Is there any chance to find right now the Ui 3.0 launcher, locksreen and weather widget from optimus 4x ; and to install them on CM10?
It requires the framework of lg stock rom, so flash the lg official ics rom or you could wait developers' work

Right now: no.
It needs to get ported, which is not that hard but an ugly work.
The real problem is LG (as always). No one wants to do it with the ICS version but waits for LG UI for jellybean.
Unfortunately LG as still sucks hard with their updates.. so you have to either wait or use the Stock ROM is it's that important for you.

Jellybean SDK here... although we dont have compatible drivers =P.... bound to be interesting heee
Maybe its the same base drivers from ICS?
But the issue is the system requirements. Things like 60fps, Vsync, triple buffering and higher CPU priority for responsiveness should choke our humble Black.
Not all devices have stable ics and the relaesed jb already xD

Nexus S will be upgraded so, it should be possible also for our Black, but I doubt we'll ever receive a stable ICS
we will receive stable ics, either by our developer friends or lg
I'm having faith on the devs, I'm sure ICS will be stable on OB soon.
and Jellybeans will be twice the wait that's for sure...
Nothing is sure..
What is it with google and their uneagerness of releasing new oses

This is true but we must first see ICS on our Black and only then think about Android JB.
Anyone know an ICS Rom that has HW acceleration? I've tried Nova and Hellfire Sandwich but neither has that. Suggestions. Currently runnign stable CM 7.2.
The ISC drivers that are needed for acceleration are available, but are useless until LG releases some sort of Kernel to work with the drivers to my understanding. They are obligated to release the kernel and other stuff needed for developers to build a Complete and stable rom, but no one knows when. It should be soon tho, my guess 1week-1month maybe even sooner.
Here is the website, not sure if its official or not. As you can see, the kernel currently on the site is for v20(Gingerbread I think) we need v30 which is for ICS
http://code.google.com/p/openstar2x/
Since we don't have the drivers, we can't have hw accelerated roms.. so you'd better wait for lg official update..

@Dimension 2035 Thanks for the explanation. Is it safe to assume that when official ICS for p990 drops (its out for su660) then the dev team will have the kernel they need to work with?
@Byteater Definitely won't ever do an official LG update. When I tried upgrading to official Gingerbread my phone got bricked past recovery, luckily the guys i bought it from sent me a new one and so instead I just flashed CM 7 the next time and it works great... prolly better than official LG ICS when that comes out.

There is only one place I know that may bring ICS to the P990 and that is LG Singapore. If they do it will be Perfect!
Here is a discussion thread about it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851702

you don't need to upgrade the phone to official ICS. But the official release (with source codes) will help devs to extract drivers and to insert them in cm 10 roms

NO!
we have to wait for the sources otherwize we wont know what to do with the binaries, also, 4.0.4 to 4.1.1 didnt suffer such drastic changes as its made obvious by the very small difference from 1 to the other, theyr both 4. something, so theyr almost the same except for some optimizations in jb if i didnt understand wrong. bottom line is, as soon as we get the sources well have a fully working cm10 rom in very little time, drivers are all thats missing since only camera doesnt work properly now... (at least in the cm10 rom im using(tony. p's hackfest)
I'll be waiting patiently for the developers to work their magic I guess!

Hi.
I'm using Nova HD rebuild ICS CM9 ROM on my Optimus 2x and i'm very happy with it but I'm missing HW support. It was said that the devs couldn't do anything until LG releses update for ICS. This is what I found on internet:
"Android 4.0 now available for LG Optimus 2X... in South Korea, anyway" (sorry I can't post a link...it's on engadget.com)
so would this help or are we still just hopping nont to be stuck on GB.
Tnx for answer.
Hey, if the Sense-Rom (by Dexter, thank you very much for that! ) would already run perfect and stable on our device, would it be possible to bind in some mods for the One X, which are based on the stock rom of the One X?
Or do they have to be ported, too?
...sent with my LG Optimus 4X HD...
yes as long as its framework changes, if they start installing binary libraries , it might cause bootloop. but regular graphics mod should work just fine , as long as you look for the version 2.x this was based on, JB mods will not work

Okay thank you for the answer!
So just to check if I got it right, you mean that I should look at the mods which are based on Android 2.x or what do you mean with "version 2"?
...sent with my LG Optimus 4X HD...
no, there exists many Sense editions and for One X you need their v2.17 release, which is still 4.0.3 based.
many numbers, sorry,.
a wrong mod and you got a bootloop

Let Google release Kit Kat,
then let them release its source,
then let CM start working on nightlies,
let the nightlies stabilise a bit,
Non neon support has been dropped... HOPEFULLY some one using tegra device will manage to port it for us,
then maybe... who knows... depends on the nature of changes too...
Now how do you want the chances, using mathematics or statistics... should I use conditional probability
We only have official ICS, all of jellybean is unofficial...
i say enjoy the current candy, The ROM JB 4.3 is very much stable and usable as daily driver...
Hahahahahaha seriously? 4.3 is still being stabilized and you ask for 4.4 that is still not out? Geez, i love xda lol

I think it's not very hurry to get a android4.4 because 4.3 is very smooth and stable too.:cyclops:
Yes I know that kowalski and tonyp is working hard on 4.3 (kowalski on the kernel) and they did an amazing job (respect to them) but the people will always want the new "thing" I use 4.3 too (love it) but I look forward too for 4.4

hi
4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 none of them are stable.
I use but each with their problem.
I'm with The Rom Tony P. and love,
clear that hdmi and bluetooth does not work,
but to me it does not matter to me,
but that means unstable,
hopefully Tony P together with a Kernel MASTER PENGUS,
again make our 2X a great phone and not stop in time.:good:

Also, i've read that KitKat should be heavily optimized to work well with devices that have lower specs and 512 megs of memory. Sounds like a good news, but i guess only tonyp and pengus could shed some light on that

fingers crossed. Well for those who can't wait for android 4.4 and just want to have a feel of it feel free to download the apks for it.
i dunno if it's true or not, but i read this "One of the key features of the new release is optimizations made to the OS, so as to be able to run smoothly on legacy devices with just 512 MB of RAM." but with that said, i think it will be only custom roms with the Optimus 2X that will give us Android 4.4 bcs i doubt that pre 2011 phone with Android will get updated like LG would give the Optimus 2x, Android 4.4 but i could be wrong...
well i think its time to say goodbye to O2X .....been using it for almost 3 yrs.it had good run....just ordered NEXUS 5......:laugh:
If you guys are so eagerly waiting for 4.4 then why not change it in build prop .
Simple I am doing it since gingerbread. currently I am on 10.2.6
The N5 is very good, but has some negative things.
Battery and camera when change will be for the LG G2 , xiaomi mi3 or S4
Tanujcool how?
