How to upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)?

Hello Guys,
How are you? Long time no see.
Recently, I have just upgraded to Android 4.0 and it runs smoothly. It's GREAT!.
Below are the EASY STEPS to upgrade to Android 4.0 for your beloved LG Optimus 2x SU660. I am using Windows 7 in upgrading to ICS.
1. Download the latest ICS ROM - http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGSU660/ASKTDW/V30c_00/V30C_00.kdz. It will take 1 hour or more depending on your Internet Speed.
2. Download the KDZ Converter - http://www.mediafire.com/?xbxacly4195v7xb
3. Run KDZ Converter and choose "1" for V30C_00.kdz. Wait for a couple minutes for processing. Be sure that KDZ Converter and V30C_00.kdz are on the same folder. Choose "No" if ask about CWM.
4. Find V30C_00 Folder [You will notice 2 files: CP File and AP File] and place this folder to Drive C: for easy location.
5. Download the LG United Mobile Driver - http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdat...bileDriver_S4981MAN37AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.7.zip. This is to ensure that you have the latest driver.
6. Run the LG United Mobile Driver (file from Step 5). Wait until it will say FINISH.
7. Download the SmartFlasher Tool for LG Optimus 2x - http://www.mediafire.com/?zm8q0iq53108ccw
8. Run SmartFlasher Tool for LG Optimus 2x (file from Step 7)
9. In SmartFlasher Tool, select the 'ROM Copy D/L' tab. Ensure 'Normal Mode' is selected. Ensure 'Erase CAL' is NOT selected.
10. Under CP Bin, put the .fls file (from Step 4).
11. Under AP Bin, put the .bin file (from Step 4).
12. Turn off your SU660 device. Hold "Volume - " while connecting your Device to your computer using USB Cable Wire. You should see a software update message on Phone Screen (S/W ...) and in the SmartFlasher Tool, the COM port and Communication Driver should be filled automatically. Be sure you comply, Step 5 and 6. LG Mobile Driver must be updated before doing the steps below.
13. Click Start.
14. Wait for few minutes and be sure, that it says "Download Complete". It will take 5 to 10 minutes to finish.
15. Wait for few seconds until the Phone open for the new ROM. You will see a lightning SKT Icon.
16. To change the Language, go to Settings and find "A..." icon and click the first menu bar and change it into English. Or, in the first open of your upgraded phone, click the button below the Android Logo (Center) and choose English.
So, instead of paying the technician from $30.00 to $40.00 per job order, you can do it by yourself.

yahhh that's true.. i received an error again.. "camera connection error" after using panaroma. i restart my phone then its ok again.. hope i will not receive that error again.

If you cant see it, try to open your eyes ok, now seriously, what ROM are you using? Try a different usb mode (settings -> storage -> menu button) and it should work just fine.

Did you maybe update to a higher version? Install any app, that could cause it? Like I said, simply try to go to settings and then use different usb modes. Maybe it will work again. If not, I d see, if you can connect it to download mode. Turn it off, hold VolUP and plug in a usb cable. If it turns off, your USB port should be fine and working and it seems to be a software issue.

Using Windows 8 :silly:

Go into the o4xr folder and there should be another o4xr folder inside that, and open a command prompt holding shift and right click with the mouse (might work with windows 8) If not the terminal path will have to go through both folders. That happened to me because I had the o4xr folder within another o4xr folder if that makes sense ( if that makes sense) hope that helps

About windows 8 I don't know a thing but, on seven I just double-click on the "root" batch file and the process starts right away...

Win 8 the enemy of developers it seems.

Well, for me Windows8 will end like Vista, while Windows7 like XP.
Windows 8 for tactil devices have a nice interface but in a normal computer... sh*tty.
I have a Toshiba Qosmio, 18,4", with 8GB of RAM, I7 Intel processor, I can say that is a fast laptop... even like that I un-install all unnecessary programs and functions (except AERO), shortcuts I don´t have, I use two DOCKs for that, soo... have a OS that looks like a windows mobile, is not for me!

1st - Install the "IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk"
2nd - open the app, while the screen shows "Hello World" press power button and click on "reboot"
3rd - after rebooted and with the phone connected, run the batch file "root" from the folder "onxr".
Wait for the reboots and voila
Don't forget again that the phone must be setted to "charge only" and "debbug" ticked...

Wait... you're with Windows 8?
Cause if you are maybe is not that simple but, first try this:
Copy the 11 files inside the "onxr" directly to disk "C:", open the cmd select C: and type "root", if it doesn't work tomorrow I'll try something else.
Now is time to go to bed :angel:

Guess I'll have to live without root for now:/

Well, last resource you can put the files in a pen drive and do it in some friend computer running on 7...
But I search a little and DOS work normally on 8.

great solution, or (like me ) you download an windows XP iso , and download VMWare, install windows xp on that , and there you are, you can now do anything windows 8 cant
used this to root
and bootloader unlock my parents wildfire s, and also to update my brothers xperia p to ics

I just downloaded an app that could possibly substitute beats (dsp manager) buts its not as good as beats.
And could I give the phone to someone that could root it for me? That would be nice lol
