T-Mobile Employee discounts?

I was just curious of what discounts and perks the employees receive.
Thanks everyone!

I remember talking to one of the guys at a T-Mobile store a while back and I think he said that you get to buy a phone at the upgrade price every 6 months or something. I don't quite remember though, I may be Wrong.

Word to the wise, don't advertise much you're a tmo employee here or other blog sites, they don't like it, it's how I lost my job (last year, I have a much better one now)
But, since you asked, if you were hired direct to the company (not sine 3rd party wireless affiliate), last I checked, it was 2000 minutes, unlimited text for $10, unlimited data is an extra $5.
You get a 40% discount on the wholesale price of the device of your liking, but only for the first 2 lines. All additional lines are full price. You can have up to 6 lines (last I was there) with the criteria I listed above.
After 2 years, your 3rd and 4th year discount increase to 65%, and 5th year and higher, any device you want is free (but you have to pay outrageous taxes on the hardware)
They're a good company to work for, so long as you're in a position you like, and while they remain around).

when i was there they didnt give you an option to break up payments, it was just billed to your account within 1 to 2 months

I think something got lost in translation on that. A 300 year plan is not something investors want to hear. At least not American investors. That's a lot of time for something to go wrong or to fail to turn a profit.

I am a Sprint customer. Their service sucks sometimes but the price keeps me with them. If the competition would offer comparable plans at even only slightly above Sprint's rates I would make the switch. I don't think they have another 300 years in them, especially without an American company at the helm.

I here you on getting rid of VZ, I got screwed out of unlimited data over a year ago and still pissed about it. The problem is I can barley even watch 30 min. episodes on Netflix a month or I end up going over with all the other data I use.

Well I thought the same thing, but then i realized that I would rather pay the outrageous price and have ridiculously fast 4G LTE EVERYWHERE!!... unfortunately I am still with sprint

Sprint is alright in my books where I live (after I got the airave the only place left without strong service in my city is covered), but I want 4G everywhere I go, and faster and more 3G, and better phones (not their fault). If softbank keeps most of the prices/plans/contracts the same, and just boosts mobile data speeds and coverage I cant wait for Sprint to be bought out!

Yeah I agree, I hope soft bank improves the network and I think they should transform it into a GSM Network...id love that

Yea i think if you live in a country with access to Play store go with it ^_^ and if you live in a country where u cant get it from there you have to go with handtec or clove i think

Actually, considering the price that will be in Belgium, ordering from this website is not that expensive.
Luckly for me, a French friend will order it for me

I beleive this is targeted at people in European countries without the Playstore. Handtec arent new to gray imports, they sold me an Asian/Middle Eastern TyTN II about 4 years ago.

Yes, last week they told me they would start shipping the devices in the end of November.
EDIT: I just talked to them once again and this time they told me that the phone most likely will be available for purchase next week. I might actually order it there as it's the cheapest option I could find. (living an EU country with no Play store).
Another option would be to use Forward2me's personal shopper feature and get it shipped from there but it would cost the same as just ordering from Handtec (350 UK pounds)

You can't now. They closed pre-orders. Only problem I encountered was the fact that shipping address had to be the same as the address and information on the card. Make sure that fits and you'll be fine.

Fuuc, im getting crazy over here, they said 2 weeks ago that last week they would supposedly get a confirmation date from their supplier/LG.
But im waiting, and no date yet..
Starting to loose my mind.

First off Android 4.4.4 has been out since June of 2014 (thanks for the speedy update AT&T) wouldn't you think this would have been an update that fixes any previous issues and possibly improved upon? 8 Months later... UCU2AOA1 4.4.4
The camera does not make an audible noise and does not turn green anymore when in focus.
The gallery app has text overflowing if the album has long characters.
App drawer lags every time you scroll a page.

I'm so sick of this crap that this is the last subsidised phone I'll bother with. Sadly, AT&Ts network is the best for me as far as service goes. There's no point in taking their phones, though. The meager savings are not worth the hassle.

I can't change from Dalvik to ART now. Anyone else have this issue?

fwiw, if you didn't buy one outright before, you probably ended paying more than full retail for it over the lifetime of a 2 yr contract. probably.
and yes, locked BL is a PITA for those who want to play. it's nothing new though, and att apparently has a history.

I think it should be illegal, they are infringing on owners of their phones. Not to their software and at their will. I made the sad sad mistake of picking up an unlocked att s5 and I'm on T-Mobile service since att phones work and I had an s3 running on 5.0.2 for months and loved it so I got this phone with intentions of running a custom ROM because that is what android is all about and after purchasing the hardware I should legally be able to use any software I'd like, not the previous service provider. Does that sound unreasonable?

Depends on the agreement made when buying the phone. Its all very on the second hand market because I'm not sure what the original contract states ... I would not be surprised to find very restrictive verbiage in the AT&T contract, whether enforceable or not.
The true solution is to look to the vendors selling open devices from the beginning and stay with them. Unfortunately this will almost always rule out true leading hardware devices as the prime carriers will lock them up.

I just picked up my galaxy s6 active, but I plan to use it with tmobile. From what I saw, it takes band 4 lte, which is tmo, so all I would need are the apn settings and I should be good to go.
Now I am very impatiently waiting for my unlock code from Theunlockingcompany.com
I'll report how it goes here.

Will ATT not unlock in store? I thought they would if you pay full price.

You can unlock any GSM phone regardless of if it is under any contract or not.
There are plenty of online services that give you unlock codes based on your imei

Tried one on eBay, came back as "this device is active on another user's account" which apparently means it's under contract. Bought phone on swappa so must've been an upgrade.

BTW, this is exactly how I did it. Still waiting on my unlock code though.

Holy crap! You got a $700 brand new phone on CL for $450? Wonder why the person didn't return phone for refund instead since it's only been out since last Friday officially? Was seller an at&t employee or something?

So how would you be getting future firmware updates? Would you be able to get it OTA when AT&T release it for the S6 Active, or do you need to wait for it to be uploaded somewhere so you can download and install?

1. Odin flash the update
2. I am counting on root and custom recovery being available at some point.
3. I believe I can still get an Ota even if I have a different carrier Sim in their via wifi.

Just picked up my active. Just waiting on unlock code.
