Windows 8 - ADB Driver - FIX - Nexus 7 General

Hi!
I had quite alot of trouble finding a way to sideload Android 4.2 to my Nexus 7 using Windows 8. It seems as if alot of folks have trouble with this! I tried many guides, with no luck. I tried my own way, and this worked for me!
So here is my guide!
1. Download ASUS USB Driver here: asus dot com / Tablet / Nexus / Nexus_7 / #download (Select OS: Other. Then select USB. Download Zip.)
2. Extract Zip to a folder you easily can find. You need this in step 7.
3. Reboot to bootloader. (Power down. Power up while holding VolDn. Click VolUp twice. Press Pwr. Enter bootloader.)
4. Enter Device Manager. (Press WinButton+Q. Select programs. Type Device Manager.)
5. In that list, if your Nexus doesn't work with ADB, it show a "Nexus" with a yellow sign on it. If not, unplug your device and plug it in again.
6. Double click the "Nexus". Select the Driver Tab. Select update driver. Select "Browse my computer for driver"
7. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
8. Select "Have disk"
9. Browse to folder where you extracted drivers from ASUS. Select "android_winusb" Click next. It should say something about compatability. Click yes.
10. Select "Android Bootloader Interface". Install.
11. All done!
Try sideloading your update, or do whatever you like. ADB should work now.
Please reply if this works for you, or if it doesn't.

Did anyone get this to work? I'm very curious.. =)

Thanks for this , I had days of faffing around with win 8 in the end it started working no idea why, still get Fastboot errors sometimes. Going to give these a try and see if it solves the fastboot issue as well.

When i try this, it wont install the driver. Well it does, but then when i type in ##serial# it searches for the driver and cant find it. Then i manually point it to the driver and it says "no drivers found for this device"
For those having issues installing the driver, the below worked for me.
1. Open Device Manager from the control panel.
2. Put your phone into serial mode so that the computer tries to load the HTC Modem Drivers.
3. Right click on HTC Modem and select properties
4. Click the "Update Driver" button
5. Select "Browse my computer for driver software" option
6. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" (VERY IMPORTANT, Don't use the browse button here)
7. Select "Show All Devices" from the list and click "Next"
8. Select "Have Disk" Button
9. Now click "Browse" Button and browse to were you extracted the above files....and find the HtcUsbMdmV64.inf file.
10. Select it and select Open.
11. Click OK.
12. In the window you should see HTC USB Modem, Select it and click "Next"
13. Select "Yes" should you get a popup
Driver will install and you should be good to go!!!

Change PRLs (preferred roaming list), access other radio settings, place the device on another carrier, backup radio settings (IMEI), etc.
Some may be able to call Sprint and get it, but you most likely won't be able to if you're not a customer of theirs . Even if you are... Some just don't like calling.

This absolutely wouldn't work on my desktop PC.
Windows 7 64-bit
Did the EXACT same thing on my laptop, also a Win7 64-bit system and it went off without a hitch.
Silly computer boxes and their finicky nature.
I am using Win7 64 too.
It works for me.
Please note the location of the driver (inf file).

All things aside, it turned out that all the drivers I needed were already installed from rooting the One, so this was a big help. Thanks much!

Installing drivers or using flashtool in windows 8 and 8.1

For those who are facing problem with installing driver in windows 8.1 here is the steps you need to follow:
1) you need to go to advance startup option, i am posting for windows 8.1 search how to go to advance startup option for windows 8 in google
a) Press win+ i on the bottom right you will find "change pc settings"
b) click it and choose update and recovery -> recovery -> Advance startup -> Restart now
2) Then in "change pc setting" menu choose Troubleshoot-> Advanced Options ->startup settings-> Restart
3) After restart you will find "startup settings" menu press "7" for "Disable driver signature enforcement" and wait until you pc get restarted.
4) To install drivers go to driver folder in folder most probably you will find it in "C:\Flashtool\drivers" or your flashtool installation location.
5) Double click on flashtools-drivers.exe, in installation menu press next, you will find "select components to installs" menu check flashmode drivers and fastboot drivers click install.
6) You will get some warnings choose install anyway.
You have to follow these six steps if you want to use flashtool on windows 8 or 8.1.
Bit pointless to share because searching "Flashtool windows 8/8.1" gave me these links:

Fixed my LG G watch on Bootloader being recognized as an Android Bootloader Interface

Alright, so many or some have known that i had an sticky situation with my LG G watch whereby I couldn't get it to update it to a new Software Update.
But a plonker manifested inside it, it was that I couldn't even make my device recognizeable in the Bootloader menu or Fastboot menu. I will show you how to eradicate that son of a gun!
1. Plug in your LGGWATCHR into your computer in fastboot state
2. Go to control panel, then to hardware and sounds
3. Click Device Manager
4. Locate the name Android Device or similar
5. Here is the most distressing part.
5,1. Right click on the children of Android device and press properties
5,2. Go to Drivers and press Update Driver
5,3. Press Browse my computer for driver
5,4. You will be prompted a directory, instead press the button below it called 'Let me pick from a list of Drivers installed on my computer'
6. Now I was so stupid i couldn't even see this little checkbox right above the drivers for 3 weeks!. Alright for me and/or for you, you might only see a 'model' called
'Android Bootloader Interface'. Now, there should be a CHECKBOX above there STATING 'Show Compatible Drivers'.
7. Uncheck that and voila, you got ABD Sooner device. Press that and finish.
Please post your comment if you have any trouble!
dıd not work for me

[Verizon][Qualcomm][SM-G960U][Android 9.0] One UI Beta

Welcome to my first thread!
Many of you are wondering how to get the One UI Beta for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960U).
I will try my best to answer on how to get the One UI Beta for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960U).
Remember, this is a Qualcomm variant of the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Your phone will not be bricked in any sort of way unless you are on a different device. This has been tested on a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S9 Qualcomm variant and it should work on those devices respectively.
This guide is for Windows-based OSes!
The steps will be listed down below:
1. Download the latest unlocked firmware from Updato.
- Link: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=8AC04973FA8A11E89F15FA163EE8F90B
2. Download the latest patched ODIN.
- Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4446947&d=1521037501
3. Download the latest Samsung USB drivers.
- Link: https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
4. Download the latest Platform Tools.
- Link: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip
5. Unzip all the files into different folders.
6. Install the Samsung USB drivers onto your computer.
7. Restart your computer.
8. Turn on your phone.
9. Go to "About phone" > "Build number" and tap on it until the toast message says, "Developer mode has been turned on".
10. Go back.
11. Press on "Developer options".
12. Look for "USB debugging" and toggle it on.
13. Go back to your computer.
14. Go to your Platform Tools folder you have unzipped from step 5.
15. While you are in it and you can see some .exe files such as adb.exe, press Shift + Right mouse click.
16. You will be able to see "Open PowerShell window here".
17. Press on that.
18. PowerShell will open up.
19. Type in PowerShell, "cmd".
20. Plug in your phone to your computer.
21. Type in that PowerShell window, which now has cmd, "adb devices".
22. Unlock your phone.
23. You will see that your phone asks you, "Allow USB debugging?"
24. Press "OK"
25. Type in that PowerShell window, "adb reboot bootloader"
26. Your phone will go to Download mode now.
27. Go locate the ODIN .exe file.
28. Open it up
29. Locate the BL file for the file that starts with "BL_..."
30. Locate the AP file for the file that starts with "AP_..."
31. Locate the CP file for the file that starts with "CP_..."
32. Locate the CSC file for the file that starts with "HOME_CSC_..."
33. Press "Start" after all that is done (Make sure that in the "Log" section, it says something like "Added!").
34. Take a short coffee break.
35. You should be back on your phone with no information lost.
36. Back up all your information to the Cloud if you want or your SD card.
37. Perform a reset on the device by going to "General management" > "Reset" > "Factory data reset".
38. After the reset, you should set up all your settings, etc.
39. Download the Samsung+ application from Google Play Store (Try to join the Beta program if possible, you just have to scroll down on the application information).
40. Open up Samsung+
41. Sign in with your Samsung account.
42. Grant all permissions.
43. You should see the "Join One UI Beta program" banner or something like that.
44. Wait some time after registering and you should get the update.
45. Manually check for updates in Settings.
46. You're done!
Note:
It took me more than 2 weeks for me to get the update. You should be on the unlocked firmware for your Verizon Samsung Galaxy S9 Qualcomm variant. The reason why it takes so long is because the program is first-come-first-serve and they usually release the updates in batches...
These are the explanations for some of the steps:
1. You will need to download the latest unlocked firmware (SM-G960U1 XAA) because none of the other firmwares will work, as far as I know.
2. You will need to download the latest patched ODIN because none of the older ODIN applications will work with the Samsung Galaxy S9. I really don't know what the differences are, but it just works (I'm still a newb).
3. You will need to download the latest Samsung USB drivers because that's how your computer reads your phone. Without this, it will be harder for your computer to read the device and use adb. Also, without the Samsung USB drivers, you will not be able to see your device added in ODIN.
4. You will need to download the latest Platform Tools because you need to be able to use adb in order to boot your device from the actual Android OS to your bootloader.
Hope you liked this tutorial! If you are still confused on steps, I can definitely help you! If it's a question a lot of people are asking, I can always update the thread with the most asked question.
Good luck!
