This is really annoying me. Whenever the cell signal goes to nothing or has no connection to T-mobile (say when I walk into a dead zone), the phone goes BEEP BEEP, and the screen will have a red triangle with a + indicating "emergency calls only". I DON'T CARE!!! I just want this to stop, and I can't find the option anywhere.
i believe youll find your solution in settings > more > mobile network> roaming >roaming notification

When I go to Settings/More/Mobile network settings there is no Roaming option. I see Data Enabled, Data roaming, Access Point Names, Network Operators, Select Network. Nothing about notifications.
I have the Bell model, fwiw.

Hi all,
My brand new Diamond 2 (ROM 1.39.413.0 SVE, radio 3.43.25.19) will never switch to HSDPA/3G mode. I have the "G" symbol in the status area, and not the "H" symbol. I have checked the settings under "Advanced network" and HSDPA/HSUPA is activated. I also tried to inactivate it, soft reset and the re-activate it again but no luck.
I use Tele2 as carrier, and had no problem with this in any previous phone (last phone was a Nokia N82).
Anyone with similar problems? Any ideas what I could try?
i have problem. My D2 only use with 3G network. I like to use GSM but cant switch... always see the "3G" symbol
Well, today it suddenly decided it was time to switch to 3G-mode, after two full days in GSM/GPRS mode. Also, when doing data transfers in 3G-mode and the signal is low (one or two bars), it first gives a stupid error message ("dialing failed") a few times and then takes over a minute to switch to GPRS mode. Definitely disappointing radio performance, compared to for example Nokia and SE.
But I like the rest of the phone, so I guess I will learn to live with this...
how to switch to GSM mode, bro?
i tried to tweak registry, used some software like S'chap or Diamond tweak, but can't...
pls Help me
Start -> settings -> All Settings -> Personal -> phone -> Select your network Type -> GSM.
Its possible the touchy way too via Comm Manager > Phone > Band (at the bottom, German ROM here).
Regards

When i use my touch HD, in tab communication had 3G mode on/off, very easy to switch...
have a nice day, bro )
Try these to switch off 3G
Phone>Menu>Options>Band>Select your network type>GSM
or
Settings>All Settings>Connections>Advanced Network>Disable

Thank so much, bro. It's work! Now i can use GSM with battery life increase...
I have Data Roaming disabled in "Settings > Wireless Controls > Mobile Networks > Data roaming", however occasionally (probably once a day), I'll look at my phone and notice a notification saying that I've "lost data roaming connectivity", and my signal icon has a small 'R' above it. Even if I had roaming enabled, it shouldn't be using it because I am in Australia, and am using an Australian network. Any thoughts?
I hope this is in the proper forum and hopefully the question has not been answered yet. I did a search and have found some threads but not this exact question.
So anyway...I have a Rogers (Canada) HTC One M7 running 4.4.2 and HTC Sense 6.0,
Lately I have been roaming in the USA and have incurred roaming charges even though I set my Data Roaming setting to Off (no check mark). It seems to only happen when I am roaming. Basically this is what happens.
The Data Roaming Setting is set to Off all the time.
I go into the US and lose data connection as I start to roam. This is fine.
If I turn off Mobile Data and then later turn it back on, I get the "You are roaming and incur charges..." pop up box.
The only options are OK or Cancel
Choosing Cancel keeps the Mobile Data Off
Choosing OK turns ON Mobile Data and the Data Roaming setting is suddenly set to ON (there is a check mark where previously there wasn't) and I now incur charges.
Is this by design? Shouldn't the Data Roaming setting stay off, even if you turn on/off the Mobile Data? I am not sure if this is a Phone Issue, and Android issue (OS or corrupted OS) or a Rogers (cell provider) issue or a Roaming (cell provider) issue.
I am hoping someone can enlighten me on this behaviour.
Thanks in advance.

I guess i am having the reverse effect to your problem, my data roaming keeps switching off.
With data roaming enabled, and network selection on automatic. Whenever I am in a no signal area with my home network provider, the phone should automatically roam on a partner network for mobile network and data network. (I can confirm this works when tested on a few Samsung phones). However on my HTC, the mobile network roaming works (calls and text) but data roaming does not work. It connects momentarily then disconnects and stays disconnected and wont re-enable until a reboot. If i manually select a network (either home network or roaming network) and then restart the phone, the mobile data will stay enabled. But as soon as there is a switch between home or roaming network then the data disconnects and cant reconnect until the next reboot.
I was wondering if this could be a hardware limitation or software limitation.

I personally don't think it is a hardware issue, although it may be a software bug and an issue with the roaming provider. I believe that the data roaming setting gets "reset" once the phone mobile data setting is turned back on on a foreign network. I think that the HTC "sees" a foreign network and does not know what to do so it either gets the setting from the roaming provider or just defaults to a set setting.
In my case, I had lots of support calls with Rogers and according to them, my data roaming settings are probably resetting based on the roaming provider when the mobile data setting is turned back on. I actually video recorded what happens and sent it to Rogers when I was roaming. Once they saw it, they told me that any unintentional roaming charges will be credited back.
They did not tell me if it was a software issue or a roaming issue. However, I also tried the same setting using an old iPhone4S and a Samsung Galaxy S3 and both worked fine under the same conditions. That is, the settings were retained.
I have an N920T I cannot get service. I get (searching) in the top corner. If I try to make a call it says "Not Registered On Network".
It does show I have full signal bars, but does not show data connection.
Settings > Mobile Networks
Network Mode set to: LTE/3G/2G
APN: T-Mobile (T-mobile Sim Inserted)
The SIM is active, but I have also tried an active AT&T SIM with the same results. The device is factory unlocked.
If I go to Setings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators and tell it to search for available networks it finds nothing.
It seems to me there is some sort of issue with the antenna or an antenna setting.

Attached image of what I'm getting there.
Anyone familiar with what I should be seeing here? I'm not familiar with this.
Two days couldn't get it to work. Yesterday before I left my shop I downgraded the modem from OKC to OJ5 and it was still not getting service. Left it sitting on my desk overnight. Was fixing to start working on it. Turned the screen on and BOOM 4g and making calls.
I screwed up my phone. I'm on Consumer Cellular on their T-Mobile version. If I go to *#*#4636#*#*- I get to the phone info page. In the middle of that page I fat-fingered the dropdown for "Set Preferred Network Type:" and I don't know what it should be. If I put "LTE Only" I have data and no voice service.
I'm running Lineage 8.1 so in the settings for the phone I have lots of options under "Network & Internet", "Mobile Network", "Advanced", "preferred network type" and this has other options.
I've tried all kinds of combinations and I either have LTE and can't make or receive calls, or I change it to something different and can make and receive calls but no data. When I make a call and hang up I don't have data anymore. I'm not sure what combination I should be using so I have data and also get calls.
Anyone running Lineage 8.1 on T-mobile? If so, what settings work for you?
Thanks in advance,
Bearhawk
