This can be a great reference for people who are undecided on Straight Talk t-mobile network vs Native T-mobile network. We can also compare $30 unlimited plan to contract plan speeds.
Please Post:
Carrier: xxxxxxx (EX: T-mobile network via T-mobile, OR, T-mobile network via Straight Talk)
Plan: xxxxx (EX: $30 unlimited, OR, $45 unlimited)
Location: xxxxx (EX: Brooklyn, NY... OR Dallas, Texas)
Then please post a picture of your speeds (or you can type it out).
Thanks!!
I posted this on thread already.

Me too, it's the best phone I've ever played with or owned, and I've been very promiscuous.
On 3 mobile, £15 per month pay as you go (off contract), all you can eat unlimited data bundle, I got this whilst walking about in the town. Why bother paying the 4g data premium?
Definitely the best speeds I've had in my area on tmobile
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Not only good speed but also good latency considering I rely on Google Voice + Groove IP for VOIP. Tmobile looking good.
And on WiFi.... 2.5 band...
Who needs LTE
Great Thread guys keep em coming. Really can't wait to get mine!

Yep. Speed Test on my N4 isn't scaled properly, and for some god forsaken reason my speeds have gone from ~4Mb on my Galaxy Nexus to absolute crap on my N4.

So, are these speeds using DC-HSDPA?
I was under the impression that DC-HSDPA was 10-12mb

I'm in Tampa and on T-Mobile's unlimited value plan for $69. I'm pulling down 12-18 Mbps on average. Upload is 1.5-2.5 Mbps.
Thanks for the results. Now I'm even more anxious to get my Nexus 4. Those scores absolutely obliterate my scores on Sprint.
If anybody in the San Fernando Valley can report in on T-Mobile results, that would be great.

I'm in Dallas and I get HSPA but for some reason I'm only getting 570k max download speed. Is there a way to get faster speeds like diff radio?
Sent from my Nexus One using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Realistically that's probably on-par for what TMO can provide in your area. They are working on adding more backhaul to towers to support the higher speeds.
Ah i see. So even though they have listed Dallas as one of the few H cities its still not optimal speeds as far as what they have said it should be ?

So my buddy had a my touch slide and we were at buffalo wild wings, and when we team the speed test her was getting 4mb/s while my nexus one only was getting 1.7mb/s. These numbers were consistent too so it was pretty discouraging. Any idea why, am I being throttled?

Just bad luck I assume, cause my nexus pulls down over 3 mbps all the time.
I've had both devices and got the same speeds on both.

Isnt the Mytouch Slide able to handle higher speeds over cellular data?

Which wild wings?
Are you both using T-mobile?
My wife's slide loads pages faster than my nexus. I was pretty sure the snapdragon was faster...oh well its always something. Nexus still rocks more or less
We are both Tmobile, both on the network, i.e. not wifi. That's enough of a reason for someone to choose the slide over the nexus, wouldn't you think? 4mb/s vs. 1.7 mb/s?

i like the mytouch better!
SOLVED
no worries guys i found the culprit on my own , apparently i was still on my smartphone plan from tmobile, after the rep changed it from the smartphone plan to the android plan, i now get an average of 4mb/s . . . . . o yeaaaaa, android ftw
Did not see a thread like this if there is already one forgive this new guy. Anyways, this is T-Mobile prepaid mobile broadband plan. I'm pretty happy with these speeds.

I use an HSPA+ mifi but never see speeds likes yours, OP! I'm lucky to see 2mb down!
Did some driving around today, seems the speeds I posted are pretty limited to a small area here unfortunately. Most of the other places I tried were around 1 - 3 Mbps which is still better then what I get with Sprint (no 4g coverage here but I have to pay for it) just waiting until my contract is up to make the switch.
Figured id post a WiFi speed, its a lot higher then what I pay for but what the hell

Just to add: Bell and Telus have a shared HSPA+ network that operates on both 850 and 1900. So unlike T-Mobile's, it has better in-building coverage and penetration. Same frequencies as AT&T but overall faster and less burdened. Lower burden due in part to the fact that there are very few customers with grandfathered unlimited plans of any kind - Canada saw its first iPhones launch with small data caps, while AT&T started with unlimited and only years later started to shrink the data allowance.
bump.. Anyone else? There's gotta be a lot more of us Nexus 7 3G owners out there by now.
att gave me horrible speeds, but tmobile gave me much better service. much happier now.
The employee at Tmo must have been unaware they had that plan, or else I might be using it. I should'a known tho because I thought I saw they had a tablet for sale! Anyway, I'm basically happy with 3gb for $30 with AT&T, but it's nice to have options.
does this device not have "H+" icon in the status and only shows "H"? I'm using the tablet plan on Telus in Canada and it only shows "H".
I have LTE signal when I plug in the sim card into my Nexus 5.
Any suggestions?

Att and tmo are the 2 popular carriers for n4. So it may help others to decide, if we can create a database for actual coverage.

2. Who's your carrier?
3. How's the coverage?

I'm on T-Mobile. I've been using them for about 4 years here in Denver. I know it's not the case across the country but here in Colorado T-Mobile consistently gets ranked in the top 2 in terms of coverage (& customer service for that matter).

2. T-Mobile
3. Excellent in Denver and as good or better than Verizon/AT&T/Sprint in the mountains.

Huge mixed bag.
I still have my vzw gnex so I can compare the two (they are both on me at all times).
When I'm in a hspa 21/42 area the data is great and not too much slower than lte.
The key to that is, when I'm in the area, because it's not that often, especially compared with Verizon's 4g footprint.
So for me it's very hit or miss. I even find myself tethering the gnex to the n4 in many spots.
The phone is stupid good though, so even if I didn't have the gnex I'd prob still keep it even with the hit or miss data.

Coverage around town is excellent.
Speeds aren't too impressive though. I never get higher than maybe 2.5 mb down and maybe 2 up. And we are supposedly hspa42. But at&t isn't any faster as they don't have hspa+ or LTE here in town.
It's pretty bad because we are a town(s) of 130,000 not even counting the 23,000 college kids. We are basically same size as Champaign-Urbana or Springfield and they both have better than 10mb downloads whenever I am there.

Lots of threads about shipping among other things. But what carrier are you using your PHONE on? I am personally using T-Mobile with Unlimited everything on a family plan.
Since this device is being sold around the world, i think an actual poll would be too lengthy and have too many options. So please just post as a comment!

Depending on your current bill, could potentially be worth it to cancel early. I have a friend that is going to cancel their verizon, because they will save more money than the cancellation fee.
