[Q] Apps won't run. - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I copy the apk file to my phone then run the App Installer to install it. then I get the message when I run that "Unfortunately myapp2 has stopped"
Can anyone shed some light on this error? do I have to do something to the phone to allow it to run my own built apps

Also, try uploading the app so we can test it here.

Make sure permissions are correct for your app...if you are writitng apps I assume you know how to do this in recovery or manually using rot explorer..
some information that may help us
are you rooted?
what rom are you on?
What app are you trying to install?

It's ok I've found out about ddms.
I have to test my apk locally with the debugger first. ddms.exe
That will run it though the emulator and output error info.

Not sure, but that usually happens when you try to install a app for ics on gb...
The app is not supported in your ROM.

I was just wondering that he downloaded it from the market. Had the app not been compatible , it would have never showed up in the market aka Play Store.
There might be some other issue(s)

He did not mention not using market enabler. He said it happens usually while installing apps for ICS at GB - that sure is a compatibility issue
Actually something wrong with the installation... if that happening to any app you maybe should try another version of the market.
did this happend suddently?
Are you sure you have good internet connection?
Are you sure you have enough free space??

There won't be any parsing problem with free space or internet speed :/
If the app is written for a higher system as your one you'll get this error. This might be because your system(andoid-version), hardware( ARMv6 instead ARMv7) or rom does not support the app.
Sorry for my bad school english.

You can compile with a higher sdk and still target lower devices, the key is to to define the minSdkVersion in the manifest and ensure the compatibility with lower api levels
just found it on google
1. Change the required API level tag android:minSdkVersion from the manifest file
2. or remove the required API level tag android:minSdkVersion.
ex:
Edit your manifest file which contains the line
uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="11"
Click to collapse
to
uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7"
Click to collapse
or whatever is preferrable for you.
AckeflyRyzle , i can't get it
This also happens if the package apk is corrupted.
Haaaaaa!!!!???

I have been facing this very same damn prompt as well but not from the apps downloaded from the Google play but with a few of the ones I downloaded from the torrent sites and so I have been following this thread but I swear reading your reply I could see a spring flying out of my left ear and bouncing against the wall!
Can you please elaborate on what you said a bit more!? I have absolutely no idea what did that one even meant! but strangely I am up fro learning it so if you may be so kind as to point me to the right direction I would appreciate that!
Did you try installing the package a second time?
Parsing errors can happen because of memory management problems too..
Sometimes just trying to reinstall the apk works fine..
Try to redownload. The parsing error occurs when the apk is corrupt. I know it from experience. If you have incompatible Android, it will only state "Not installed"
Hope I helped

When i go into Settings - Sounds - Music Effects I am getting an FC

Like the title says, I'm getting an FC in settings when I select the music effects under sounds.
Any idea as to what I could do to fix that?? I am not sure if there is a way to fix permissions or not since we don't have a recovery.
Did you freeze it in titanium backup?
There is a fix permissions option in ROM toolbox lite and safestrap has fix permissions as well.
If you have TWRP recovery, there's a fix permissions in the advanced menu. Like shane1 said, I'd try that first.
I'm not seeing the option to fix permissions in ROM toolbox. Where is it??
Also I did't freeze it in TB, but I do have other things frozen. Is there something specific that I should look for.

You started another thread , its simple. You have viper android installed. You need to remove viper android completely.install this but you need to remove or rename the existing play music app. This zip flashes music fx with 10 presets and you may also customize the equalizer also. After you flash it go to phone setting and find sounds, select music fx as your equalizer and bam

I appreciate the help, but I can't download that zip. Its saying I don't have access.
And for the record my two threads are on different topics. One was to address my setting fc'ing and the other was to address my music randomly stopping.
Those are two different issues in my mind.
I appreciate the help, but no need to stir things up!!!

Ligux and Google market "This item is not compatible"

I am currently using LiGUX + N.O.P.E. Kernel V2.6.
I found one problem and maybe someone can help me.
I cannot install an application from Google market.
There is a cross mark and message "This item is not compatible with your device".
But earlier when I used CyanogenMod10 BUILD #3 + N.O.P.E. Kernel V2.6. or at begin with stock ROM I have nothing problem use this application.
If I am using Market helper to hide my device, then I can install this application, but cannot run. In this case is error something like "missing library".
Any suggestion or idea what to do?

They will remove all the settings, account logged in the play store. Hence you can open it fresh.

You Can try Warriors Method but here is a explanation!
The Gplay Store Reads the build prop file so if there is modifications to it that the app doesn't support Google play will say NO!
I would try editing the build.prop file

This is caused by missing dependencies. Check the thread for Codename Lungo, I explain the steps to get it fixed. It'll be useful if you can tell which app is giving you trouble.

I see, it uses location-aware dependencies. First make sure you have Google Maps and Google Search installed. Then try deleting the cache of Play Store, reboot and try again. If it's still not working then try the steps in the Codename Lungo thread.

Yes. That should fix it. I need to edit that post because it's missing a few steps:
A) You need to have Google Maps and Google Search installed.
B) After you extract the file to the Permissions folder, assign same r/w permissions.
3) After you complete the steps, clear Play Store cache and then reboot.
Let me know if you need more help.

Help Needed: Viper4Android

Hello, does anyone have a quick and easy tutorial on how to have viper4android compatible with youtube, slacker radio, and my games such as clash of clans etc? I used the lolliviper method through my recovery and can only confirm that viper is present and working when I use Play Music. (BTW I'm on a Motorola Unlocked Nexus 6 with Android 5.0.1)

go into the themes and app section. go to the viper4android thread, grab the flashable version, grab the SELinuxModeChanger app, flash the zip, open the app, press permissive, install the driver for viper, reboot, then itll work. and xda lets you bump thread once every 24 hours, not 2 hours after you post.
Is the driver for viper included in the zip or when first opening the app? I have done everything there but I want to make sure I got the drivers. And I didn't know there were any rules about bumping until now. Thanks.

yes and no. after flashing the zip and rebooting, the first thing viper asks for when you open it is to install the driver. but you need that selinux app to enable permissive mode, or itll ask you to install the driver after every reboot.
OK I can confirm I have the best audio quality driver installed. It does not however ask to reinstall drivers whenever I restart my phone. Is there something I am doing wrong? At least I have it working for Play Music..

It only needs to be installed once, it keeps the driver until next ROM install unless you have a script to keep it on rom updates.

Hello everyone, I have a little problem with a specific app. This app doesn't work after installing it from play store it is a dictionary app has an obb file. I installed the app and I see that a file gets installed in /sdcard/Android/obb. I can't read Arabic, so I've no idea what the app is saying.
I don't get any permission errors like you do, looking at my logs, but I do get a popup.
I'm running OOS 5.0.8
Sorry I can't be of more help.
