Lots of threads about shipping among other things. But what carrier are you using your PHONE on? I am personally using T-Mobile with Unlimited everything on a family plan.
Since this device is being sold around the world, i think an actual poll would be too lengthy and have too many options. So please just post as a comment!

Depending on your current bill, could potentially be worth it to cancel early. I have a friend that is going to cancel their verizon, because they will save more money than the cancellation fee.
As for me, T-mobile, been with them since 2001. (GO VOICESTREAM)
Um, you forgot to add the poll to your poll thread.
I will be using AIO pro plan.
Sprint is my carrier.
Will be Three UK. 2000 minutes, 5000 texts, 5000 three to three minutes, unlimited data with free upgrade to 4G in December including unlimited tethering all for £15 a month on a 12 month sim only contract.

Same Situation, however I am in the midst of fighting with them over this nonsensical 61 Cent "Administrative Fee" they added per line to my Family Plan. They never notified anyone and in breach of contract. I am going to try to be released for their breach of contract.
T-Mobile!
I ordered the free micro sim kit from T-Mobile today. Plan on buying their 1000 minute $100/yr prepaid plan. Wifi for 90% of it's use. Sad to hear about Google stopping 3rd party VOIP apps next year, no more GrooveIP, Talkatone and others... still not sure if I'd use 1000 minutes per year.

My AT&T contract ended today (perfect timing). So I'm going to give T-Mobile's $30/mo prepaid service a try as soon as my nexus gets here.
Straight talk At&t. I really wish Tmo would get the LTE in my area already because that seems to be the best choice. Just can't deal with edge/2g speeds and att has great LTE coverage for me. Even better than vzw in a lot of places.

Since your in the U.S. And, on AT&T....
I'd recommend either
Straight Talk: 45$ a month unlimited talk/text however, they have nebulous TOS regarding their data limits. It's been discussed that you use about 2GB a month or 100MB a day without issue (being throttled or thrown off the network, with no refunds)
H20: 60$ unlimited talk/text/2GB data
Redpocket: 55$ unlimited talk/text/1GB data
Those are the ones that use AT&T's network and would be compatible with any locked (or unlocked) AT&T device.

I heard about Lightyear Wireless and from what I know, they offer Unlimited calling, texting, and internet (without caps) for only $59.99. No contract, no deposits, and no credit checks. From what I've learned also, they're using Sprint towers for their service and that would mean, no GSM phones.
They also have a referral program where you can get a FREE service if you use their service and refer 5 more customers to use the service as well.
Anyone tried this company before? Anybody knows the quality of their network?

I did order from the play store.
The reason I called Sprint for pre-order is that my line is eligible for update and I want to take advantage of the savings by renewing my contract.

If it's the same as when i needed a SIM for an iPhone 5 a while ago, walk into a store and ask for a SIM. They wanted to charge me $50 for a SIM. I pulled the saddest sob story ever and the manager felt sorry and gave me one for free since it was my "first" time.

I had a plan to buy it from Sprint, pay it off and then cancel my service with Sprint. (Don't ask why)
So I need to know if I can just take it and get it activated at T-Mobile after I cancel Sprint.
I'm definitely going to try and activate this sooner. My phone arrives today. Will check Sprint stores and Best Buy for the sim.

It sucks that they want to charge for a SIM. Maybe I can weasel out of it since my original plan was to just pay the $100 ETF and switch it to T-Mo prepaid. If it gets them more money, maybe they'll give me a SIM so I stick around for another few months out of laziness.
Basically I figured $100 to switch to TMo early was worth it since I'll be paying $30/mo instead of $80 and my contract has 4 months left on it. But if I can get the SIM for free and easily switch to TMo after the contract ends, I may just stick around for now.
The only thing that sucks is that 11/8 date. I could go to Walmart and get a TMo SIM tomorrow once my phone gets here but if I stay with Sprint a little longer, I'll only be able to play with it on WiFi until Friday.

Exactly, all these new plans Sprint is coming out with end up costing us more money than the plans we already have so why would we switch to them.
This is really tempting since T Mobile has better coverage and more 4G where I live than Sprint.
I'm going to scope it out. Might be something to jump on.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
Well I went to the website to check out how much it would be for 2 lines and it would end up costing more on T Mobile. First off you HAVE to finance a device or pay the full price up front. So 2 lines with unlimited everything comes up to $120 per month plus if I were to get 2 HTC Ones that would be an extra $50 per month. So $170 before taxes and fees. I think you have to buy the insurance also but I'm not sure. I'm going to go into a TMobile store and check it out for sure though.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
I don't understand why people think these no contract plans are any better than signing a contract.
Why would you want to be on the hook for paying off a 600$ device rather than paying a 200$ early termination fee..
Sprint has the cheapest plans of the major providers flat out, and the network is improving quickly

Exactly. Good info for those who want it. Those who don't shouldn't complain, just stay where they're at. Already sent a link to a friend who was talking about jumping ship from Verizon.
Sent from space...
Yeah I'd rather have my text messages send and receive normally. Past T-Mobile people I've texted have told me of "texting issues" and the whole "edge" thing. No thanks, if my LTE drops, at least 3G is faster than edge. And I'm not giving up my unlimited 4G LTE & tethering. As for upgrades... If I really want the phone like my two HTC Ones then I pay full price. T-Mobile sounds good and all but i know there's a catch there some here. And Sprint made me happy thay my AT&T friends with extreme speeds sometimes ask me to lend my portable hotspot when their LTE drops to HSPA or Edge.

I went to a T-Mobile store today to inquire about it. What kills it for me is that you HAVE to purchase a device from them, and our Ones are only worth $106 in trade-in. Doesn't seem fair when I could sell it on CL for $275. The cost would work out roughly the same. $86/month. They also don't pay the ETF directly. You have to cover it, then you get a prepaid MasterCard in 4-8 weeks. So to start the plan, you're looking at potentially hundreds of dollars.
Yeah, it's contract free, but it's not really worth it in my opinion. Sprint does just fine in Metro Atlanta, and as much as I feel I'm getting boned by them, it's the smallest in the long list of dicks that are phone companies.

Yeah, what he said! I work in Pendergrass, Geogia, which is about 90 miles north of metro Atlanta, and formerly a 3G area if I was lucky. Within the last four months it has gone from spotty 3G to 2 bars of LTE. And that's literally out in the boonies. That much improvement that fast is worth hanging around, especially with the whole Mastercard bait and switch crap. Sprint is really earning my business these days. My penny and a half...

You're paying about 88 more than a 2 year contract over those 12 months, and if you ever decide you don't want to upgrade you still have to end up paying the full retail of the phone.
not to mention you have to trade your phone back in whenever you do decide to upgrade, its kind of a bunk deal if you ever want to get out of service with them.
You do have to trade yout phone back in, but you only have you pay 50% of the phones retail value in order to upgrade.
I knew there would be some drawbacks...but we'll see. Thanks guys

Yes, price wise. The max speeds you can get on Cricket is 8mbs down. They had a promo a few months back, their best plan which comes with 10gb of data for $60, they doubled it to 20gb data for the same price, with auto pay on you could get 20gb of LTE data for $55 a month, then throttled to 2g for remainder of the month. Hell, even I was tempted to jump on that offer.
