First some history. Got this phone as a cheap replacement for my droid x2 on ebay. Started out with 5.6.890, successful root and flash to steel droid v5.5, ran fine for around 5 days. Dropped my phone, and got it slightly wet. I pulled the bat, let it dry out and 10 min later it seemed to be fine. 3 days after that incident it started acting buggy. First its brightness turned itself "off", being that there was zero illumination (think the old gameboy colors with no backlights, couldn't be used at night, needed a reading light, etc.), but if i shined a light on the screen i could see all my apps, texts, and make and receive calls. This continued after multiple reboots, bat pulls, but somehow solved itself after around half an hour. it worked fine for another 3 days, but now it turned itself off and went back to its weird no illumination situation. when i shine a light on the screen, it shows the M logo with the dual core writing underneath, then that fades away into total blackness until it comes back. It has a fully charged battery from a friends D3, and it wont connect to my computer, wont respond to any buttons, and even stays in this "bootloop" (but really it seems less functional than a bootloop which ive had to deal with before) with no battery just plugged into the wall charger. Any ideas for a fix? im probably getting a new phone for Christmas, but i have some important things i need to deal with before that. i also have around $50 im willing to put into making this thing work, as it has work and travel info i need asap. ANY help would be appreciated! thanks in advance.

Sorry about the extra long question... another problem that prevents this from working is the phone won't turn/stay off. as soon as i put the battery in it goes into its loop, before i push any buttons. thanks anyways but it seems like i might just be screwed

As stated in the title I am getting this boring bug everytime I (switch off the device and then) remove the battery.
I am with RocketROM v11 right now, however I don't think it's a ROM issue.
What do you think about it?
I am not on RocketRom so i am not sure but try ticking automatic date and time and automatic time zone
does the phone have a sim inside?
if yes it should not matter.. as soon as it connects to the carriers network.. it should get the updated time

Haha
I actually never bothered about wether it was set on manual or automatic, but I tried both and it didn't solve the problem.
It looks more like cheap mobiles that can't keep current time and date when removing the battery for a second.
actually I was watching the anatomy of note and I saw a small battery installed in it. like the one we have on mboards of pc.
so it's a wild guess that who ever have that problem mite have a faulty 2nd battery.

Yes. Inside the phone is the clock backup battery. The same is true of computers. This battery is probably damaged.
Hey guys,
I sold my Ace to a guy from a city next to me, and on the first day he said that the battery was worn out, that he wasn't getting juice for even 2 hours.
I looked up for a light ROM, and I found the Stocklite (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703094&highlight=stocklite).
Sent him the procedures (wipe, flash, reboot) and then he said it didn't solve the problem, and sent me these screenshots that are attached. He said they were taken after a full night charge.
Question is, what could be causing the battery to drain so fast, since it was fine with me (8h~12h) with AOKP JB on the day before?
From the screenshots, it seems that it's sleeping well, and it actually does look like the battery is worn out.
It seems that he is using a lot of 3G. Using 3G in areas of low network coverage or places where signal is weak can lead to massive battery drain.
---------- Post added at 05:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:47 PM ----------
Also make sure that he hasnt overclocked the processor.
Thanks for the tips!
I can't tell the guy not to use 3G. And I think it's not overclocked, since he used it after a fresh install of Stocklite ROM. But do you think that those 2 reasons could decrease the battery life to 2 hours?

Personal experience. Things like auto-sync might be activated. Also make sure he is sending you an actual screenshot. Loads of 'em are available on the internet. Take the phone from him if still complains. Let the battery discharge completely, then charge it. Use it for a day and show him the battery graph.
---------- Post added at 08:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:24 PM ----------
And look at the second screenie. He installed bucketloads of apps. Some app containing a malware might be eating battery. Tell him to install an antivirus like Avast.

Thanks man!
About auto-sync, I don't think that's the problem. See how the idle is consuming nearly no juice? About the screenshot being trustable, well, there is not much I can do, the guy is 400km from me, I have to believe him. About a possible malware, he said he got the package in his town and turned the phone on right away, which means that he used it just like I did before I packed it. Could be some kind of damage to the battery on the way to his town. Or, could be a lie. Couldn't tell. Fact is, a battery does not wear out from one day to the other.
EDIT: He suggested me to flash a stock ROM. Ok, he's able to work for it, I guess he's not faking after all. And this could do the trick. Now I have to learn how to flash a stock ROM through Odin, since I have never done it before
EDIT: He's now saying that the battery looks a little swollen. Which means that it's really time to change. Could be some damage due to the shipping. I doubt that, though.
Tell that guy to send you a picture of the swollen battery

There are lot of apps available on Google Play which contain malwares. Google doesnt scan the apps. He installed a lot of apps (can be seen in the second screenshot). Some fake app might be causing the trouble. There can be many reasons.
i faced similiar problem...
make sure battery is 100% charged...
do battery calibration
Hi,
I have got Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 NFC with CWM 6.0.3.2 and Stock 2.3.6 ROM. 1 week ago my phone started shutting down when battery is lower than 60%. It shuts down, but I can turn it on, but after 10 minutes it shuts down again. Does anyone have got this problem too? Must I buy new battery?
Make backup of your current rom and make factory reset (it may be problem of some app maybe)

If I leave my tf701 plugged in overnight, I get multiple random reboots throughout the night. Seeing as how it's on my bedside table, the brightness of the boot screen woke me multiple times last night. I'll try to recreate the issue to see if it only happens when left on the charger.

Is there anything we're waiting for to get "official" status from Cyanogenmod? Is there anything I can help with? I'm not a proficient dev, but I'm not above tedious work.
I was also wondering what is involved in the process of getting "official" status from CM. I am also willing to help if there's anything I can do. My build has been running quite nice lately. Would love to the TF701T on get.cm

I just saw the new build. Will try it out tonight.
2/15 Build
Any problems I was seeing with earlier builds tend to be non-existent now. This is a very solid build! Which leads me to believe that seeing TF701T on the official CM servers isn't too far off. Nice work pershoot!
looked real solid and stable. tried a second time. no restored backups this time. total meltdown. will try again. dead trigger 2 not supported by device?

Very fast and stable though.

Saturday, GF and I were about to head out to xmas party after a long drive. Battery in my stock, rooted note 4 was under 20 and we only had a few minutes before it was time to head out the door.
Turned it off, charged it. It was at about 80% when I unplugged it and turned it back on. It would get to the Tmobile splash/boot screen and just sit there. I started clearing caches one by one and eventually did a factory reset. Still, wouldn't boot. Finally completely cleared the OS and it just did it's no os boot loop.
I've rooted a modded the samsung vibrant, the nexus 4 and the note 3. Many many times on each actually. Never have had a problem. I have ZERO idea why the phone wouldn't turn on. Stock, didn't do the update, rooted. Reboots after rooting, everything worked ok. Then, just BAM, done. any logs that may have been helpful are all gone.
Kinda disappointing as at the xmas party everyone else had a note 4 and I was soooooo frustrated ( and couldn't show it ) =(
Hoping I can get this stock rom will install. I figure if I can get it back to locking up at the tmo screen, I'll go into a store tomorrow and say "uh... what is wrong with this thing?"
lol. tmo store noobs.
19 F%$&ing hours.
NINETEEN MORE HOURS before I can even turn the flipping phone on because everyone freaking internet host crazy throttles your download speed if you don't pay them
