal by default.
As for your phone memory, I'm sure sure what you're trying to know here
i just kinda was writing about this
normally the apps get installed to the internal storage (the almost 2GB)
all apps2 sd methods install to the external SD
there is no way to install to the internal SD (the 13GB), that i have come across.
but it is really hard to fill up the 2GB internal storage.
for more kinda info see my thread from 10 minutes ago.
Apps2sd - internal sd? why the hell not?

New internal SD, not as fast as I thought

So I bought a Patriot Class 10 4GB microsd and replaced my the internal sd in my Streak and it all restarted fine and I tried quadrant but I got around the same score as I did with the old one, 1600ish at 1ghz. What is everyone else getting on 1.9 without perfmod and either with stock internal sd or non stock.
My results were
1586
CPU: 5150
Memory: 1154
I/O: 937 (Important one I want to compare)
2D: 301
3D: 388
Cheers
Well I have never run StreakDroid without the perfmod long enough to write all that down, but with the perfmod and SetCPU set at 1190 these are my scores:
Total 2128
CPU 5357
Memory 1119
I/O 3483
2D 307
3D 375
Do you feel a difference by replacing the internal sd?

Just in case: I did the sd mod with the 8GB Patriot class10 microSD and it works fine too. No need to modify any file, system will be prepared and installed on it on first boot and you get 6.someting Megs left for programs after boot. Never tested for quadrant scores but I guess they must be about the same as yours.
give "SD Booster" a try, otherwise the access speeds are set inside the unit. being an C10, you can get away with 8192, even if the app says it's too much.
you can use "SD Tools" to gain a better insight into how much of an improvement the new SD card settings will give.
both are free.
i know this my first message and i need a help or great tutorial for microsd replace steps ...

you can only do that with a 4Gb card, anymore than that and you have to do some partitioning to the card so the rest of the space will be available, some reading and research would have told you that

That is incorrect. I replaced my internal SD Card with an 8 GB card and the phone formatted it fine. The extra steps and system files mods are only needed if you want to use the space as user space and not as system space. Some reading and research would have told you that.

SD card question

I am sure this has been covered before but I finally made a boot SD for CM7 and while it works pretty good I want to try a class 4 sandisk SD card to see if its any faster. My question is can I just copy everything from my card now to the new card and insert it in my Nook?

Not using windows explorer. But you can get the free program win32diskimager. It can read your card and write the image to your PC. Then you can write it to your new card.

uSD Card Size
Hi,
I notice a lot of Rom images say will will work in a 4GB card.
Is there any problems using a larger card, like 8GB?
Thanks.
Everett1954
Yep. Use above method to put your image file on anything up to 32gig card; be sure you are using Sandisk brand, though. Small block read/write speed makes this the Nookers choice.
I just migrated from an 8gb to 16gb Sandisk card last night. I used win32diskimager to make an image of the 8gb card and then wrote that to the 16gb card. I then had to use a combination of Linux GParted and EASEUS partition manager to modify the partition sizes. I wanted to make more space available for apps instead of the 1GB (I upped it to 2GB), and expanded the CM7 partition to fill the remainder of the drive. I booted from the new card and everything seems to be working fine.

Might sound like a silly question, but will the phone be faster at browsing the internet etc. if you use a really good/fast SD Card as the internal memory instead of having no SD Card at all?

Very good point of view )
internal SD is way faster than even a Class 10 external card. all cache data should be loaded to /from internal card. if you want to keep speed up.
Internal sd is not faster then my samsung class 10 20/20mb sd so it's not true
Internal 11mb write while my 16gb samsung goes 16mb(tested on many apps)
Internal memory(nand) is fastest but internal sd is not faster then good sd card...

very well, but as long as the phone can read / write at those speeds within the phone you have a good chip. it seems you are then limited by phone hardware rather than chip type. should be a way to move its cache to a different place. would be in the programing of the apk.
True, but like i said my phone limits sd card write at 16mb which is still faster then internal sd card(11nb)
That sd card performs at about 20mb write in pc card reader
