I've just updated my office Nexus 7 to 4.2 but come across a very strange issues, prior to the upgrade I had a 4 digit pin in use to unlock the Nexus, did the upgrade and now I have to put the pin in 6 times before it will unlock, does it every-time even after a reboot. Never did it before the update.
Is anyone else seeing this issue?
Thanks

HI guys,
Loving my Nexus 6 so far, although it's a bit of a fingerprint magnet (blue). I encountered something weird this morning. One minute it was normal but about 1 hour later I wake my nexus 6 and all my homescreens have been reset and Google now needed to be activated again. I'm assuming it's a Google now launcher bug and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I experienced somewhat similiar this morning, google now "forgot" that it was activated and I had to activate it again but my homescreen was never reseted.
I am checking to see if other people see this on there Nexus 6.
I get random reboots, like once every 2-3days I would say. (Is this Memory Leak?)
Also sometimes I cannot unlock with power button, it will stay black screen. Here sometimes it reboots, sometimes if I wait 10-20secs it works again.
I am wondering whether to return it for another one.
Actually I never faced with my device. And currently my device's Up Time is about 180 hrs. Running last 7 days without any problem.
Go to this link and look near the bottom of the page. Paul, from Google, is reporting that 5.1 should "reduce unexpected reboots." Hope that means they have fixed it and they just used the word "reduce" instead of fix because of the fact that any phone might reboot given the right set of circumstances. Hopefully, persisting reboots will finally be fixed. If you read the entire thread (very long) you will see that many people have reported random reboots and they have experienced them under different circumstances. I'd like to know if they've found what is triggering the repeated reboots for everyone---only time will tell. Some have exchanged their phone for another and had success. Quite a few others have reported receiving 1, 2, or even 3 different replacements and still experiencing reboot problems. Don't know what the answer is. I'm just sitting back observing, waiting to see if it gets resolved before purchasing the N6. If I don't see a satisfactory resolution, then I probably won't get one, even though, before it was released, it sounded like the just the phone I wanted.

I have the same problem on my T-Mobile Nexus 6. 2 reboots in the past 24 hours. It occurs randomly too. I just got the phone like 3 days ago so I'm hoping that 5.1 will fix this issue. Next to the reboots I haven't had any issues with the phone. It pretty badass actually. I switched from the Note 4.
Thanks for the feedback! I really like the phone no way I will get rid of it for this issue. Its just annoying as nexus 5 I didn't. Have any issue like this but I guess KitKat was a more stable than LP.
I will await 5.1 which sound imminent

Hey guys, so I've had a bit of an weird issue recently, it started up randomly, I hadn't installed any new apps or anything.
I had rooted my phone and gotten TWRP stuck on it so used Wugfresh to flash it out. During this I fully reset the phone to the stock ROM. Even after this I had this issue. Check attached files for an example of what it looked like.
I thought, maybe it was an app that I had installed previously? So I booted to safe mode and waited a while, and sure enough, the issue persisted.
Today, the Stock 6.0 ROMs were released. So I thought, might as well flash it, my device is being RMA'd for another issue (top speaker loudly crackling when audio isn't being played). So I flashed the 6.0 Stock and left it lying on my laptop for a few minutes as I chatted with a friend on facebook. And sure enough, what's floating there at the bottom of the screen? An empty toast notification.
This is a completely fresh flash. This was on the first screen before I'd logged in or set it to restore my apps or anything. This is the screen where you hit the arrow before adding Wi-Fi and such.
What could this be?
TL;DR: I have constant toast notifications and they're there regardless of safe mode or clean flash. They even exist between major updates (5.1.1 > 6.0)
I have the same issue on my stock ubrooted nexus 5 running 5.1.1
It's driving me crazy! My nexus 6p can't come in the mail any faster!

I've sent in an RMA for my Nexus 6, hopefully I get it replaced. I'm going to use my brother's old iPhone in the meantime while I wait for a response from them, and then leave my replacement unopened and resell it on kijiji. I can't trust my N6 to last when after only around 8 months it's crapping out like this.
Having the same issues on my Nexus 5. Anybody found out?
UPDATE: I installed an Xposed module called Enhanced Toasts, it logs all the toast shown in the device. In my case the Sim Toolkit app showed these blank toasts, i recently changed my SIM.
Hi everyone. Yesterday i flashed Paranoid Android 6.0 to my Nexus 6 .When i set screen Lock password pin ,it didn't work on Lock screen and When i want to remove it setting has stopped error seemed
Experiencing the same problem on mine. Have just flashed PA after doing the usual wipe / flash ritual in TWRP. I set up a PIN for the lock screen during the initial setup intro however lock screen has defaulted to swipe to unlock. Attempting to change this via the screen lock setting in security results in the error "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.".
Any solution at the moment?
This is why it should've gone through BETA phase...
They are aware of the issue, Someone posted a reply on Google + that they should be pushing out a fix in a couple of weeks

I guess I'll go back to the n preview for a couple more weeks
My Pixel 4 XL experiences a second of lag after unlocking it using the PIN when face unlock is enabled. If i delete my face info and disable face unlock, the unlocking animation is instant and has zero lag.
I'm using Android 11 (Nov. 2020 update). I've tried it with stock kernel (bootloader locked, no root) and with CleanSlate (bootloader unlocked no root). Same results in both ways. Factory resetting does absolutely nothing.
Anyone experiencing the same? I'll upload a video once I can.
Yes, I do have this issue every since updating to A11 and you can be sure it's annoying, slowing down the unlock process. In fact, I've posted this issue on Reddit a month back.
Having this problem too. Looking forward to a solution for this one...
