If they wanted to be rally awesome they'd give a way to toggle them with a double click of the power button or something....

And it was brand new when I saw it! Why didn't you share it? Or have you somewhere? Great video by the way, I saw a couple like it and this was the best one.
Or how about instead if swipe to wake. Or even like hiding the notification shade. Some sort of on screen gesture which will display and than same gesture again to disappear... the beauty of android is the sky is the limit!

im not really a fan of the on screen buttons :/
they would be cool if there was no bottom bezel so the face of the phone was basically a screen
Great video demonstrating real game performance with effects enabled instead of useless benchmarks. That is amazingly smooth and a testament to the quality touch input. The biggest benefit is that it's a Nexus so Google will push developers to make it compatible with all games on Google Play. With the way it was before depending on your device it was hit or miss.

When I had my Galaxy Nexus, I used a ROM that had the toggle on the power off popup menu. Worked amazingly well. Hopefully someone brings that to a Nexus 4 ROM.

Based on information from the PowerTutor app, the various RenderFX doesn't seem to change the LCD power usage at all.
With 50% brightness, the LCD runs at 593 mW with and without the effects.
No it does. Read in settings.

Uhm, where you got this values ?
Have you the absorption table for others % values ?
Thank you very much !
Search for the PowerTutor app in Android Market. It measures power usage from CPU, LCD, WiFi, etc. (Sorry can't post the link directly.)
Here's my power usage at varying LCD brightness:
0%: 360mW
25%: 439mW
50%: 593mW
75%: 746mW
100%: 900mW
The attachments below show different RenderFX at 50% brightness - PowerTutor shows the same power usage.
I'm using MiniCM7 2.1.6 with nAa kernel 09.

It's a state of the phone when the CPU turns off but the radio is still on.
It activates automatically when you leave your phone in stand-by for some time, like 10 minutes or so. You can check if it is working with CPUspy or if you don't want to download apps notice if when you turn on the screen it takes a second, instead of turning on inmediately.
ei
is it different in sleep mode?
Is there a way to activate it by myself??

No, there isn't. ensoy is lying, or he is wrong. The option in No-frills activates deep sleep checking (in the app) but not deep sleep itself.

Hello guys,
Do you know if theire is an app for waking up the nexus just by tapping or sliding on the back screen? Such app exist for thé galaxy nexus.
Thanks

Your title contradicts itself. You want to tap your phone to wake it.. But also like pressing the power button? Did you mean you "don't" like pressing the power button?
Tap to wake exists but it has to be baked into the kernel and it's really useless (imo).
The `feature' works by basically keeping the screen in a powered state.. Kernels that support this feature (which is becoming less and less and less) usually set it on a 15-45 second timer... You have X amount of time after putting your phone to sleep that touch to wake will work.. After that time elapses your screen is fully powered off and touch to wake will no longer work. If this feature existed 24/7 you'd be going through batteries like crazy.
Hum ok dude thx for that answer, I want this function but il like more battery life...
Do you know any app waking the screen by capting motion with the camera? Or using any other sensors available on the nexus for doing so?

tbh not sure. I imagine someone could use the proximity sensor (which I don't think the N7 even has) but using that would cause so many false wakes by sliding it in and out of cases, etc it would also be useless.
Your only solution with the N7 is wearing a magnetic glove and waving your hand across the bottom left of the unit.
Yeah or by implementing a magnet on one of my finger... I don't find the accès to the power button very easy thought

That's not necessarily so. PGM on the Nexus doesn't appear to work like that at all, though since it's proprietary, we don't know exactly how it works. It certainly doesn't chew up any more juice on my Gnex, nor does it cause wakelocks.
showp1984 is working on something similar for his N7 bricked kernel.

Gotcha, if that is your problem you could always use a ROM that has volume wake.. AOKP does for sure, CM10 does I believe (someone confirm) and probably others.. Enabling it will let you wake the phone using the power button or the volume rocker.. This will obviously will interfere with anything allowing you to use the volume rocker to advanced to the next song etc while the phone is asleep. This way you basically have 3 buttons to wake up the phone instead of finding `the one'.

I'm having troubles with my battery, it drains too fast! I've used battery calibration tools, I deinstalled samsung push notifications, I'm using juice defender, screen brightness is around 30-40%, but the battery still gives me about 2-3 hours of screen time, or if I don't use the phone that much, still drains to 10-20% by the end of the day. Any suggestions, please!

well, the battery problem in my case was the Dropbox app...it was keeping my phone awake all the time and the battery lasted 20-22hours tops...
i uninstalled it,restarted it and all came back to normal and by normal i mean 2 days of medium usage, sometimes even 3 days...the battery drainage overnight(6-8hours) is between 3-5% (with wifi and 3g off)...
so,im pretty new to this android world, but check out your 3rd party apps, maybe some of them is keeping your phone away from going into deepsleep when you dont use the phone...cheers
Thanks alot, how can I check when my phone goes to deepsleep?

as i mentioned im fairly new to android world, but if u got to settings>battery and click on the graphical picture, below the graphics that shows the battery usage, you will see info about GPS-on,Wi-Fi,Awake,Screen On and Charging...my guess is that "Awake" should not be full blue bar all the way, since when you dont use the phone it should not be awake all the time...
at least this was my case with my Dropbox app,but i dont know about you...if your phone was OK for some period of time then it suddenly changed its behavior, then i guess you should ask yourself which apps you have installed lately, maybe some of them is causing this...uninstall the latest apps, restart your phone and see if that changes your phone back to normal(you can always install those apps back if this doesnt solve it)...
Get the betterbatterystats app to get accurate battery readings as the built in one doesn't work very well.
Disable all push notifications not just samsung. Facebook, WhatsApp, skype, Gmail even xda and tapatalk.

Gave the xt925 version a quick go on the atrix hd and everything looked great. The only thing I noticed was the baseband version was different (I'm guessing something with the modem) and so lost LTE on T-Mobile. Went into 4636 settings to make sure LTE/gsm was selected but it only liked edge. Tried reflashing the stock radio and it will didn't change the baseband. Flashed my backup rom and it had the right baseband version and LTE was back. Any idea as to what I need to do to get back LTE?
