How can I use INT2EXT+ on stock rom if it doesn't have init.d? I don't use Link2SD. Either DT's or INT2EXT.

U need to have init.d folder
Flash a custom kernel for Stock roms. You should have init.d folder

It is impossible to have. INT2EXT+ without having a Int.d folder supported kernel, flashing a custom kernel isn't hard. Just make sure your phone is rooted and has CWM5 installed. Also, be sure the kernel you want to flash is made for stock ROM instead of CyanogenMod ROM.

Yeah but I have a problem. My ace is incompatible with flashed kernels. If I flash a new kernel after installing a rom, ill have major battery drain issues. No matter how much I charge and calibrate. I've always had this problem.
So I'm guessing I can't use it unless someone takes the stock rom and manually adds the kernel and gives me the whole zip. Who's up for it?

What if you flash a stock rom with battery extender or nims kernel, same battery drain?

If I flash it WITH the kernel already in the rom, I don't think so. But if I flash the rom first THEN the kernel, I'll get issues.
Too bad though. I really wanted to try out that new KTS. Been switching roms for too long so I want a bugless battery efficient rom.

For those who are using Miui.Us like me, any nice kernal suggestions just for Miuis in GT-I9000? I had problem in random rebootings since the past 5 - 6 Rom builds, it might change if i change the kernal? Any helps here? Thanks in advance!
Try Galnet...ime it was good and running perfect it came with Vorbeth Kernel and i think the latest one is Glitch, maybe you will find it better than the stock MiUi..!
sew vorbeth kernel if u want stock
neo-16 beast is i am using now
also there is glitch & fugumod
Okays, i'm interested in Glitch tho. But do u know the way to apply that kernal? Needed any requirements or just apply via CWM? Or need some bootloaders or stuffs?

Hey thanks! I've just flashed Glitch's today and play around w the overclocking and undervolting things? Do u know the values for some good performance + batt life for it? And what does it differenciate by Low leakage, Medium leakage and High leakage? I'm using the Medium one anyway.
Hi all.
I'd like to know what should I wipe to safely change from one kernel to the other.
Just flashing kernels, nothing else.
For example if I go from a CF kernel to a stock one.
In that case, will it be possible to wipe from a recovery menu even if I don't have access to CWM anymore?
Thanks a lot.
Kernel script cleaner is good when you changing kernels.
Seems to be for CM7, isn't it?
I don't mean to constantly change kernels so I don't mind wiping through recovery if necessary instead of using some extra app as long as this is the recommended procedure...
Look for lippol94 ultimate kernel cleaning script in the dev section...
There are 2 versions one for CM7 and the other for samsung rom's...
It will be best for changing kernel's

I both use and recommend this as well.
if all you are doing is going from CF kernel to stock a clean is not necessary as the CF kernel is mostly stock but with root added. A more comprehensive clean is only needed if moving back from a more heavily customized kernel or from one custom kernel to another.
A system cleanse also is recommended when moving from a custom rom to another and especially if moving back from a deodexed custom rom to an odexed one and after changing themes.
how can i flash properly a cm9 or cm10 rom if i'm currently using kingdroid v7.1 and notecore kernel ???
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
If you mean notecore kernel.. It is safe to flash roms from there as it has MMC_CAP_ERASE disabled and you can perform all the necessary wipes in order to flash the new rom

Notecore is safe but not any ics.kernel is safe to flash cm base ROM
Dont understand why op asking someone tried, why someone flash from ics when it can brick device. Just to try brick?

i'm sorry cause in a cm10 based thread i asked if it is safe to flash cm10 with notecore kernel and someone said that it's a safe kernel..So what do they mean by that? just finding a way how properly flash cm9 or cm10 if i'm on kdv7.1 ics and my kernel is notecore v13.. sorry for the misunderstanding....
i meant notekernel by gavin..
Notekernel is safe means you can safely wipe, flash CWM, can take nadroid backup/Restore on ICS ROM only.
Here in your case this safety have no concern. Notecore is TW based ICS kernel. You can't flash CM based ROM on any ICS based kernel/ROM.
To flash CM based ROM, get GB ROM/Kernel + CWM and flash CM based ROM using that.
Yes. Flash using pc odin, then root and install cwm, before flashing cm9.

That is 100% wrong,
you CAN flash CM{9,10} from a safe kernel, be it SpeedMod, franco or NoteCore, exactly the same way you can flash a TW rom from a CM kernel, as long as it's a safe kernel you can do whatever you want.
Now, if you flash NoteCore *after* you flash CM, your device won't boot, however you can always use the recovery to install a CM kernel or just a TW rom.
You do NOT need to flash a whole GB ROM, you can just flash the kernel and boot into it's recovery.
Also, you do NOT need a GB kernel or Abyss to flash anything as long as you have a safe kernel, aka SpeedMod, NoteCore, CM9/10, Thor, etc.
Your statement about flashing a whole GB ROM just to flash CM is misleading and wrong.
I still appreciate all your useful posts.
@PierreTech, it is 100% safe to wipe and install CM from NoteCore.
Steps :
0. Do a nandroid backup or a titanium backup. (optional really)
1. Reboot into recovery.
2. Do a factory reset.
3. Install CM9/10/whatever.
4. If it doesn't include google apps, make sure you have the appropriate zip file and flash it too.

Hehe dr.ketan I gotta agree this guy... You can use notecore kernel to flash any ICS custom rom... Aosp or tw.. As when you flash the rom via cwm the rom will flash its own kernel... In the case of CM9/10 the proper kernel will be flashed along with the rom overwriting notecore/speedmod..
But I can not agree the tone he does make things clear.. He could just kindly say no dude this works this way or that...
I'm sure you know way more things than me or him but in this little thing they guy its right

I meant no disrespect to dr.ketan, without his great guide I wouldn't have been able to root my phone.
Oh, i really dont mind. It.is possible i may not knowing everything . My opinion was just based on Instruction on cm9 thread where it is mentioned that cm based rom shudn't flash on ics based rom, and that only thing i took into reference. I never have used any custom rom so may be not aware of fact, but this also be useful if such clearification to be made on installation instruction on op of cm rom thread, as really i m feeling awkward to go against developers instruction.
Just to edit :
@life.eq.null
You finds my statement to flash full rom misleading and wrong, but actually
I already used word 'GB ROM/Kernel' to flash.
That just means either rom or kernel. I never said you need to flash only ROM. I showing you one possibility, if someone on Non rootable GB ROM, then it will not be easy task to flash Full prerooted/rootable ROM to get CWM? in that case it is niether misleading nor 100% wrong.
Now here i am copying text written on CM9 thread installation instruction
Make sure to run CM9 or an AOSP-based ROM : FLASHING FROM STOCK ICS OR ROMS BASED ON STOCK ICS WILL RESULT IN A BRICK!

Now if my statement is 100% wrong. totally misleading then you should head up to developers of CM9, to edit instruction in more clear way. b'coz here ROM itself said to avoid, no instruction about to use safe kernel mentioned.
I am agree your information may be recent and experience based, even i can say may be better and useful to users who are on safe kernel. But that doesn't make older instruction wrong and misleading, when till now everybody following this instruction which is instructed by developer only.
Regards.

I think they only talk about the Kernel, not about the whole rom. I flashed many times a cm9 rom on a stock ics rom, but always AFTER flashing through CWM a safe cm9 kernel, or abyssnote4.2.
from ics stock, usually I boot to recovery, apply the cleaning script Sybr, flash my safe kernel (do not reboot, it will work now), do the 3 wipes, then flash new rom cm9 based. then reboot.

hmm...well we have the same rom and i've already tried searching for custom OC kernels for it....but i've found none :crying:
...but i've already tried different roms WITH an OC kernel if u want it, here are the links:
>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734312 CM7 Kang by Boype
>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454274 Zeus Rom
they're both cm7, so you'll have to choose if u want ics or OC.....
[edit] the info is wrong. Zeus is not cm7 but it's based on GB so they're pretty much the same[edit]
If u want to use a different kernel that is not with a rom, well sorry i don't know of some XD but i think there's a separate link just for the kernel of the Zeus rom, but it's not an OC kernel.....
to install just flash it using clockwork mod recovery by "install from zip" but make sure to make a backup first, i've had bootloops before when i flashed random kernels XD
ps: there's not much difference with or without an oc kernel, but that's just me......u should compare the difference...
...Hope i helped

I forgot to mention this recent rom:
Its called Mercurified by SoulExertz. Its based on CM7 also, but the difference between this and the other two roms is that it only focuses on SPEED so even without OC it's still fast, but you can overclock it to 1.2 GHz if u want you should try it out
*ahem*I am one of the pre alpha testers of the ROM.

minicm 9,10 on stock kernel is impossible.
Its impossible to run CM9+ with stock ROM. it requires swap(I guess) and some tweaks + libs that requires with custom kernel.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
