Desk Dock issue with Jelly Bean AOKP/CM10 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just installed JellyBam ROM which is based on AOKP/CM10. The only issue I am having is when the phone is docked in the official desk dock. This is my first Jellybean ROM, so it could be an issue with JB as a whole. Here is the problem.
When on ICS, this is how the phone behaves when desk docked:
If the phone was locked (with screen off), it turns the screen on, unlocks itself, starts the Clock app and continues likes that for a few minutes. Then it activates the Night mode on the clock and stays like that until the phone is undocked.
If the phone was NOT locked (that is the screen is on, with either on the launcher screen or some other app screen), the phone starts the Clock app and continues likes that for a few minutes. Then it activates the Night mode on the clock and stays like that until the phone is undocked.
Now on Jellybean, this is what I am facing:
If the phone was locked (with screen off), the screen turns on for 1 minute (which is the screen turn off time I set in the Settings) and then the screen turns off. When I undock the phone, the screen turns on at the lockscreen. And then when I unlock it, the Clock app shows up, implying that the Clock app was indeed launched when I docked, but some lockscreen setting overrode it.
If the phone was NOT locked (that is the screen is on, with either on the launcher screen or some other app screen), the phone starts the Clock app and continues likes that for 1 minute (which is the screen turn off time I set in the Settings). Then it turns the screen off. When I undock the phone, the screen turns on at the lockscreen. And then when I unlock it, the Clock app shows up, implying that the Clock app was indeed launched when I docked, but some lockscreen setting overrode it.
Is it possible to revert this desk dock behavior back to ICS style?

Just to let you know that I fixed this issue by creating a Tasker profile for a third party desk clock app

Yeah, Tasker is awsome.

Just for the record I'm getting this behaviour with a JB 4.2 based custom rom (rasbeanjelly) on a gsm Galaxy Nexus. Desk dock worked properly with JB 4.1.2
Dunno if it's all JB - Google has few hits on the subject.
eta: I found the fix.
settings > display >daydream
make sure daydream is on, select clock. > clock settings, select 'when docked'
The clock is now white instead of blue, with no options to change it that I can see (may be a rom issue), otherwise desktop mode works much the same as in JB 4.1.x

Can the screen automatically sleep in the dock?

Has anybody succeeded in getting the screen to sleep automatically in the oem desktop dock when no app is running?
Even if I kill the launching of the clock or media using an app from the market the screen will not sleep (automatically). It's pissing me off. It sleeps if it's plugged in to a wall charger.
Damn, even if I put the screen to sleep before it goes in the dock it turns back on and stays on. How illogical and inconsistent.
Any ideas? Or apps? I don't really want to pay for an alarm clock/sleep wizard/notification killer etc, just for my screen to sleep automatically...
If my search skills weren't up to scratch and I missed the relevant thread, please be so kind as to point me in that direction. There are many on dimming the clock or doing something else but I couldn't find any on just normal screen sleep behaviour that obeys the timeout setting for the screen.
TIA.

If I hit the home button in the dock program when it loads (or HOME key on device) and go to the desktop (not the dock program) mine sleeps like if regularly plugged into the wall.

Yep, there's lots of ways to do it after it's docked with 1+ key presses/touches but I just want it to obey the timeout thereby reducing the interaction to 0. My irritation with this is aggravated by the fact that you can't immediately press/touch something after it's docked, you have to wait a moment or so.
I just use my dock as a charging station and want to be able to drop it in and go. At the moment I have to put it in, wait, then press the power button once which I find to be the fastest way to sleep the screen (I use Dock Nothingness to prevent music/clock from activating).
My best option at the moment seems to be to revert back to the clock app which at least dims and has a screen saver. I'd prefer other suggestions though.
Thanks for the comment.

Can't stop my N1 from dimming the screen after ~20 seconds when plugged in

Hi all,
I've had a search around but couldn't find this particular issue discussed.
I have a N1 running CM7. When the phone is plugged in (either on my desk, or in the car) the screen will auto dim to a very low level after approx. 20 seconds after last touch.
This happens if the brightness is set to auto or a manual level. I've gone through all the settings I can find but couldn't find anything regarding this. I have got developer > stay awake enabled, which I guess stops the screen from actually sleeping, but it still goes dim.
The CM7 auto dim settings are disabled.
Any advice folks? I want the screen to not auto-dim after 20 seconds. Out of interest, the 'Car Widget Pro' widget seems to be able to force the brightness if you choose something other than 'auto' in the widget settings. So perhaps I am missing something somewhere else?
It's a real PITA when trying to navigate in the car with google maps as whenever I touch the screen to get the brightness back it disables gps tracking and I have to re-hit the icon, which is distracting whilst driving..
Here's hoping..
Hey, I'm only posting because I had a very similar issue. What I did was go into display settings (while connected via USB) and changed the timeout to one minute (or whatever you want). For me, when I went to change the timeout, no item was selected by default. This happened to me after I installed WidgetLocker for some reason. I doubt I will help but I had a very similar issue...

[Q] App for Screen Unlock via shake / g-Sensor ?

Hi,
i'm looking for an App that does Activate (and unlock! Normal is swipe) the Screen. I have found lots of app that does this in the Store.
The Problem is: I want an app that does this ONLY when the phone is lying on the table and timed out (not pressed the lockscreen button!)
So i put my phone on the table, Screen locked, take it. Nothing happens!
I Put my phone on the Table, Screen is On. phone Screen times out after 30 seconds, i take the phone, screen becomes active again.
all the apps that i've seen so far only work when you put your phone horizontal, or just bring you to the Lockscreen. Or work all the time ~.~
Did i miss the App that could do this ?

Any way to change display timeout for lock screen specifically?

So i just noticed this for some reason but I have my display timeout set for 2 minutes which is fine
but when i get a text message or a missed call and it leaves the screen on for 2 minutes as well. i figure this could be a battery drainer over time especially if im not at my phone to lock the screen back
is there a way to set the lockscreen display time independent from the system display timeout? has this always been the case? For some reason i always remembered the lockscreen turning off relatively shortly after a notification. maybe im just going crazy:silly:
bump...is this kinda common sense that the lockscreen display stays on for however long the system default for display timeout says to?
i could have sworn the lockscreen didnt stay on for a minute before it turned off even though my display was set to "sleep" after a minute

Screen turn on takes forever!

Basically I'm on stock 244 (or whichever is the one before 67) and I'm using GravityBox, I turned on the lockscreen rotation and the screen takes almost a minute to turn on, the screen slightly brightens but stays black, then turns on with the pin code in a weird white box. I turned off the rotation feature but the issue is still there.
How do I sort it?
No I won't reflash any firmware. I've got the phone just the way I like it after months of not being too fussed on it. I'd rather not re mod it all again.
