[Q] Is my battery broken? - HTC Sensation XL

Hello
My Sensation XL is losing battery power fast even though my screen brightness is about 20% and I don't have wifi/3g/bluetooth enabled.
If i play a lap in Asphalt 7, I lose 10% percent power, and everytime I restart the phone it also loses >10% power.
I have a few scratches on my battery:

use voltage meter to see what is going on with battery.

@adilkral: No, i haven't got any other htc phones :/
@stona175: Where can I find this voltage meter?

@stona175: If the app BatteryCalibration, even though I haven't rooted my phone, is correct then my battery is on 3647mV.

Volt meter

Oh, I don't have one of those.

Isn't the BatteryCalibration app good enough or?

If the wiring is wet in the middle it could lead to a short circuit. Voltmeter allows you check is there are no surges.

no good for me. maybe your juice plotter is drinking up your juice. try uninstalling it and see if there is a significant difference or try getting into setting in application and then manage application then select running application see if there is some rogue app there running that you don't use and force stop them just beware to force stop running system apps then charge your battery at full and see how much it drain. you may clear up your dalvik cache and battery stats first if you have that option.
That battery life is horrible. I regularly get > 24 hours with medium usage. There are many threads around here on improving battery life.
Yes. Absolutely terrible. Do you remember what you were doing about 7:45, when it started to tank? The temperature seems a little high to me, too.

You can check with some CPU apps if the CPU goes into deep sleep. But again one day battery life on this phone is normal can you post a screen shot of battery usage from setting ?

Is my battery old and I have to buy new ?

Hi guys.
Ahh good to come back here.
Okey, I'm having a problem allready with my x8 or I should say battery not x8.
As always I plug in the charger into x8 on night when I was coming to sleep.
But this time something was wrong. I press home button to see if there is any message waitng for me and then is 32% and I thought to my self , What The F**K ?...
Here's the screen:

By my opinion battery cant go from 100 to 0 in 1 sec ?.
Any suggestions ?
Try to charge again and if it happens again then it should be battery problem and you have to get a new one
sent from my w8
press thanks if I helped you
yep! happening to me too..have u using titanium backup shoulde?
I guess your battery is old and it can't hold the charge, is time for a replacement
and btw, have u try clearing the battery stat?
Are you overclocking?
what rom/kernel/tweaks are you using. if a spare battery is available, i suggest you try it first and check if the battery drain is present before actually replacing your battery.
and don't leave it plugged in when the battery's already at 100 percent...
signature under repair
Yes , cpu is overclocked. No I didn't try clearing battery stats yet. Didn't have time for waiting till the screen shows 100%.
I'm not sure what effecting the battery but today I nearly wasn't using the phone at all and I have 80% right now , where when I'm going to school and from school listens to music via bluetooth headset and around the same time my battery looks like 34%.
I don't think that there is a need to buy a new battery as I will getting new Xperia T.
Edit: No tweaks. Minicm 7 2.2.0 and kerne; nAa 11.
happens to ne as well.

No.This is not normal!
Did u charged the phone continuously for 3 hours?? Until the 100% battery icon came?
"Yes Iam a Gangnam Style Fan......
Actually who's not ...?"
yep
until it say that the battery is charged and i should disconnect the charger
@OP wipe battery stats from cwm and use your phone till it goes to complitely dry and switch off after that charge your phone to 100% continuously without break the charge even single min. till the notification shows.
And see the difference..

[Q] Battery temp of 140??

So here I am casually checking GSam when I see this alarming graph:

To me, if this is accurate, it's terrifying! While this may have been happening I wasn't using the phone. 3 background apps, not charging. The phone is running the stock system. I also DID NOT notice a freakish heatsource in my pocket... It's been back to normal since so far.
Has anyone else seen an error like this in GSam, or maybe seen their battery temp legitimately go up to 140? Should I be concerned?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Your battery dropped precipitously right around that time. Check the others radio button to see what else may have been happening at the time. 140 seems awful high...it's entirely possible that a sensor went crazy for a few minutes...
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
I wouldn't worry about if unless you were using the phone and felt the temp go that high. Reminds me of my first 3 samdung captivates.. lol. Those literally got too hot to hold to my ear; somewhere in the 120F + range
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Yeah I've been hoping it was just a GSam error, and thankfully the highest the temp it's been since is 40ish. Though it's weird that an error would show up over that time frame and peak shape.
You're right, the charge did drop a lot during that time. I checked out the other statistics and my phone signal dropped then, but not the minimum. Nothing else I saw was going on (screen, call, gps, active) ...
Here's hoping it stays good I guess.
