I've posted a couple questions threads in the past few days so I hate to throw another one up here but this one is killing me.
Everything seems back to normal on my note except the fact that it takes 3-5 seconds for my phone to unlock after entering my unlock pattern. Another bug it has is that it wont set a pin unlock, you can enter the pin you want twice and it tries to save it but defaults back to a swipe unlock, It wont actually save the PIN unlock. It seems like it's having trouble cross checking the pattern or saving the pin to a file ... if that makes sense
I'm running this rom, odexed with an nc2 modem - Towel rooted and safe strapped.
I've been doing a lot of research and tried everything I've found, nothing has helped so far.
I've tried removing the sd, forcing GPU rendering, increasing animation times in dev. settings, clearing cache and dalvik, taking the personal message off of the lock screen, disabling watchON.
any ideas here at all?
You can Try the following (It worked for me on Galaxy S4 - Now it is smooth as butter flow)
1) Long press somewhere on the home screen so that you get change wallpaper option
2) Go to all options 1 by 1 and change wallpapers for all options.
3) Finally do a change wallpaper for Lock screen and Home screen.
This will resolve the problem of a sluggish unlocking pattern.
Hope it solves the problem!!
I have Galaxy A7.. Didn't expect it to solve with this funny tip.. And strangely it did.
Cheers mate.
That didn't work for me on galaxy a5 2016 running Android 7.0
I have the HD Plus for 3 years and stopped upgrading after CM 10.1.3
I love it especially the battery life, HD screen. However all of a sudden one day in August 2016 the lockscreen security component suddenly stopped working.
I did not change anything. I did not notice anything else unusual
The apps all work but hitting the power switch turns of the screen but does not lock it with a password anymore. WTF?
I have rebooted several times since and this is the only issue. Everything else seems fine, all apps, WIFI, ext_sdcard work like before but I am never prompted for a password and never see the lockscreen
I am never able to lock the screen with a password anymore, of course I have tried the settings and lockscreen options. I can set a password or PIN then I confirm it as requested but it never
takes effect. I just want to have a password and I really do not want to do an upgrade of the CM 10.1.3 version I am running
I have not added any apps since on the HD+cand removed a few to see if it fixes the problem.
TIA Dave
Some versions of CM have a quick settings toggle that disables the lock screen, have you noticed if that tile is present in the version you're using? It's been awhile since I've used 10.1
This morning when I woke up I noticed my phone required my pattern lock which means at some point during the night it rebooted. After unlocking I realized my home button was completely unresponsive. Recents and back button work fine.
I've found a lot of information about this issue for the Oneplus 2 and tried some of those suggestions but they haven't worked so far. If I dial *#808# and choose Finger print test it says "The application cannot reach the android service for the sensor"
Has anyone had a similar problem and does anybody have any ideas how to fix it? I've read that factory resetting the phone has fixed similar issues but I wanted to try everything else first.
Btw I'm on stock OOS 3.5.3, unrooted, no modifications.

Have you tried rebooting again to see if that fixes it?

Yes I've tried rebooting and even system resetting. I just spoke with OnePlus and they said it sounds like a hardware issue and they will cover it under the warranty.
I'm experiencing hangs or touch screen unresponsive, I think its the touch that stops responding unless you lock and unlock the phone.
I have three weeks with the phone and started yesterday right after a Factory Reset. Before that, it never happenes.
Today its better but still happen
Attach an image with the touch's firmware version
Has it happened to you?

Check with the service center if it's a hardware issue or not.

same thing happens to me from time to time, i have the phone for 8 days now, it started maybe 3 days ago, screen unresponsiveness happened maybe 4 times to this date
temp fix for me was downloading Google GO files and using it to delete cache, it works for now, no screen freeze up to this point
I think is not the same issue, I refer to touch issue thats come unresponsive some times until you lock and unlock screen. Now I'm testing android P which have another firmware for the touch panel. I will report later if dont presents the issue.
I installed the preview of the Android P developer and used it for two days and after a day of use I had the same problem, very disappointing, I went back to version 8.1, I do not understand why this happened, I never hit it, threw it, nor nothing. I was very carefully with it.
Has this issue been fixed yet?
We have a few of these phones in our family and one of them is doing this sporadically, several times in a row and then it's fine for days.
I can't see a pattern as to when it happens though.
Short Question : any of you using the Nova Launcher? Ive got same problem but using the Nova Launcher since years. Yesterday i did a clean Nova Launcher (stable) install and not taking my Backup file... And my Problem with hanging (Touch panel not recognized often my Touch) seems gone. Dont know why but after testing a whole of things im trying the standard Launcher and it works better.. So i did a clean install of Nova.
Same issue, V07 Goodix-V1.017.20

I had a Novatek V7 version with firmware V1.017.20 with unresponsivness of the screen when laying and got it replaced. Now it's also Novatek, but with Firmware V1.017.16. what version of Android you have? I am using 8.1 Oreo. Does the android update change the firmware version of the screen?

I am running Android 9.
I am not sure if the update changed the firmware version of the screen.
Hi guys, do you guys Enable or Disable "Tap to wake" function? If not, try enable that function, maybe that help.
Same problem in my Nokia 5.1 Plus. automatically touched at top of time side and battery indicated area. and i cant open notification bar.
I turned ''Tap to Wake'' on and my screen has worked perfectly since then. So i think this is definetely bug, not HW problen.
has anyone managed to solve this? its diving me nuts since the past few weeks and i dont know what to do with it. I would try to fresh install the OS but if that does not fix it, ill loose everything (game saves and such) but dont fix it.
i noticed sometimes the screen does some kind of refresh and then it starts working again. But mostly i have to lock and unlock to get it working again.

The only thing that worked for me was returning the phone untill the screen was replaced.
Everything else I tried (reset, reinstall, change settings, ...) led to the same problems after a while.

Hello! After the last update that I've received a couple of days ago (current OS version: 31.1010.0410.61) I can't unlock my phone using the camera, I need always to use the fingerprint. I've tried to re-setup the face recognition but nothing, I can't unlock the phone using the camera. Any idea how to fix it? I've noticed also that before during the unlock there was the green camera icon on top right, now there is just a green dot. I don't know if it can be relevant.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks!
Try to - delete your face from phone. Then in apps find Asus Face Unlock Service - force stop, then clear internal memory. Restart phone - register face and boom - works like charm, at least for now. You can also clear cache files system-wide and reboot your device.
Thanks for the suggestion but at the end I've solved in another way. When I went to "Security & Lock screen" section to remove the face recognition. I've noticed that there was a "Google Play system update" pending.
I've launched it and it fixed it
Good to know. But it may be temporary fix. I reported this bug of Asus official forum and - one of mods reply that they fix this in next FOTA. This must be something more serious.
The problem came back, after about a day later. Now everything is updated but the unlock doesn't work anymore. I wanted to try your method, but I don't find any "Asus Face Unlock Service" app. In the meanwhile I'll hope in a fix in the next FOTA

When you enter all apps menu press three dots and select show system apps. Then you find Asus face app.
Edit.
For me this solution is working for a out 2 days. After app crashes and you need repeat whole process.
I've just noticed that if you restart the phone it also "fixes" the problem, but I suppose that it won't last long. I really hope that they fix it asap
