hy guys,
i have a problem.
i was on v28g first generation rom and today i tried to upgrade to second generation.
i nvflashed the second generation rom, the phone started, no problem. after a while, the phone freezes and i had to pull off the battery because the phone doesn't respond to any command.
since then my phone is dead, don't want to start, nothing.
i tried to nvflash the first and the second generation rom, but the process is stopping at "waiting for bootloader to initialize".
i tried to nvflash a froyo/gb rom but i had the same issue.
smartflash don't works
the pc don't recognize the phone
the phone is dead dead dead
any idea?
thanks
i'm not an expert, but i've been following the development since a while. you can try a few things...
1 - try to nvflash from another pc
2 - open the file as pc administrator
3 - nv flash an old gb rom
good luck
Did you try a hard rest? Usually it works...
i tried a hard reset (both methods) but the phone is dead, does not react.
O2 is literally unbrickable....

after connecting your phone in APX mode (battery out, hold both volume + and - then plug in USB) put battery in again and use nvflash.
My P990 has this problem too, need to put battery back in to use nvflash.
I've been through some similar experience after flashing v28 leak ICS.
I wanted to come back to CM7 or the stock LG ROM.
The only method that worked is this described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970979
It uses nvflash to flash an old version of LG stock ROM. After that you can update it however you want.
You will have to root your device again after this.

man.. you "can't brick" your phone....it will always be able to get into nvflash mode.. and this is the way out.

Hi
I'm helping out a friend, which O2X I have rooted and flashed WIUI on to (I previously owned one myself too)
For some reason the phone started to get hot after a while and used up the battery fast, until one day where he couldn't even turn it on again.
Now, he has been trying to fix it himself with NVflash, but no luck, so now its up to me and you guys.
I have used the smartflash tool and flashed the EURO OPEN stock ROM and everything went succesfull, but when the phone reboots, the LG logo appears, and it bootloops.
I tried both with battery and no battery in, but still no cigar.
Any suggestions what I should try next?
PS: If I try to turn on the phone normally, nothing happens. not even a blink from the screen, but I can get into S/W mode and APX
Try lg update tool, choose recover as option, then choose imei as entrance

EDIT: The software says the update is not compatible (dunno if translation is correct, but you get the point)
Update is aborted :/
No more suggestions on what to do?
Tried:
NVflash
Smartflash (Flashed EURO OPEN rom)
LG Update tool (recover function)
The phone still won't boot.
Smartflash is the only solution like you said that the phone can boot in s/w mode try to dig some answer in smartflash thread or search in google i know you can find some answer there

Assuming you have carried out the procedures correctly, looks like this device is actually defective. Probably not what you want to hear, I know, but...
Before giving up completely, you can NVFlash it again (using the original 10C NVFlash from Modaco) and post the log here. Wouldn't get my hopes up though.
please help me i have flashed using convert kdz and flashed by SFT.. my phone now not working.. no power any thing... what i do now ???:crying:
remove the battery, enter in s/w update mode and reflash whith SFT but with a good rom.

If you really did everything and in a right way, you can start to build a new house because you have the first brick already.But...it's not so easy to brick a phone with SFT.If you really followed the rules for Smart Flash Tool it's practically impossible.I know that people tend to panic in such situations and do something wrong in a rush.Well, take the battery, sim card and memory card out of the phone; hold the volume up button and then plug your usb cable( sure that cable and contacts are okay ), which is pluged in your computer with SFT opened; sometimes the phone enters in s/w mode in a second but sometimes needs five. Then flash a GB rom or anything you want.If nothing will happen is very much possible that you have a hardware problem( something similar happened to me when my motherboard was fu.ked and this is quite common with P970 ).Good luck.:fingers-crossed:
P.S. Are you talking about SE arc or LGE P970?

Well, the phone goes in bootloop when you flash patched files with recovery and then forget to flash Superuser. You must not boot your phone when it enters in recovery after flashing with SFT but flash Superuser from your SD card first.I think that this maybe was your first problem. But LG logo and flashing leds are also a very possible sign for a faulty motherboard. The same happened to me with one week old P970 with official firmware and not rooted, when I tried just to reboot the thing. And if your phone died after this, you can be 99.9% sure that you have a fu.ked motherboard.
Is it possible to make a downgrade to my rom só i can restart to use new cm nightlies

I dont think you can just downgrade with smartflash tools. V30 has a locked ICS bootloader if im correct and apparently my O2X bootlooped when i did that. Now i stuck and even NVFLASH fails
i downgraded my v28g to v20s with smartflash
Thats the answer....
Use Nvflash i downgraded many times from v28a,g,v30a down to v20 or cyanogen mod Its the savest way.
Im form germany... only found the german forum but the zips of nvflash work very well use it:

Anyway although I doubt smartflash could work for my case, I decided to give it try and flash V20B rom (starhub) via the .fls and .bin files method. It gave me an error when it was about to partition the "7 partitions". So i exited and unplug my phone as the SW upgrade screen on my phone turned to a blank screen. I wanted to try again and plug back holding the VOL DOWN button to enter SW mode. I heard the Windows sound notification (when a device is plugged or unplugged) as i do so but the screen was still blank. So i checked the device manager screen and saw that i entered the NVFLASH recovery mode.
Im confused as to how it would work now but anyway i was grateful to your post and that made me give smartflash a try still.:good:
the easiest way in your situation is using this [TOOL] Full Brick Repair (Clean & Easy)
It's nvflashable and already includes a CM10 nightly. Boot it up and upgrade CM10 with the built in upgrader. That's what I did yesterday. Then boot into recovery and flash gapps.

great, lg emergency recovery tool tells me this model is not supported for upgrading =.=
Similar problem, I was on Huexs´s 6.4, was rooted, recovery was working, then I flashed v30d by tantrums, was using it without problems, then some problems with sd card, from that point I am not able to run recovery, so I tried to flash patched v20 with Smartflash, but when it goes to rebooting, it always stay in bootloop. Only way for me is flash v30b, then root it with Unlockroot, but thats all, I can normaly use phone rooted, but I am not able to push to phone recovery image, so I can not flash any zip file ( like new kernels. etc.).
Managed to flash V30b
i managd to flash the v30b by the kdz updater but... Everything was working normally. I shut off the phone so i can go to sleep and i put it to charge. the picture i got is the lg logo with a white faint line down the bottom of the screen again. I unplug the charger and remove the battery. The next morning it worked perfectly again for aprox. 9 hours, that i was at school. Then i try texting my gf and the pictures below show what happened... @robusto try flashing v30B. then root your OB and flash TWRP recovery. You can do it like this:
1. Install goomanager
2. Open goomanager and provide root permision
3. Hit menu and choose 'Install OpenRecovery'.
Now you have TWRP Recovery and you should be able to flash any .zip file.
It worked for me.
(or you can get twrp recovery just by pushing the twrp recovery image file using terminal emulator).
Good luck!

any idea on how can i restore my imei from the S/W upgrade screen?
the lg united tool reads wrong imei and does not even start upgrading.
I am now on stock V30B Europe, rooted by unlockroot, uninstalled garbage and apps, whitch I dont need, using Holo launcher and LMT and am satisfied, bechmark with antutu 3100. Only I am not able change kernel, what could be phone speed up, but nevermid. I can live with it. Only can be good to convert some kernel.zip to same file, whitch can be flashed with kdz flasher or smartflashtool. Anyway thanks for ideas.

HeinekenAmstel, try to left out of phone the battery for one day, then try to flash kdz v30b for your country from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=1, but connect phone to PC without battery in. And may be is good to do it on PC with WIN XP. For me this is working better then on PC with WIN7. Good luck.
